He had to compete there Nesta, Thiago Silva etc...Also at that time they wanted to buy permanently Boateng so they sacrificed Papa.

I think that was a major mistake for Milan, in Werder now he plays really well, they are ready to sign him automatically since the buyout for the transfer is at 4.5 mil. euro... He is also the basic CB for national Greece

ferrer used him initially as RB, but after some matches he played also as CB (when mores was for example unaivalable)... because he was playing as RB in CL, AEK against milan 1-0 in OAKA, that doesnt mean that he was not playing in his physical place with ferrer at all. With Lille in CL he was playing alongside Cirillo as CB if u remember.

Now atm, in Werder he plays as center back.

sokratis is a very good prominent defender... his career he started normally as CF in the little leagues as a teenager. after his first coach turned him in defence, cause he is fast and very strong physically.His normal place (as he was playing in AEK Athens and in Champions League) was as CB. He transfered Jenoa, they started to use him at both places, CB and RB, after a year Milan AC bought him, he made some good games but after a while he made some mistakes and they loost faith on him.

Thanks for the video, its great. How he is. I love this guy, he is a awesome player. I like the styl he is playing football.

I just hope he get a new contract after this year and Werder buy him. He is so important for Werder. Together with Naldo best Werder defender. (Although I think that Naldo is at the moment better than him)

But Sokratis is just 22 years old and can play a lot of time football. And i hope he will stay in Bremen for a long time and does not go away after this season..
