  • idle is set toooo high

    it should go BLAH...BLAH....BALH

  • Great Truck, nice boots. Damn, I wish I had a manual trans in mine, that must be really fun to drive.

  • @jdog942 it really was a fun truck to drive, I have a 1995 dually now with a t speed manual. The 5th gear makes a huge difference. I did like the older style dash in this one though.

  • @jdog942 Wish mine was a manual too

  • here's a random question for you roughly whats the length between the front of the tray to the front of the rear fender???

  • im thinking of trading camaro for a dually...what do you think???

  • I think you have the year backwards lol

  • Are you located in Florida? Somewhere near Ocala? I swear I saw this truck at a muffler shop not too long ago.

  • @GeneralK494 Nope I am in south louisiana, I sold this truck about 2 years ago so it might have migrated that way over time.

  • Haha, at 0:55, it sounds like you crushed some beer cans then set the camera on top of em.

On a more serious note, that truck has potential. Like you said, a little paint, and maybe some different wheels and that truck would be a showstopper. I'm sure it sucked to have to get rid of it.

  • i wouldn't even bother with sand paper man.. with a truck that big you'll sand until you're hands are raw.

i'd take it somewhere and have it grit blasted, and then paint it. i think you'd be better off. it sure sounds bad ass though

  • Nice Truck!!

  • if you need parts, check out .....iPartCarsDOTcom..... (get it??) they make me spell out dot..lol

  • whats the r30 mean?

  • @ilovemyford09 It is the model R30 is a 2wd 1 ton, a V30 would have been a 4wd 1 ton.

In previous years it would have been a C30 or a K30. the R/V was used on one tons un untill 91 then switched back to the C/K.

  • @BikerTrashWolf i thought you could get a r or v series in a blazer or suburban theres a v series blazer running around town where i live thats very nice i thought it wasn't just for one tons but the older trucks with the tbi moters and different front clip

  • @BikerTrashWolf i thought it was always C/K?

  • definately has potential.

  • What was the point behind this post? It's like a used car lot advertisement.

  • one of my subscribers wanted to see it.

  • To make fucking idiots like you ask questions...that's why countryboy429. Dipshit.

  • @launchpaad88 i actuallly lol'd at that... who doesn't want to hear an old huge v8 fire up?

  • I almost bought a truck just like this in white. But walked away when I realized it wasn't a diesel. he was asking 2500.

  • 2500 is fair depending on the condition. the 6.2 was a decent engine but very very down on power.

  • @BikerTrashWolf "down on power"? Its a utility vehicle, one should think the main goal was economy, not power. I have a 6,2 in my burb, nothing wrong with the power for daily use.

  • @ZeitIstKurtz I picked up a 1988 v30 back in Feb for 2 grand. It has a 10 flat bed dump and fisher plow. Had 59k orginal miles. It has the 454 and runs circles around my bros 1995 with the 6.5 turbo. The 6.2 was even worse

  • comparing the 6.5 or the 6.2 to the 454 on power is like comparing these same engines on milage there not built for the same thing but with a few upgrades a 6.5 could probably match the 454 on power but still kill it in economy you would never make a 454 have as good of milage as a 6.5 and still have balls

  • Thats where it all started, with this model right here... solid trucks...

  • I like the steel fenders on the older chevys better than the thin plastic fenders on the newer models.

  • I love that clutch whine on Old chevys!

  • sweet truck sit.

  • I had an 87 burb with a 454 TBI. 9-10mpg with an SM465. Solid setup for those years, but a real gas-hog

  • amen to that.

  • sweet nice truck to fix up

  • my opinion is since its 2wd kepp it stock height or lower it a lil bit put a cowl hood on it and get some nice rallys. i saw like a 1993 coming home from the beach the other day and it looked soo nicee.

  • yea they dont make 8 lug ralleys

  • nice truck. don't paint it pretty trucks are for girls. i'd leave it the way it is. its clean.

  • I agree. I never painted it. Unfortunately I sold it.

  • is this a 4x4, and is it gas sounds like it?

  • Nope, 2wd. Wish it had been a 4x4.

  • nice truck i got a 1995 gmc suburban 454

  • 1:37 gears grind much?

  • Yeah... slave cylinder was going out clutch would not fully disengage.

  • @BikerTrashWolf guess an earlier chevy with a manual clutch steup wouldn't have this problem

  • my sm465 dose that too. My clutch is BRAND new though

  • freshen it up. Full cam, headers, dualquad intake, 1/2 mile per

  • kind of funny but it sounds identical to mine starting and has that same like choke soudn when it catches after you let off the starter weird and i have a 305

  • should by a dodge

  • a good truck cam and intake will wake it up nicely

  • nice old truck to bad the old smog era 454's had low compression and only 230 hp

  • nice truck

  • cant beat these old tbi v8s they will run forever

  • I know, they dont make enough power to wear anything out ;)

I still miss this truck though... Just too many toys.

  • not a bad truck! good old American truck! as for

hondahondahonda91....... yea your screen name says it all....

  • Hi. That's a very nice truck. I don't think the rust is a big issue unless it is rotted all the way thru which would only occur lower down. It would just take like maybe 40 hours to do the whole body and prime and shoot it flat black, tear out those old carpets and put in rubber mats - just sweep out the dirt. Hell, I'd drive it. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • tits seriously dude learn how to let the motor slow down bfore you shift gosh dang makes me sick seeing city folk tryin to be redneck by buying a old truck and wearing cowBOI buuts! im sorry

  • City folk? I can honestly say that is the thing you said that offended me most in your post.

And learn what you are talking about before you type about letting the ENGINE slow down. I bought the truck with a bad clutch slave cylinder so the clutch dragged. (alot) I would have had to kill the truck, shift it, then restart it for it not to have ground atleast a little. A week later it was all new from the clutch pedal all the way to the flywheel.

    P.S. Learn to spell.

  • yea you definitly know what your talking about.

  • lol 2:17 i say the same thing 4 my truck everyday!im like im going 2 put that friken panel on 2day!...but i dont...one day i will

  • man awesome truck!!! thumbs up!!! by the way, why is there two tank filler caps????

  • It has dual 20 gallon tanks, most if not all 454 trucks had 'em. Both my '84 flatbed and '86 3+3 4x4 dually have it listed as NL2 on the option sheet.

  • I was looking for a 3+3 when I got this one. had found one in Texas with a 6.2 and a banks turbo kit but when i got there it did not run and he said it had not run in 3 years... Sure could have told me before thast or had listed that little bit of information in the ebay ad... Atleast I drove to see it before just buying it.

  • i bet that sombitch didnt get but 7 miles to the gallon

  • Towing my 4runner on a 2000 pound trailer (estimated 5800 pounds) it would get 6 1/2 mpg. Unloaded, babying it it got 10 1/2

My F-150 gets 11 mpg... Towing. 19 unloaded.

  • That rust isn't bad, solid body from what I can see. Paint it!

  • It is sold now :( Atleast the guy that bought it is taking great care of it.

  • why!! why!! did you sell somthing like this!!

  • Because I have too many toys. Before I sold this I had 4 vehicles. this was the least practical of all of them so this one was the one to go.

  • nice truck

  • Thanks, broke my heart selling it.

  • I have to post a vid of the 86 c30 dually camper special, if i am correct it has a duel turbocharged 454.

  • ... if you have a twin turbo 454 camper special I DEMAND a vid now :D.

While I think you are mistaken and the truck has a TH400 (the transmissions nickname was the Turbo 400) a twin turbo dually would rock so hard.

  • The reason i say that is because my dad has the receipt from the engine work that was done in 98, when the truck was in an accident and had fenders, radiator, and some other stuff replaced. the slip said that the engine work was done on a 86 duel turbo c30 camper special, and it says gmc 454 on the side of the engine.

  • I've always loved the look of the chevy trucks

My dad has a 1988 chevy silverado 3500 crew cab diesel it might only have 165hp but its really powerful and intimidating truck (its really fun to chase little honda's in small paths)

  • If I was rich id drive a dually.

    Too much money on tires.

  • Well cant really afford to drive it much so these tires should last forever ;)

  • my dads 90 chevy 2wd dually pulls around 22,000 ibs everyday, its a 454 too

  • nice truck, i got an 87 gmc c25 with a 454 TBI, good engine mines not dually though

  • Thanks for the video. Your truck is very solid. If I had 2500, I would buy it to use along side of my 87 Silverado crew cab. I like the manual shift over the automatic in my dually. Hope you get what you ask for it, it's worth it. I wouldn't sell it for less than what you said you're asking for it. Don't get ripped off dude. It's a great truck.

  • Cool truck, my dads truck is like that same interior, seat belts, grill no AC tho.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIKERTRASH!!!!!!!!!

  • THANKS!!!

  • i hope u dont find this creepy or anything but im putting that on every single video you ever posted

  • I've seen a truck like this with a Cummins

  • hell yeah it got it i mean for a truck

aswell a dually i was like around 9-11 when

he had it but yeah i love those trucks

  • Well this one is for sale now if you can afford the gas to run it ;)

  • GOD!!!!! my dad has the same truck but

    a 1986 with a 454 big block bored out....

sure does bring memories back to when i was

    real young.

  • Cool! I bet with the engine punched out like that it would move pretty good:)

  • Awesome truck! I have an '84 Chevy flatbed with a 454/4 speed, factory Quadrajet carb and dual exhaust with no Cats

  • Yours is a 1 ton? Mind if I ask what kind of mileage you get with the Quadrajet? I knwo the TBI is not as impressive on fueleconomy as I thought it would have been (barely squeezing 10 to a gallon), and it is seriously lacking in testicular fortitude compaired to my grandfathers old darm dually. I just cant remember how it did on gas any more.

  • Yep it's a 1 ton dually, gettin close to 60,000 original miles. With the Quadrajet it's been getting about 14 miles to the gallon. I'm running stock size tires(235/85/16 at 60PSI) with 4.10 gears. I rebuilt the carb and tuned it, also adjusted the timing and she's running like a brand new truck. I'll try to get the camera this weekend and shoot a video of it.

  • 14 to the gallon!!!!!! thats crazy! I so need to get this thing in a shop where they know how to work on it, my guy I usualy use is an old shade tree mechanic but he is lost as a goose with fuel injection. I bet your truck has a good bit more power than mine to boot.

Most definatly get some video man. Let me know when you post it, I Look forward to seeing it.

  • Yeah yours should get the same if not a little better mileage. Anyway I'll be sure to let you know when the video is up.

  • My friend's dad had a late 80s dualy 4wd 454 4spd w/od and it revved free as hell and seemed to run hard. Lots a torque.

  • was it ever in a wreck?

  • Not that I can tell. The frame is straight under the truck, shows no signs of ever being on a frame machine, and I have not found any bondo anywhere.

  • lol the frame is pretty much 2 i beams

  • this makes me miss my 81 chevy dually with a 454, *tear*

  • I wanted to get my grandfathers 81. That truck felt like it had way more pwoer than this one. saddly my cousin left it in a pasture with the hood up and the breather off for a few months... (idiot)

  • yea every year they added more and more stuff that decreased horsepower so we don't destroy the earth lol, i remember when i was 10 years old and my dad was hauling a trailer with a 52 ford on the back, and we raced a older jimmy and blew him away and he was saying "wtf" as we passed lol

  • Whats bad is mine has the throttle body injector set up. so I am basically breathing through a 2 BBl carburetor with crap heads and a crap intake. :( Might try stepping up to vortech heads, really not sure if it is worth it though.

  • ours was bone stock too, only thing we put on it was new exhaust manifolds and ran dual cherry bombs lol. and with tbi, u get a little better gas mileage lol.how many miles are on the engine?

  • 92,000

  • Ya boy I have a 86 454 dually 83000 original miles just started box off resto=). Nice to see another

  • Cool deal:)

I am not getting anywhere near that involved in repainting mine, but it will look nice I hope. I usually buy GMC's. I am thinking of swapping a GMC grill on it and tailgate.

  • wow, it has cancer

  • The cancer it has is strictly non malignant.

  • wow. if only they still made titanic trucks like that. not that todays can't be big, it's just that that one is built like some sort of mobile factory, no emphasis on comfort. pure horsepower :D

  • You think this is titanic? you should see the truck I WISH I had.

There is a guy in town who has a crewcab version of this truck, 4wd, Cummins turbo diesel swapped in, front and rear bumpers that each probably weigh 500 pounds EACH (he can stack three deer between his brush guard and the grill of the truck) and 36" Super Swampers (six of them). He has more ground clearance under that huge thing that I have on the 4runner. I will take pictures when I see him again.

  • can that ol' girl light em up still?

  • First gear it is not even an issue. in second if I catch it right it can... I belive a 454 should be able to light the tires at will in 2nd, I will be doing some work on the engine as soon as I finish with the general repairs.

  • way two heavy.

  • Heavy? this thing weighs less than a new F-150

  • Wow, that sounds like a very tough engine for a smaller sized truck.

    Toong-Toong-Toong-Toong!

  • The engine and transmission combination this truck has is stronger than the dump trucks my family used to use to haul rice from the fields to the Mill. The rice trucks only had 350's but the same transmission. I wish I had the 2 speed rear axle off a rice truck though:(

  • mone of my dads work trucks was a 1 ton 454 chevy but without dually's-and man that thing could light up the tires at will-it was pretty fast too for a 1-ton-but one day i overheated so bad the cylinders were full of water-we changed the head gaskets and it ran faine but had alot less power

  • Now when I say light them up in first and sometimes second, I am just talking about putting my foot to the floor, thats not popping the clutch or anything like that.

  • So how do you transform it?

  • Saddly, this one I have to transform with manual labor, orbital sanders, and Bondo.

I hope to have it pretty sweet be the time it is done, Put a cowboy sleeper on it, Dual 4" chrome stacks with bull horn tips, and either a leveling kit in the rear so that it is not higher that the fron, or air ride.

  • It's higher in back for the load carring capacity. Put a large load in it and it will level out and actually ride pretty nice too. I haul 1500 pound blocks of commpressed hay in mine all thee time and it's great.

  • for some reason..i want to live in america now, i was proud of the UK but now all i see is people getting pissed...

    what do you suggest?

  • I don't know man. I think that it is a much larger conversation than can fit in side of 500 characters..

  • wow could use some paint of course but thats actually a fairly decent truck man. nice score!

  • very cool car, I would like to own one myself and you got a nice place from what im seeing.

  • nice car ^^ and how whas your mardi gras parade now that I am thinking about it !?

  • The question about magazines got me wondering, do you use a PO box for your mail because you have to leave for days at a time pretty often? I would be worried about my mail sitting in an open box that long.

  • I live only a bout 100 yards from my mothers house. She picks up my mail while I am off-shore.

  • that's convenient

  • older trucks look more tough i like them

  • Your not lieing. The new trucks are too done up. a truck should not have leather seats, dual zone climate control, chrome packages with nerfbars or any of the other sissified stuff they are sticking in trucks now a days. a truck is for work, and anything that does not make it work harder has no business being on a truck. Thats why to buy a truck capable of doing the work that this one can do today I would probably be lucky to leave a dealership having spent under 45 grand.

  • yup trucks are not made for work these days and i dont care what it looks like as long as it does what it needs

  • It looks real good from the passenger side, man. I kind of waned a dually, but I figured they would be hard to park, and stuff.

  • O.o... hard to park? you don't know the half of it. When I pull into a spot @ Wal Mart or anything similar I am touching Both lines. Going down the highway I only have about a foot of wiggle room in either direction (sounds like alot but it isn't when you are used to driving a toyota mini-truck.)

I usually have to park way out in the boonies and then hike to the store.

  • But it is not all bad, I mean, it rides great, I could tow Rhode Island, and if I hit anythign smaller than an H1 I should make it out ok.

Best thing though is Pulling up next to a yuppy in a Prius and letting it idle for a while. If it runs very long @ idle it starts to hase out of the exhaust because it cant burn all the fuel at that low an engine speed. the fumes start to drift over too them and they look @ you like you are the Anti-christ for driving something besides a matchbox on wheels.

  • LOL, well, as good as I drive, It's a good thing I didn't get one then. But I do love the way they look. I might try to get one someday.

  • This is my 2nd favorite bodystyle pickup ever. (only the 67-72 GMC is better)

I wanted a crewcab but took measurements and it would not have fit in my shed, and if I would have parked it where this one is parked, it would have blocked the driveway too my shed.

  • yeah, I like those crew cabs too, but I figured they would be even more harder to drive than a dually.

  • Funny stuff dude. I hate those yuppy types.

  • nice truck. its got that custom faded paintjob.

  • :D YEP!

  • its a beauty!!

  • Thanks, I try to explain that Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, very few understand.

  • Didn't you mean, in the eye of the "beerholder" ?

  • looks like ironhide got messed up.

  • Yep, he has been around the block a time or two, but he is still running strong.

  • good thing.

  • or hoist

  • Yeah, Might make another video down the road of it on the road accelerating.

My little brother drives a Ford F-450 with a 6 speed and the twin turbo Powerstroke, I let him drive it and he came back impressed. Claimes the powerstroke is still faster, but that it is faster than his friends Dodge with a cummins turbo.

  • lol! ur truck is like the bumblebee from the transformers movie. when sam goes to buy the yellow-peice-of-*woah nelly!*-version. it's all old, with a custom paint job that's faded. the chevy emblem is like the new engine inside bb's hood. oh, and if ur lucky, ur truck'll transform and get get a new vehicle mode!

  • We will see in a year or so, I think it will transform Nicely :D

  • lol! u wish it would turn into a million dollar truck!(bb's 09\08 concept version)

  • I would be happy if it would turn into a Topkick. I love those trucks there is a black crewcab in Hammond La for sale, been there for months but they are just asking too much for it. it looks EXACTLY like Ironhide, but it is the older more square body style. For me that is a huge plus as I like Boxy trucks :D

  • so ur more into calssy cars? (classics) and i do agree with you there. topkick is nice! the fast action battler version of ironhide has a square body i think.

  • lolz thats my dads previous car

  • Your dad lives in Leroy, La?

  • lol, I don't think Bikertrah would want a Topkick.

    8 Mpg.

    that's not good.

  • Thats 2 more Miles to the gallon than this beast gets.

  • 0_0

    damn.

  • Yeah, thats why I also have the white car, it gets 31 miles to the gallon. After I put the Diesel in this truck (Code for it ain't going to happen most liekly) I am hopeing for about 18-19 MPG

  • Man I was wondering the other day if chain wallets are still fashionable - I'm glad I'm not the only one considering still wearing one

Cool truck, so far I've only had cars though

  • I dont care about it being fashonable. I just have lost too many wallets/checkbooks riding, this way It stays with me :)

I wore that chain today going up and leading singing in my mothers church so I hope it is still kinda fashionable though :D.

  • iwe never lost a whallet or a key, they are chaind to me, so is my cellphone around my neck:) therefor they are awesome

  • Damnit... I erased my other comment I left for you "now thats a video we have to see" because I miss read it.

If I ever lead singing there again I could get my brother to film me from the balcony. he runs the projector.

  • whooow that was a nice truck, i like to help in my grandpas autoshop, tghow i can shitte about cars they are darn entertaining, im lerning. that truck looks really nice. fun art would have been if you just walkd around another guys truck and just wear lucky it was unlockd. i was kidding, so in part 2 you transform it, and part 3 ur the headmaster?

  • Nope, Powermaster.

:P your nuts you know that right?

  • yes i knew that, thats wuy i didnt have a cradle i slwwpt in a nut sack, from brazil. powermasters are awesome. if im not mistaken, they wear uesd to filter out the radioactive crap from the transformers.... did u eat a lot of led as a kid?

  • Well we had lead plates, lwead forks, Lead toothbrushes, lead based toothpaste, and lead socks.

I got plenty of lead in my system.

  • The bit about walking around any random truck is hilarious

  • man that vido would have been intresting, we see mr.biker walk for like 3 minutes around a car, giving us a very proferonal speach about it, brakes in (in a leagal way) and then some old guy comes oout and screams at him. im just kidding mr.biker, you are aweosme and so is the rest. ok?

  • LOL how do you legaly break into someones truck :). but thanks

  • The only way too legally break into someones truck is if that someone is YOU. lol

  • **nice shoes** just kidding. uuummm... what where those magazines on the seat in there???(by the way, im looking at getting a truck)(im going to avoid anything American, however, i think the only kinds of trucks you can get are American)(then again, i dont know crap abour cars).

  • Cycle Magazine and Cycle World.

What kind of truck do you want and what do you need it for? If you just need somethign to throw a dressed in the back once in a blue moon get a toyota. Haul your buddies truck on a trailer, get a one ton.

there is no reason I would have ever bought this truck except that I need something to pull my 4runner. Toyota does not make a truck up to the task (the new Tundra maybe but that is 38 grand)

    Dont Dis my boots :D

  • they're made for walking. :D
