  • December 29? That's my birthday. And I want to be a pilot. Hope no bad luck there :\

  • Poor piloting.

  • No disrespect but these pilots are fools!

  • @weirdcitykid

Oh great - and they wait until the final minute to tell me the pilots are ghosts!!! How do I delete my comment please - wasn't pilot error please oignore previous comment bad auto pilot bad training.

  • @weirdcitykid u direspecting my father you prick!

  • @ilias2oo6

No you should have read my next post - I admitted I got it wrong. I commented too early.

  • great, must have been a great night out before this for the pilots

  • 7:08 Sgt major plumley?

  • Actually, "heavy" is attached to an aircraft callsign for aircraft weighing over 250,000 lbs, the only exception to this rule is the 757 because of its propensity to create extreme wake turbulence...

  • Never await those things which seem likely to be finished, one's work is always in progress until that plane is SAFELY secured and ALL the PAX have off-boarded.

  • Lol fat guy can't fit in the hole

  • They could have done a belly landing

  • Homosexuality is an abomination.

  • why didnt they just have a emergency langing and hope that the front gear was down.

  • @wizzair1313 Risk dying on a runway crash (Harder than a swamp!) and destroy a 50 million dollar plane or... get it checked out visually by another airtcraft or flyby on the runway with a check by the control tower. Hmm tough decision...

  • @coffeecation Well he could have attempted an approach and warn the tower about the problem and if the gear was not down he could have done a go-around and prepared the cabin for an emergancy landing. Plus MANY failed nose gear landings turn out successful.

  • don't get me wrong, i love ACI but why do they almost never get the flight deck instruments right? They look futuristic compared to the real Tri-Star. And there were no glass cockpits back then. It's like they use the same cockpit for all their episodes.

  • @dave46563 Go back to the early seasons of ACI, they used much more accurate cockpits back then.

  • ooh da blinky light!

  • What? No warning of low altitude? Fail plane.

  • @TomcatBlackAce many many airplanes only give out a warning signal if they are about to crash - the aircraft was not low enough for that.

  • @Tabby266 true. and also because the gear was down there was no "to low terrain" warning .

  • 2:40 OJ Simpson!

  • Damn that light bulb.

  • crocodiles uff

  • Only in America would that happen -_- 4 crew stareing at the light and not reading the most important equipment? Why weren't they on autopilot on holding/ approach anyway WTF.. Thats the most rookie error I've ever seen.

  • Ah, Florida.... you gotta love those jet-fuel filled swamps... xD

  • 1:00 if dont want to know what will hapen

  • if this were to happen to a plane in daylight wouldn the pilot just fly over the airport to preform a visual check to see if the nosegear is down?

  • that captain is really grouchy

  • i think they should of do a fly by or a touch and go to make sure or call for an emergency landing

  • this is the kinda thing they should play on international flight :P

  • @mrsubsciberx, aw come on man. no. :(

  • omg at least when valujet crashed into the evaglades it was a real emergancy

  • wen the autopilot is on and the handle is touched the autopilot switchez off!

  • Pilots were retarded pricks

  • How about they take their fucking seat belts off then wiggle the light, is it really that hard?

  • i would just ask the fat ass to go and check the front landing gear... then i will start a emergency landing

  • chinese aircraft have camera on the belly

  • @TheDreamer138 and name a chinese passenger jet?

  • @win7sony ARJ

  • The narrator said "the L-10 tristar is one of the best planes equipped with the autopilot" yeah right, losing altitude and crashing into the swamp

  • @MrLuckyjack777 It was the pilot wich hit the autopilot switch so it turned off and the plane descended

  • @BraeDoktor he pulled on his control stick, and therefore the pressure was enough to disengage the autopilot, it was a $12 light bulb, that was of course what the title of the episode said " Fatal distraction" all 4 crew members did a terrible job

  • @MrLuckyjack777 at that moment of time jackass.

  • Before LED lighting I see...!

  • they could have said it was and emergency landing and landed even though it it did not have a light, the fact that little problems cause huge problems, i haven't seen the whole thing i just paused it so it can buffer.

  • THX for the upload :-)

  • "Actually has the ability to land the plane on it's own"

  • Well, I have nothing to say about such a stupic mistake.

  • Man instrument fixation is a bitch...well actually it is a lightbulb..

  • I HAVE NO SPEAKES

  • Eww a swamp D:

  • why is the engine two failure light warning on at 6:25.the engine definitely did not fail.

  • that pilot is a dick

  • they could had just swapped the light bulbs with one of the working ones.

  • @matatan69 That is so true....Why not? Just use one for the air conditioner or something unimportant!! No excuse here. Dumn accident.

  • I remember reading the book "Ghosts of flight 401" as a kid and being fascinated by it, as well as spooked. : )

Nothing like seeing a person you recognize and know to be dead's head in a microwave oven during flight!

  • I'm on a plane tomorrow as well haha.

  • 5:09

  • WTF! is wrong with people??

  • pilots r trained 4 emergency situation but when, one arise they all focus on one problem, what happen 2 the CRM?

  • on the info section you talk about the LOT flight, yeah that was caused by a mantufacturing problem and subsequent loss of hydraulics...

  • LoL...look at them, with their "first class service",tucking into Ferrero Roche choccies,LoL!!How very glitzy for them,LoL!!And what the hell is that silly bitch screaming "nobody light a MATCH" for??What kind of arsehole would stagger away from a fukkin PLANE crash they've juss been in...covered in JET fuel, and spark up a FAG????"Oh my God...that was a close one...man...i need a cigarette" covered in jet fuel????!!Anyone that had THAT thought in THAT situation DESERVES ta be toast,LoL!!

  • @TheMrMarilyn they were on about light a match IN ORDER TO SEE.

  • @DLPBurke I KNOW what she was saying it for!!What I was saying, was ANYONE that staggers away from a PLANE crash, covered in JET FUEL,and then wants to light a MATCH almost deserves to go up in a flash!!

  • @TheMrMarilyn I always keep my cigs in my pocket in case we crash in the middle of nowhere I can have a smoke. I would be that arsehole.

  • @laughingmyturbanoff1 How refreshing to come across someone who knows exactly what they are!!

  • @TheMrMarilyn I know right.

  • This is the ideal inflight movie for a trans-Atlantic flight in the middle of the night

  • Trust americans to find them in such a situation

  • Trust americans to find them in such a situation

  • ihop! got a good pancake there! MMMMMM!

  • Idiots.

  • dume ass poilts

  • hellhole?

  • Comment removed

  • stupid video.

  • "NOBODY LIGHT A MATCH!" err... I thought electricity makes Jet Fuel burn O.o

  • if they have a doubt then generally aircraft make a low altitude pass along the airport asking the towe if the can see all the gears are down..

    R I P

  • blow on it? thats how i fix my nintendo games.

  • well i guess the pilots of aloha airlines flight 243 were much better they faced the nose gear problem while a third of the fuselage were gone

  • when was this?

  • @FelleFlowify As it's mentioned in 1972

  • This accident was a "comedy" of "what ifs?". Both the copilot and the pilot had individual computers that provided input to one of the autopilots which maintained altitude. This autopilot could become disengaged by a simple push or pull on the control yoike causing the computer

  • Ok, Such an idiot! only Aloha arlines flight 243 and jetblue flight 292 had landing gear failures. So apparrently, it is a 0.001% chance of double failures. only 0.01% of flights crash for ANY reason. Stupid.

  • most advanced pessenger jet in the world...what...cameras dont tell lies

  • gila tuuh gara2 ngurusin lampu aj tu pesawat ludes

  • why wherent the pilots alert

  • ok cool thanks for that

  • why do they always say heavy

  • @stpetersburg 'Heavy' aircraft refers to aircraft capable of takeoff weights of more than 255,000 pounds. They are refered to as 'heavy' due to the massive wake turbulence they generate, affecting other aircraft.

  • @ghostintheshelll

I hope these days someone has had the basic idea of using fibre optic cables on the body of the plane, so that the pilot can see any part of the plane's exterior if needed.

  • @ghostintheshelll Thank you! I've been wondering so long.

  • @ghostintheshelll Thankyou i've always been wondering the same thing

  • @ghostintheshelll empty wheight, right?

  • @ghostintheshelll you've just answered my unspoken question. i used to think it was because they had a lot of fuel, but then i was like 'no, if they're landing, they've chewed up heaps of fuel, so that can't be it'

  • @stpetersburg heavy means that they have higher fuel in their aircraft, so when there flying a long range wide body aircraft they have full tank of fuel so they say Heavy. its the Fuel that makes the plane heavier than the passenger and cargo.

  • @stpetersburg they say heavy zauz plane is full of fuel full means full if fuel less then half the dont call heavy understood budy i am tryinng to teach yu in children manner don mind yu will understand

  • @stpetersburg heavy means with passengers ..i am led to believe

  • @stpetersburg Because the plane is heavy! DUH

  • @stpetersburg basically what he's trying to say is that the plane is over weight. If they weigh more than a certain amount, then their considered "heavy" so its added to their call sign..

  • @Boy4321100 thanks for that... but they can still land safely over weight

  • @stpetersburg yeah true.. :)

  • Sad to think so many ppl died because three pilots were all focusing on a light bulb. If they weren't sure if the gear was failing, they shud have prepared for landing w/ caution.

  • @goldheartagram777 i dont know if this works at night too, but they could have also done a flyby so that the tower could comfirm the gear is down, then land with caution in case the gear is not propperly locked

  • @goldheartagram777

    hindsight is always 20/20

  • @goldheartagram777 Yes if the gear wasnt deployed it would land and scrape the ground instead of smashing the ground.

  • it's hard to imagine ATC could miss out on something that serious - if they knew the plane was on a critical altitude, shouldn't he have reminded the crew as a precaution? why do people think things like that are "normal"?

  • when they tested the lights the nose gear light failed the test it means that the bulb is damaged .but they did not realise it. what a great crew

  • @mohad192 no, they were considering the possibility of a double failure, e.g. both the bulb burnt out and the landing gear failed. an extremely remote possibility, quite paranoid of them really. the odds of something going wrong while you circle has to be higher than a double failure.

  • 1)They forgot to turn on landing gear lights that's why he can't saw anything.

2)Without a clear picture of the situation you can't take decision. You can't just say "ok,i don't know if the gear is up or down, i will land anyway because i'm a dawn good pilot".It's unsafe.

  • plus you can let the gear drop and lock by its on weight. and even if the nose gear is up you can still land... its been done several times

  • well if u cant see if ur fucking nose gear is out then do a fly by over the airport and ask the tower if they see your nose gear or not. a landing gear isnt hard to see people in the tower have binoculars. and you can see it with the naked eye i know its pitch black outside but the nose gear has lights on it so no lights means gear up lights means gear down.

  • wow

  • wow the cockpit looks very squishy

  • Must have camera around outside the big plane.

  • @nuisurapong we need a new black box:

    cameras.

*shows what happions in copet pasinger cabien cargo and whe out side of the craft.

*the cameras show the landing gear and the camera allows the pilot to see if landing gear is down if the lights are not working.

  • yeah the first thing I would do after being in a jet crash is light a match not

  • I remember watching the 1978 TV movie "Crash", which told the story of Eastern 401.

  • Yeah, and remember Ernest Borgnine starring in "The Ghost of Flight 401", based on a book by the same name?

Don't look now, but that microwave in the galley is looking back at you!

  • LOL, Bob
