  • Thank you for your video! I just became interested in cooking Indian food, and all of the ingredients and methods are so foreign to me I was getting overwhelmed. Your simple step-by-step video gives me the confidence to start learning more!

    One comment - I do not have a pressure cooker, so in future recipies, please mention an alternative method for the pressure cooker step. Thanks!

  • there r two different cooking time for dal & spinach. pls.try adding chopped spinach as soon as u open the cooker& close for 5 min. It'll be more nutritional.

  • I am making dal again and play the video as I cook... it's very comforting and relaxing to hear your voice in the background :-)

    (I heard that onion/garlic is a good substitute for taste of hing, but that the counter-effects of asefetedia are not necessary for mung dal... this is because mung dal does not make problems with air in the stomach lika channas or other types of dals)

  • I tried this one today .. very delicious ! thanks for the recepie. i did some experiment. i had 3 whistles with the pressure cooker. quciker and blends all the ingredients bettter..

  • i don't think mixing hing with onion is good...

  • That is a very, very tempting recipe. Thank you for showing us how to make it. I buy my papadam, too. It's just much easier than trying to make it.

    I'm lucky because we have a large Indian community in my city, so I can buy all of the ingredients locally. But other people can find everything they need from online stores. Therefore, these dishes are available to almost everyone.

    I tried this recipe, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... I ate it for 2 days, unfortunately my uncle passed away in october so i couldnt have a party for diwali in my house, but I will next year, and will let you know how it goes.
