Johnny Beckman was the BEST WEATHERMAN in Atlanta history...his sense of humor was was known throughout the TV industry. Gave it all up in 1993 to ride motorcycles...GO JOHNNY!!
@MrFilmMakerNumber2 Actually it was quite a while after, about a hundred and ten years. And Channel 2 was/is an ABC affiliate, so the New Yorkers were there in 1978 as well. Sherman just must have run out of matches someplace around their studio ;)
I'll never forget Monica Kaufman in 1978 reporting on the Sex Pistols concert in Atlanta. She basically told parents to lock their kids inside.
