I've been having problems with mine saying "drive busy" when I'm recording, and then it wont play or let me record. I have tried initializing the card and it'll work fine for 5 mins or so and then the same thing, how do I solve this problem?
I brought this DvD ( excellent) and lost it ! So I am having to buy it again!! But why do you only give paper manuals that take you all day to understand how to do minor things, when your DVD shows me in seconds. We do not want manals we are lazy muscians we want you to show us. Would rather pay extra and have an instrucion DVD. You are missing a trick here does anybody else give away DVD instruction manuals, might be a good selling point!!
I have recorded some songs on my system 900 on song list 16. To get to the list I go to utility hit select and find 16 to get them. How can I burn those to a CD?
I'm new to this type of recording and I just bought the BR900CD Ver. 1, (I finally put to rest a 4 track Tascam cassette recorder) Does anyone have some pointers before I get started (acessories, or recording tips, etc.. I'm using a mac osx laptop also) I'm An aggressive metal to melodic acoustic song writer (If thats help with the pointers) dcraniumvex @ gmail
Muddled my way through most of the technical stuff, but I,m still unable to send uploaded trax from my computer to other people (they play om mine but not there,s). If anyone could shed any light on this I would be most gratefull.
The guy knows what he's doing but does'nt know how to explain it properly.on the Boss 900
If I want to lay a built in drum track down so I can play along with it ....how is it done. surely one does'nt leave the drums till' last as his explanation seems to imply. I'd really like to know....bought one of these over a year ago....hardly touched it because of that drum problem.......I have the video....
@steve999m ..I'm afraid I set the BR900 aside a while ago...could not get to grips with setting a drum track up to play along with......I must be missing something thats maybe obvious......could still use some help.......
help please :) iya just got the dvd manual, helped a lot, now im just wondering what would be the best way to record live drums ie a proper kit, would it be best to plug condenser mic in as an input and record that way or use the built in mic or what?
i have just bought the br900 and need help! i have recorded three tracks (guitar and bass and lead guitar) and now don't have any idea what to do, i am struggling with how to put the drums onto it and also just making it just one track so i can put it on my pc.
Someone please answer this question for me ? I own the Boss Micro BR and really like using the Mp3 Trainer feature it contains. Does the BR 900 CD have this same feature within it ? I am currently contemplating purchasing the 900 CD but it must have this feature or I don't want it !
Wonder if you or anyone can help me. My br900 is not giving me a clean sound. It's more like a distorted sound. I'm not sure if I'm connecting it correclty or if the memory card is bad. I hadn't use in a while and now that I brought it out again I can seem to figure it out. Please help
Yeah we use a zoom H4n into channel one on the br900 and the other channe on the br we line in a mini mixer with 2 mics for guitar and bass, the vocals are done using the zoom, the quality is outstanding, we mix it all back into the zoom at 24bit @96khz then export to the pc and whammo shit hot recordings..onto a cd, pro tools is great but analog is better...
Help! Does anyone know a way to unlock a protected song on the hard drive? I accidentally protected something when I thought I was going to the compact flash card. There must be SOME way to get this thing off the internal memory. Please!
the buttons on these click. it gets old after about ten minutes. plus you have to use the arrow keys to navigate. it sucks. the only cool thing is the burner
I've got one of these, but I'm not sure how to burn songs to CD. Ca someone help me? When I try and burn it instead of having the whole song, on track one will be the rhythm guitar, on track 2 will be the bass ect. How do I put them all together?
I've purchased this BR900CD recorder in the hope of producing songs with high enough quality to sell via itunes or, CD.
I've just started to read the instruction manual & DVD but, I've been told that Pro Tools 8 is what I shd spend time learning to use or, use a professional recording studio
Can anyone help with this please?
Is this Boss BR900CD worth time learning &, can it produce broadcast quality CDs on par with a pro recording studio?
I use a BR900CD primarily for my recordings which i have since put on myspace and cd etc etc. I would recommend it. The only thing I would say is that, you may need a bit of patience to work your way round figuring it out and discovering the things its capable of. My initial recordings on it were not too good to begin with in terms of sound, but once ya begin to master it and get to grips with it, you can make some very nice recordings on it. So yea id recommend it :D
freaking RAD can this be done with the same screen setup with the br1600cd? and can you mix different beats to make a whole song like patterns on fruity loops? Thanks!
How do I set the starting point of the music and the end so time stops running? I read the part of scrubbing in the manual tried a lot of things but still kept running. Please anyone, hope you can help me. Thanks.
can anyone help me please i wanna know what the quality is like if u bring 8 drum tracks from a p.a intil a single track on this? does it lose quaility?
just push the record mode button until u get to bounce select the track that you would like to bounce all of the tracks to , set ur volume levels, press record then play untill it finishes then press stop and all ur whole song will be on that one track...once its there you can just move that one track to ur computer and everything should b how u set it....hope that helped...lol
Thanks for you help about the memory card! I hope they'll let us trade the 4 GB card for some 1 GB cards. Your info was very helpful...THANKS AGAIN and THANKS FOR THE GREAT TUTORIALS!
We just bought the BR900CD and we want to get a bigger memory card. They said we need a compactflash card, so we bought one, but it says it is not a supported card when we put it in the machine. We were told all compactflash cards are the same...but I'm thinking we were told wrong. It is a CompactFlash SanDisk ultra II 4.0 GB card. We read the initialization info, but can't figure out how to get past the "unsupported card" that comes up. If we have the wrong thing, what do we need. THANKS!
I need some help with creating percussion patterns and arrangements with the boss BR-900 CD. I've had it for three days now but I just can't figure out the patterns and arrangemnts thingy even after exhaustively reading the lengthy manual! Is there a video demonstration somewhere? Thanks.
This is going to sound retarted, i have recorded using the 4 tracks of the 8. when i go to burn it, i can only burn track 1 and 2 or track 3 and 4. how do i get it to burn the whole thing?
Use the Bounce mode to bounce all your 8 track AND the rhythm track AND any open input onto the second set of v-tracks on tracks 7 and 8. When you press the rec mode button to bounce, you'll see the tracks you are to bounce to on the screen. They should say 7/8 - 2. Then bounce all the track to these tracks and burn from 7/8-2. Cheers! David Wills
@ProAudioDVDs I recently took an early blues vocal and put some music to it on my unit. Is there anyway of recording a realtime drum performance to the whole track? The tempo of the sample is very free and changes throughout, so its not in time to a click, and a custom pattern on loop would be out of time. I would normally use a computer for this kinda thing but wanted to know for doing quick demos.
I keep hearing about the great sound quality, but I think I could get a better recording from one of those mini tape recorders they use at press conferences. Maybe its the genre of metal/rock that you guys like everything distorted and scratchy, but its unlistenable to my ears.
The recorder works just fine if you know what you are doing. When you really get into what you are doing you can do alot of cool shit with the recorder. You have the option to master and tweak alot of stuff and make your music sound pretty sweet. its digital and not analog so you should have to problem with crappy digital recording problems. It really helps to have good instuments as well. You need good guitars and keyboards...
Been looking for a digital recorder to do live hip hop beats, mainly because they are much cheaper than a hardware midi sequencer. These Br - line recorders seem great in concept, but so far every recording I've heard online has sounded like pure garbage. Is it just my speakers/internet connection, or do you ppl actually think this stuff sounds good?
