The Mario movie! I think its time that somebody writes a new script around the Mario universe, and recycles the same score music by Alan Sylvestri, but I'd still like to hear George Clinton's version of "Walk the Dinosaur" if a Mario movie with the rewriting of its storyline is made. Thats how awesome it is, in such that it would have another chance for success if it wasn't for all these discrepancies that give it "2 thumbs down" by Siskel and Ebert.

this may be as accurate to the games the same way the Titanic animated musical may be for what really happened, but hey! they tried their best, the main reason this movie got bashed it's because it is nothing like the games, if it was like the games it would be more dope.

This movie was a little out there, but it's been given too much of a bad reputation. Strip away the video game license, and it isn't nearly as bad. Just a quirky sci-fi movie.

And doing things that could easily be achieved on a computer since we, humans have advanced our technology to allow us to do so is better than a shit, real life substitute? You don't know shit. Practically everything is computer made, from movies to cartoons to commercials, killing the actual acting talent one can nowadays only find in theaters (which sooner or later will be computerized as well).

If appreciating perfomance talent one hardly sees nowadays makes me a wannabe old school nostalgic 12 year old, then so be it.

@Raiigen There's appreciating something, and there's being a jackass over it. There's nothing wrong with acted movies, but you shouldn't denounce a freaking genre just because you prefer it. I'd rather watch a good CGI movie than this joke of a movie (I watched this because I was curious). Computers are not killing talent, people are. Acted movies are not going to die out soon, they're the fucking majority.

Did I mention I didn't like CGI? No. I said I preferred acted movies over CGI, but that doesn't mean I dislike it. And you're right, people are killing the acting because they don't look for talents as they used to. Any derp can be an actor. Look at Justin Bieber or Stephenie Meyers; shitty skills, but still extremely famous.

I don't mind CGI, but getting every single movie they put in front of you to be CGI, I'm sorry, but that's like eating the same thing every day.

@Raiigen Actually, I'm pretty sure it's "shitty" because the effects are ugly - not by virtue of being practical effects, but by being genuinely ugly in terms of design and function - the script is piss-poor, the performances are dire (but when they're working with what they've got, can you blame them?) and it's generally bizarre and tangential and not at all faithful to the games.

@JacOak It's true that this movie recieved a lot of negative critiques and that it's far from the original games, but tell me one game-based movie that isn't. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was based on comics and is filled with errors and failures, but that doesn't make it a bad movie.

Anyways, my point is that movies today isn't about acting or passing a message anymore, it's all about selling and making money. The 3D alone is getting on my nerves more than the CGI, to be honest...
