  • Beautiful Song!

  • This song and video are sooooooo un·be·liev·ably adorable....From the 1985 album "The Head on the Door"......-In Between Days- .......All day long

  • LOL nice fuckin song

  • they should be here in L.A

  • very good

  • If its shit then why do you make the effort to comment it?

  • without you...

  • this makes me miss the Lovecats video. They should ALL be like that one!

  • I love this song.

The Cure wrote a lot of great hits, but this is by far and away the one that wins the race, for me.

    Cheers Robert!

  • for me, it's between this song and the track they did specifically for the scene in the movie The Crow called Burn. Two amazing songs. Im just going to shut up and let this song blare!

  • man this songs brings back so many memories

  • the first time i heard this song was in the summer of 85. it was the summer that i got my first kiss and my first beer. thanks robert smith for this great song.

  • The Cure is awesome. I wish I had known about this band earlier in my life.

  • If Smith leans toward depression in writing, as we know he does, or melancholy at least, what I am trying to say is, it's all right. We love him for what he is and for what he gives us. Generations already may have wanted exactly that from the Cure. Older fans like me look beyond any of that, any characterization of Smith's mood to revel in the genius of the man, and to be thankful for the gift of this music that I honestly would not want to live without.

  • the cure are fucking indie how cud they ever be emo singing uplifting songs like this and the rest, there love will tear us apart cover is fucking awsome

  • Hey fellow Cure fan shambles, In Between Days is a classic Cure song for sure, and maybe one of their greatest, but Smith wrote a kind of typical depressing Robert Smith song here that maybe sounds uplifting if you're not listening close to what he is saying. He is talking about the fear of aging and what kind of loss aging will bring, maybe loss of his love. "so scared he shivered like a child", he feels frightened when one day is spent away from his lover. Mary? But we love it, it's Smith!

  • Awesome ! I just added it to my 80s channel !

  • I have all the albums of Cocteau Twins

  • The socks coming out frome the piano were not in the original version.

  • Yeah what's with the socks?

  • ahhhhh ! 1985 comes flooding right back.

  • I completely agree with you.. but listen to the lyrics..

Sad song with a happy instrumental.

  • theyre not gothic they were post-punk

goths like sharp objects and skulls and blood and stuff

  • The Cure went through a goth phase, go listen to Pornography, you'll know what I'm talking about.

On a different note, The Cure defies description. They are The Cure, they play Cure style music, that's just how it is.

  • mi top 3 de los temas de esta banda:

    1_ pictures of you

    2_ just like heaven

    3_ in between days

  • eaa

    el mio es

    1_ charlotte sometimes

    2_kioto song

    3_love song

    ^^

    saludos

  • they influenced the gothick

  • I here this song the second before I get up in the morning =)

  • i love the cure...really amazing songs! they look like gothic but they´re not

  • I really dont Understand why some teenages say The Cure is a Gothic Band, Its amazing, The cure was Punk in the 80's, with "Im a cult Hero" and " I dig you", Now they do The cure Music, But they are not gothic please.

  • As an old timer who was there.. we used to call this kind of music and dress "Progressive" . Like the word Emo these days we used to say we were "progressive" as with the type of music.. :-)

  • What Emo?,what's an Emo? don't compare Emos or whatever with The cure Please, Im saying The cure is not a Gothic band, they do The cure music, and in the end of the 70's they Did Punk Music influenced by the "Move" Brits in that time, The cure is not a gothic Band, have you listen to " Friday im in love", "Love of Cats" or " Close to me"?, are they Gothic?

Robert Smith always said his favorite singer is David Bowie, and all this people in Youtube say The cure is a Gothic band,Pathetic.

  • this is not progressive at all, its post punk.

progressive = yes, ELP, soft machine, dream theatre etc...

progressive is music that blurs the formal distinctions by extending sections or inserting musical interludes, often with exaggerated dynamics to heighten contrast between sections and often avoids common popular music song structures of verse-chorus-bridge.

  • I have a question. i just now, for the first time, am listening to The Cure. I listen to a lot of Reel Big Fish and Gold Finger, and noticed that they cover some of The Cures songs. What genre is The Cures music?

  • Comment removed

  • Gothic rock? HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

    LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

They're far too upbeat for Gothic rock.

  • yea they're too happy for Got rock.

  • read the lyrics. they're not that happy

  • yea I mean their sound is happy.. but well in Pornography album is something from got.

  • dudes, THE CURE IS EXACTLY THAT MENA,,, THE CURE,, THE BEST, I LOVE THOSE GUYS, THEIR MUSIC MADE ME GET DEPRESSED AND GET INTENSE,,, COOL HUH? LOL ,, LOVE THE CURE FOREVER

  • When I was little, my Dad made a 3-hour long video mix and when I saw this in it, I kept watching it over and over, and since then I've loved The Cure.

  • the best

  • luv2cure

  • I love the effect you get when you put a camera on a fixed object.

  • The Cure is like a weird, healthy, awesome drug. I get one of their melodies in my head and feel anxious, then when i listen to them I get this intense, wholey satisfying feeling of release and euphoria. No other band does that for me. I daresay they are the perfect band, even more than my beloved Floyd.

  • without your own songs ,but it shows the different with another songs.

    saludos loreto-peru

  • I agree with you, but i must ask... why did you post this here? They won't listen to you.

    P.S.

You should try to avoid typos. People take you less seriously when you have typos everywhere.

  • Back when The Cure was at its prime, they had an ad on tv for a kind of pay by the minute number where you could listen to Robert Smith talk. In the ads he would sit there and say, "I'm Robert Smith and I'm sooooo depreesed!"

  • i reeeally love this song..

  • Comment removed

  • cooooooooooooollllllllllll!!!!!!!!! i love the song,so i recommend this song to be covered by the other bands out there including us! modern emo sucks!!! this is the classic one!!!!

  • Sigh.. in the song Robert says "yesterday I got so old it make want to cry". Well I was a teenager when this song was out! Lol I loved it then and now. Now I am old and it makes me want to cry... well not really lol. Good song! Good Times!

  • le sigh

  • me too....**sigh**

  • On KROQ! in the 80s the commercials for the cure, when they had concerts would say....LIVE...IN CONCERT...THE CURE

  • That seems like an odd thing to say. They were adverts for the Cure in concert you say?

  • Yo, Goddess of Fountain VaLLeY CaLifornia. The choice was made...I fucked-up big time, Realizing it, after 2 decades, makes it even more fuk !!

  • First album I bought was Head On The Door and never looked back since.

Over 20 years a fan and counting........

One of the greatest bands of the 80's.

    Hugs,

    XxxMelxxX

  • this video is epic

  • Just so love this - My all time FAVE Cure song. I tell my teenage sons - Robert Smith one of the first Goths Ha Ha

  • ssoooo unigue..

  • I just catched the fact that 1979 from the smashing pumpkins is heavly influcenced by this song. Even the clip is a wrinkle of this song.

  • that s right

  • 1985 WAS THE BEST YEAR ON THIS PLANET.... perfect.

  • '85 was quite possible the best year ever on this planet. Prolly from like '80 until '89 was pretty much epic. Music was great, great looking chicks everywhere w/o cell phone's or blackberries. Racing cars and raising hell, we all had a new lease on life too because we were all young. Stay gold ponyboy!

  • I remember when a lot of UK bands and import records were popping up, I mean you could see cocteau twins and then turn around and go see great USA bands like X and B52's and then go the following week bam, bam to see another indie band like Let's Active..then it all stopped. My fave mags too like Smash Hits and New Musical Express...No more bands from abroad could come over and if they did they would be taxed big time. It all just stopped.

  • well said my friend.

  • Universal should really update the video & sound quality, this is embarrassing. A great song sabotaged by amateur uploading.

  • Fave :)

  • happy memories of when this came out... ahh what freedom the music industry had back then . brings a tear to your eye.

  • Holy cow what a great intro.

These guys are great. Upbeat music with hints of melancholy folded into the lyrics.

  • ..go on ..go on..

  • the cure

  • Cuando cumpli 15 mis amigas me reagalaron The Head On the Door.

  • This is probably in my top 5 favorite cure songs

  • : )

  • Robert Smith looks completely evil at 2:58 and Evil never looked so good.

  • i like this song slower, like when RS did this with Jonathon Davis of korn

  • same! that acoustic version of Make Me Bad/In Between Days was gold!

  • its realy good when you reverse it and slow it down, i do that in vegas and it sounds AMAZING

  • I remember in 1985...golden days...

  • ya know, this song makes ya remenisce. I recall the first time i fell in love then had my soul ripped out before my eyes to see and I sorta feel like It never did come back to me. Been a damaged unit ever since.

  • i know what you mean it sure fucking sucks when they do that to you

  • timeless

  • Your own mother.

  • yes very good!

  • Happy song , but depressive song.

Yesterday I got so old I felt like I could Die

Yesterday I got so Old It make me want to Cry.

    OMFG! Dark lyrics.

  • Congradulations, you understand The Cure.

  • congrats, you can't spell congratulations

  • Depressive song, aww.. you're sweet.

  • this is just...soooooooooo.... THE CURE!

  • This music has the kind of melodie that grabs your true spirit and makes you think about your dreams. Sort of depressing because a lot of us are so unfulfilled and far form our dreams. It's a kind of musical honesty it think. I could listent to this if i were happy or sad because it is so greatly presenting that true musical spirit, it encourages one to go for it i think...

  • exelente cancion I love it

  • this 1985 song and 1987Just Like Heaven have similar rhythms and melodies.. they are my 2 favorite Cure songs

  • This album dominated a year and a half of my life in the mid 80s.

  • The cure is one of the most earth shaddring bands ever!and will live longer then cocroches

  • I loved this song when it first came out and remember buying the 7" single.

  • back to a time when life was great. the cure forever !

  • The face paint could be considered ironic, because spock may have found it to be the opposite of his expectations; although that's on him. You all are probably thinking of the word "juxtaposition." Irony can be achieved through juxtaposition. Shit don't they teach you kids anything in school anymore, it just kills me.

  • i love THE CURE i love their songs being stuck in my head all day every damn day!!! after hearing the cure i feel that i can die today without having any regrets!!!!

  • this song has had a stranglehold on my brain this past week. and i don't mind at all.

  • that ain't bad.

  • i feel low today, and THIS, is my cure!

  • esta y boys don't cry, buffff........, me flipan.

  • Cool video, dudes. I'm sick and i need The Cure...

  • withoutyouu!! (8)!..

  • i was 16 when i first heard this song along with the rest of the "head on the door" album. the cure was a band that helped define the 80's......high school, parties, close friends, girlfriends, or rather "girlfriend" who is now and has been my wife for over 16 yrs, and so on. So i need to thank the cure for all the great memories. rock on rob!

  • Do you know what Ironic means Spock?

    Because I doubt it... :/

  • the fact that spocks talking about irony when he doesnt know what it means...isnt that somewhat ironic? OVERLOOADDD

  • no it's not because most people don't know what the definition is. it's constantly being used out of context and you've misused it as well. unless you still find it surprising that people misuse it... it sucks I know. we've got all these words but they don't mean a thing, rock on man.

  • you sound a little pretentious, friend. It is not that schools don't teach as much, it is that there are too many existing distractions in today's technology and society and people put education lower and lower on their priorities. So whose fault is it really? It is the fault of the older generations, such as yourself and those before who shaped society into it's current state so they could make money. That is assuming that you are of a decently matured age, not just some idiot 25 year old.

  • So, on your profile it says you are a ripe age of twenty four. Now that is irony, because when I guessed you to be 25, I was merely speaking of how you sounded like a conceited 25 year old, though I guessed you to probably be in your thirties since you spoke as though you were some majestic elder. Since one definition of irony is an incongruity between actual and expected results, it looks like we have a winner. I am 19, people have always been equally stupid, just under different circumstances.
