Maybe we'd see more of all age cycling in the US if it there were peaceful areas to encourage more people. I get comments all the time from the over 40 group in NYC that they'd like to, but they're just afraid of the car traffic.
@jdlvtrn Look up "subjective safety". Cycling doesn't only have to feel pleasant out in the middle of no-where. The sequence at the end of this video ( 4:40 ) as well as my other videos and many blog posts show the sort of conditions on the way to and from the stiltegebied. It's all pleasant.
The Netherlands seem soooo different than the US of Fat...
In the state of Minnesota, they have some trials, but they are built far from residential areas, making people have to drive cars to reach them... There are no bicycle trials and camping is almost non-exstent from trail to trail.
And as I learned, when the state shut down, all the parks closed.. People who already paid and rode a bicycle had to pack up land leave.. for me it was 40 miles to be turned around.. with a loaded bike.

Fabulous film, David. I remember riding on those very trails and reflecting on how peaceful it was... it's so relaxing.
