I love Ska and one of my friends is a rapper, so we worked together on a few projects (mixing ska with hip-hop) And this was just a test to see how ableton worked. Thx for the comment, Viva la Ska!

My brother-in-law lives in Amsterdam. Small world. What made you connect Bad Manners with the Beastie Boys? Works very well. Very similar to the work of producers 'Children of the Night'. They did ska/house mixes with Ranking Roger from The Beat.

Cool, can you recommend a certain DJ/band from that label? I made this more or less to try out my ableton live to see how it works, found it nice so decided to put it up. Beastieboys/tupac and ska are looking for a better world in which we do not judge people on how they look but on who they are. I made a lot of these kind of remixes, mixing rap with ska (I made ska tracks for a hiphopper from my town) but ska/house is a whole new dimension for me :) so thx for the tip!

Ska originally referred to the noise the up-stroke on the guitar makes.

Ska is also known as Blue Beat, not Bluenote, from the Blue Beat Record Label. The original Two Tone bands were all ska bands.

This Is Ska was originally released by Longsy D (Drummie from Aswad). The genre was skacid, a ska/acid house hybrid.

The moral? Never try to explain ska. It's more complicated than nuclear physics. Just enjoy.

And Bad Manners did appear on Two Tone. Check out the Dance Craze album/DVD. Skatastic.

It is indeed, but the name of the song is "this is ska", two tone is also known as ska revival or second wave ska. (also sometimes Rocksteady or Bluenote)
