Weird posting, ToxicOdiousOne, libraries are a lot more than a roomful of books. Listen to the lady - just as in the States, here in the UK, we have slash and burn cut-happy councillors who see no value in keeping the library system - yet children and adults rely on the library for a vast range of services. Until such time as we have a complete roll-out of fast efficient cheap-as-chips broadband access for all, then the idea that libraries are redundant is elitist and plain wrong.

Libraries are an anacronism. We have internet databases now. Information has been published to be accessed from anywhere. Libraries are a liability for the city as are places of religion. We should replace them with businesses that are staunchly anti union like Walmart.
