Actually, no. He touched The Tail of the fire, which doesn't do any damage. only the front, top and below.

these are NOT good players playing; NIntendo made these levels by these as reference, and then they show it to ya. so its just the software doing this

Wouldn't those metal things hurt cuz it would burn your hand? They were bathed in lava... I guess Mario's gloves are heatproof.

take any free run video on youtube with this game and u get super skills for this stage...it's more awesome than nigahiga and fred combined... scratch out nigahiga...they're awesome too ^.^

To let everyone know, a person does not play super skills. It is a computer controlling what Mario will do next, why don't you watch this video at 0:43? He goes right through the green flame. in other videos mario's legs barely touch the pirahhana plants mouth and if we were to do that we would die.
