  • I have this in my Bookmarks and I play it all the time. Love Estelle's stature.

  • I want this song blasted at maximum volume at my funeral.

  • The Hottest, Sexiest Girl Group Ever. Oh Yea, they can Sing!!

  • Check out the "Ultra Clear" version of this on here... yikes!

  • does snyone thin someone will play Ronnie in the upcoming Bio Pic Phil Spector on HBO?

  • OMG, I'm so in lust with Nedra--forever & ever. Total-class & sexy, Forever. Wolfsky9, 65 y/o.

  • married my current wife in 65..At the time she was a exact twin to nedra..still happily married after all these years.and always a big ronettes fan...have no idea if this was a sub-concience thing at the time.. but it sure worked for both of us..yea.. she still is very sharp..what a lucky guy i am....thanks ronettes..then and now....sure wish i had the ole vette back.

  • I am sooooo addicted to this group. I can't go a day without listening to them! This is my favorite song-very sexy. They are so beautiful!

  • The the little 'Unh' at the end... Makes my hair stand on end. It says a lot about what's waiting for her baby.

  • music that actually touches the soul..unheard of today..10 stars..

  • Still can't believe this was never released as a single, if it had it would still have been in the charts today

  • @rowley1950 Ol' Phil was the dumbass who kept it off the charts!

  • Yeah, this was the best track on the Ronettes' album. Shoulda' been a single cause it would have devastated the charts.

  • I think this may be from the show Hulabaloo. Not sure if I spelled it correctly.

  • Does anyone know what T.V. show this is from?

  • @dslider1 some show that Frankie Avalon was hosting?

  • @dslider1 I think this clip is from the NBC TV show "Hullabaloo".

  • I'm have a new obsession: THE RONETTES!!!

  • @blizzaroxx Join the club, I've had my Ronettes obsession for nearly 48 years! Warning: once infected, there is no cure.

  • @promerops You got that straight!!! As the old song says: "I've got it bad for you girl(s), but I don't need a cure.....I'll just stay addicted,.....".

  • Ronettes !!!!!I love them and this a pretty song!!!!!

  • Hauntingly beautiful! She's so sweet here...

  • i like the way ronnie sings winehouses back to black and then eases her way to this gem

  • Yes... I think the Ronettes were bigger than the Supremes... by far...

  • @MrEdZTV They might have been subjectively better, but objectively the Supremes were far FAR more successful, more or less around the world...

  • @MrEdZTV You got that straight. I takes a lot more than mere numbers on a ranking chart to make a group "the greatest". The Ronettes had something about them that was much greater than the ever changing lineup Supremes.

  • @MrEdZTV As I've always said and will maintain, it takes more than mere numbers on a chart to make a group "#1"!!!

  • The Ronettes - they had so so so much class.... they were really great and they had their concept down so well....

  • you baby by jackie trent is a top northern soul sound, also done by len barry ,jackies version is really top draw though

  • Have got this track by Jackie Trent. (Brill)

  • Sad to watch music talent degenerate from these ladies to Lady GaGa...

  • The guys in my division on the carrier Ranger during the fall of 1964 in the South China sea loved this more than anything.

  • No need for frantic and crazy antics like you see today. Just the music because it is just....good!

  • Were these girls hot or what? Vocally and visually!!

  • @songbuff61 Buddy, I LOVE The Ronettes, too!!! Check out the Facebook page called "The Fabulous Ronettes" if you want to see tons of photos of these exotic beauties from Spanish Harlem.

  • RIP Estelle..my favourite most beautiful and talented Ronette xxx.

  • @calafrazi I totally agree buddy. Sure wished ta hell I could have met her and spoke with her just once.

  • @OVtigerstripe Me too - its a "fantasy" from my youth!!

  • @USAlovesCanada After Ronnie's concert on Long Island in July, I'm going to Estelle's grave site in Harlem and will lay a flower there from myself and a second one for a fellow in South Africa.

  • this shows that a powerful voice can lead. compared to the supremes poor flo she had the voice and got the sack. love these girl group sound

  • djmane1: Thanks for posting these videos. A few months back i even didn´t know there was The Ronettes, but now I can´t help myself atching them whenever is possible. I specially like sweet, gorgeous Nedra.

  • @correolalo Sir, Ohhhhhh yes, Nedra! What a total Babe she was, & how those hips of hers could move! Total Class, & so Sexy.!! Wolfsky

  • @Wolfsky9 Agreed with you, man, but I saw her first! (LOL! Just kidding, pal. Let´s not start one of those senseless figths over comments for YT videos. In fact, I must recognize your good taste in women!)

  • @correolalo So many fans favor Nedra. I favor Estelle slightly but really like them one and all.

  • Every time I see this Vid, I get angina watching 3 of THE HOTTEST ladies of the 60's ; OMG, they were sooo sexy. What a great, great, song! Wolfsky9

  • @Wolfsky9 Damn!!! Are you serious?!! Geez, you really do get turned on!!!!! But, I truly understand. They are my fav girl group and will always be #1 in my mind!!!!

  • saw them at a high school dance live, and the price believe it or not $1.00 course they lipsyc but who cared then

  • should have been a bigger hit!

  • @dean12310 Yeah, you ain't kiddin! I have listened to so many of their songs that I never hear on the radio, most of which I've never in my life heard, and wonder why in G_d's name these songs, like this one, just didn't chart higher?! This song, and so many of their's, really should have charted much, much higher!!

  • gorgeous girls...made some great music

  • One of my favorite songs. The memories flood my mind of a special night years ago with a very special girl.

  • @slave4bbw I listen to this song religiously. I love it. It's one of those songs that really make your day go by better. I miss the 60s. I was born during the late 60's but the music is just wonderful. I wish today's music was created with talent like they had then.

  • damn no girl group can stand up too the Ronettes now and forever

  • Ohhhhh, sooo Sexy, Classy, & Drop-Dead gorgeous, The Ronettes, especially Nedra! Should have been Spector's biggest hit, ever. Masterful. Wolfsky9

  • This is a sleeper song.Could be one of the most creative and gorgeous in pure Ronnette fashion.

  • I never, ever tire of this song, or this Vid; OMG, they were sooooo hot, so classy, & so sexy, all at once! Phil Spector's all-time " should have been a million seller". . Wolfsky9

  • Just curious, was these ladies Hispanic? They look kinda like Filipina. LOL

  • @Manongjojo the two sister are African-American,Irish and Native Indian and their cousin is African-America,hispanic and Native Indian

  • @Manongjojo

The Ronettes are all of the ethnicities Eri777 mentions below, but all 3 identified as African-American.

    Best

  • @Manongjojo Eri777's comment is correct.....they are/were as he said. Estelle and Ronnie were half caucasian and Nedra was half hispanic. Tthe other ethnicities that made them up were one quarter each.

  • This is when they use to try to sell music by *slap head* actually recording a good song rather than recording a shit song and compensating by having the artist boast about himself or making themselves out to be a God.

  • ronettes are just a fantastic group. you hear a song from on the radio and you just gotta crank it!!

  • The best version is jackie Trent.

  • @trevskiman Never heard that version. Tell me, when did that come out?

One of the other songs by the Ronettes is Everything under the sun was recorded by Ike and Tina. It wasn't great sounding.

  • 'haunting' pop quality..

    absoulutely spellbinding sound.

    Spector and the Ronettes

    American originals to be sure

    jctoronto

  • Iconic and ever fresh! One of their best recordings, although never released as a single.

    RIP Estelle.

  • I almost hate to state this...but Ronnie really needed Estelle & Nedra...not to take anything away from her own tremendous talent

  • @SlovakDJH Ronnie could've been a hit on her own. All she needed were backup singles. but i love them as a group.

  • Yeah, I have always loved the Ronettes. It is the Ronettes that are in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of fame...not just Ronnie. But to be fair they did have Phil Spector behind them when they were making those fantastic records. I know Phil initially wanted just Ronnie but those other 2, Nedra & Estelle, really added so much

  • @SlovakDJH Oh yeah, just listen to Estelle's amazing soprano voice for one!! Nedra had such a rich and mellow alto, too!!!

  • 2:25 mmm (yep, that'll do it.)

  • hey darling67 Uhhh yeah ohh yeah. That does it for me too. Ooo!

  • Ronnie Spector is perform Jan 22, 2010 at Beachland Ballroom Cleveland Ohio and Jan 23 at Seneca Niagara Casino Niagara Falls, New York. Ronnie rocks.

  • i couldve gone! ugh!

  • I think this is the sexiest song the Ronettes did. Its so mellow as well.

  • I saw these at a show in London in the 60s and I've been in love ever since, great singing and so so beautiful

  • @freddyscot The Ronettes may not have had multiple #1's but, they truly were a better girl group than The Supremes!!!

  • im so inlove with this song

  • If you like this video...check out "Nednickerson's" re-do of the audio. He times it perfectly and it is a must see for Ronettes' fans:

Ronettes - You, Baby - New Audio

Also...do yourself a favor and scroll around and find more of Nednickerson's audio re-do's of Ronette's videos on here! He has done them all, and they are flawless. You have to work a little to find them, because they are new and don't have too many "hits" yet... Start with checking that above link!!

  • Hey Paul, couldn't see the link here, can you mail it?

  • @ScriptWorker .......Unfortunately, YouTube removed "Nednickerson's" account and all of his videos. So the really nice "You, Baby" reworked audio version is gone. He had the audio matched perfectly and I hate losing that video...along with 3 others, including a re-do of "Ronettzfan's" "Be My Baby" with clean audio. I don't have Nednickerson's E-mail...although I chatted with him often on here using his YouTube address. So I am not sure what happened? Sad day, for all of us.... Paul / Texas

  • You bet it is. Nednickerson guy did terrific stuff and I was wondering exactly the same thing - what happened ....

    :(

  • Best girl group of all time, especially Ronnie!!!

  • the first ever Ronnie Spector Darlene Love A Christmas Gift For You live concerts-- Dec 11 Parilla Pac Montgomery College Rockville MD and Dec 17 Count Basie Theatre Red Bank NJ. The basie show is a special benefit for the Boys & Girls Club of Monmouth County.

  • As 1061andy says, " One of THE sexiest " records of all-time, & oh, they were just soooo hot! Nedra was a "10" for me! Wolfsky9

  • Yeah. a 12 for me!!! go Nedra

  • @Wolfsky9: For me, Nedra is "25+ stars". Cutest one

    in my eyes.

  • Hey Viewers ...

Check this same video out on YouTube listed as: The Ronettes - You Baby The audio has been fixed and it is awesome. Just key The Ronettes - You Baby into the search bar and check it out.

  • Thanks

  • Saw Ronnie last night in Patchogue, LI.. She was great, perfect, and stayed after to sign autographs on anything for 45 minutes. Thanks Ronnie, your a legend and deserve to be one

  • man that you baby still give's you chill's..the best over anything ever recorded...period

  • I think Ronnie should have stepped down off the stage long ago... But I have never qustioned the driving force behind her wanting to stay in the limelight up there, if at all possible. She just LOVES being on stage.... You can see it on several videos on YouTube. On this one, check her expression starting at about 2:02...to 2:06.... She is just loving it up there, enjoying herself. Pure joy. I can get in touch with and respect that. Ronnie, no one can ever say you weren't into your art.

  • @PaulDePace I interpreted that "look" as her feeling the words of love in the song. You think not?

  • Total Class, Drop-Dead Sexy, & what a masterpiece this song is! To this day, I'll never understand why Phil didn't promote & release this as a 45. Oh Nedra, you were sooo hot. Wolfsky9

  • agree great song ive played it 100 times

  • Godesses.

  • untouchable..from any singer or band that is in the buisness today...mile's ahead of that crap today..

  • The best 60s girl groups were the Ronettes & the Shangri-las - and this is one hell of a performance, one of the sexiest records ever.

  • Awesome awesome

  • What show is this performance from- anyone know?

  • How can these girls be sooooo sexy, just standing there, smiling, & gently moving those hips?? They were in a class by themselves, with Nedra, a 14, on the 10-scale!! Wolfsky9

  • Best ever version of this song ,Nedra looks fine ,check out the Len Barry & Jackie Trent versions though there not bad

  • the vandellas > the ronettes> the supremes

  • @1234567maia The got NOTHING on The Ronettes. The Ronettes had a "mystique" about them that placed them above all others. They were special. It takes A LOT more than numbers on a chart to be called "the greartest".

  • @1234567maia What the hell are you talking about?! The only thing about that group that was "special" was some numbers on the Billboard. The Ronettes, on the other hand, were a very special group. They weren't "cookie-cutters"

  • We'll not see or hear the likes of this, ever again. What class, style, & sex appeal off the chart!! The women of today need to take a lesson from these 3 gorgeous girls, on how to do it with Class!! Wolfsky9

  • you got that right, wolfsky9.

  • @Wolfsky9 Yeah, I think that Gaga ought to be first in line!

  • Nedra Talley just knocked me out the 1st time I saw her--& she does today, 46 years later!! Ronettes Forver!! Wolfsky9

  • Sorry if I jumped the gun with my comments...your remarks are duly noted.

  • the pre-decadence-revolution 60s are so great.

  • P.S.S... And who really cares if the girls are spot on with their moves during these videos! They are so good looking they could do anything and get away with it!!!

  • re. Nedra...it might look a little like Nedra is lost in this video, primarily because her background part is so limited and most of the time, she is kind of "up there" not doing to much. But if you check the choreography, she is right on, and so is Ronnie...it is Estelle who is lost! Fact is, in the long haul, Nedra proved to the be sharpest, classiest, most stable, not to mention best-looking Ronette of them all!

  • transportation to another place and time

  • Really good comments on here... I got on a mission to obtain ALL of the Ronettes' recordings (albums and singles) on Colpix, May, and Philles in MINT condition. I also found a mint copy of the Ebony magazine cover they appeared on, and bought some beautiful, historic photos from a professional photographer in England. The records, magazine cover, and photos are now matted and framed in various groupings and hanging on the wall in my home office; beautiful collectibles that I enjoy every day!

  • I have The Box Set with these songs as well as The Other Artists. Phil Spector was nothing short of a genius but after The British Invasion I guess he felt that he couldn't compete with the boys across the ocean.

  • Phil Spector's parents were cousins. Fact. And, not only has he exhibited severe emotional problems over the years, but his only sister did as well. So maybe Phil's issues were genetically programmed? From an upbringing standpoint, his mother and sister (older sister) both doted on him and babied him. His small stature, getting bullied at school and, later, his thinning hair and low self-esteem when mixed with his personal wealth and power insured the train wreck that has become his life.

  • You lucky guy!

  • motown had the supremes everywhere, phil spector was very protective of his ronettes releasing there records for just a very short time while on the charts after that they disapeared into almost mythical status finding there records was next to impossible. phil did not reissue there records for almost 20 years keeping them a great collectors item money could just about buy!

  • I really do think The Ronnettes had what it took to have possibly been The Supremes' contenders as competition as top girl groups of the '60s..they were like The Supremes' streetwise cousins. ;) You could tell by this point they were beginning to perform with more sophistication, maybe in light of The Supremes' ascendence.. But with Spector's grip on them and that overoverpressive same sound of his on every of their records, there was no subtlety or much difference between their records.

  • A wonderful song and recording. The Ronnettes had more unreleased than released songs and any or all of them could have been hits. This is just one masterpiece that has been largely forgotten. It is nice that Ronnie has survived the storm and today is celebrated, honored and still dynamite.

  • You Baby indeed! Talent and beauty superbly showcased.

  • Time passes, but the Ronettes music will last forever! Forever thankful to Ronnie, Estelle & Nedra for their talent & music. They will forever be my favorite "girl" group of all time!

  • Another Masterpiece from Jeff Barry, Ellie Greewich; Only Phil Spector's magic could have made this all-time classic. And yes, Nedra's only Right side in this one. Ronettes Forever! wolfsky9

  • Not Barry/Greenwich this time. It's Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil. This song was done by several artists in the 1965 time period. I never heard or even heard of it by anyone until the 1990s, but since then, I have heard this version as well as ones by Linda Scott, the Lovin' Spoonful, and Len Barry. I've also heard that Sonny & Cher did it, but I've never heard their version. Not to be confused with another song with the same title from the same time period by the Turtles (written by Barri/Sloan).

  • To " rslitman", Excellent call, & U R correct. I went to my " Ronnettes" album & looked for myself. it's easy to get "Weil/ Mann" , " Barry / Greenwich", mixed up. Thank-you for pointing this out. Actually, Sonny & Cher's version is really, REALLY, Lame, so you've missed nothing. And, as much as Brian Wilson loved Spector's music, I always wondered why The Beach Boys never did this great, great song. It is certainly one they could have done beautifully. Just a Classic song. Wolfsky9

  • RIP Estelle Benette

  • @antbanks35 Bennett. Thought you would want to know.

  • 2:15 to 2:20 *sighs* Nedra is so beautiful!

  • Comment removed

  • 2:28 to 2:42 !!!

And she can still shake those hips (see Hall of Fame performance)

  • whats the name of this song?

  • Estelle Bennett.... My favorite Ronette.... may she R.I.P. !! :(

  • OMG when did she die?

  • Estelle died this past Wednesday February 11th in New Jersey. She was 67years old. She will be missed by many fans young and old.

  • What a sweet, romantic song. *sigh*

  • veronica was the only one not lipsyncing

  • the lovin spoonful did a version too

  • Have the Ronettes been inducted into the USA Rock and Roll Hall yet?

  • Yes the Ronettes got inducted I believe in 2007. Way too late. They should of been one of the first. They are No. 1 in my book.

  • @blackkats Yes, on March 12, 2007.

  • This was suppose to be a single, thats why they are doing it on "Hullabaloo".It was NEVER released as a single, just an LP cut on "The Fabulous Ronettes".

  • If that's what happened PS probably wound up kicking himself. This song, as a single, would have gone No. 1.

  • These girls look Hott!!!

  • Thanks love it after Be my baby

  • This is like going back to a hot Sat night in the 60's. Brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for posting it.

  • ...wall of sound...

so interesting the theory...like a physics formula...

interesting the "chemistry" of a girl group/band or male band...seems liks some mystical magic that plays on and on...

and the "struggle" to break away..break ahead...and then ultimately the dis-band of the magic...it burns brightly and then brightly burns out....

we discover the magaic years later....and long for that magic...

    blessings,

    x

  • Wall of Sound- I always wanted to produce girl groups like this!

  • Yeah, I know; that's why I posted, hoping that someone would lend a better ver of it. I have a CD with an exc repro, but don't know how to share it. Any ideas?

  • who's the girl on the extreme right? isn't she cute?

  • That's Nedra Talley, Ronnie's cousin. The girl on the left is Estelle, Ronnie's sister.

  • Somebody please put up a clean version of this beautiful song.

  • Vin,it looks as if this video was taken from a tv show from that period

    Hence the poor sound quality

  • OL Phil Spectre is a work of art thats a ha ha folks he might have been a good producer but hes even a better murderer

  • 天国の音楽だ!!!(号泣)

  • One of the classiest and most talented acts of the 60's. Their music endures.

  • This really should have been a single. The "ohhs" by Ronnie at the end of the song are quite possibly the sexiest thing I've ever heard.

  • The greatest girl group ever!

  • I was only born in 1970 in England. but have always loved this song.

  • Awesome!! Sometimes one forgets just how beautiful these gals were. Interestingly, I washot for Ronnie and her sister, like most I suppose, but as the years rolled on, Nedra Talley's appeal grew more to where now I think she's the hottest AND SHE SURE CAN SWING HER HIPS!!

"You Baby" and "Do I Love You" are my faves. "Do I Love You" is kinda like a faster version of "You Baby". I'm sure everyone here has heard it but if not, search youtube...it's AWESOME,.

  • bert;you baby& I can hear music are my favorite Ronettes songs

  • Beautiful, talented women unlike the hookers that's singing today.

  • My god you're so right criz - superb performers and singers and to look this good. I saw them live in England during this period and no other group has ever impressed me like they did then and still do today.

There is nothing in this modern digital age that can touch them. The songs and the sound are nothing short of brilliant.

  • Question. Is this a Ronettes song that was covered by the Lovin'Spoonful; or a Lovin'Spoonful song covered by The Ronettes?

  • It's a 1964 "Ronettes song" penned by the legendary husband-and-wife team of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil. Among their many other gems are "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and "(You're My) Soul And Inspiration" (Righteous Brothers); "Kicks" and "Hungry" (Paul Revere and the Raiders featuring Mark Lindsay); "On Broadway" and "Saturday Night At The Movies" (Drifters); "Walking In The Rain" (Ronettes); "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" (Animals); and "Rock And Roll Lullaby" (B.J. Thomas).

  • gosh i adore the lovin' spoonful! it was a Ronettes song that was covered by the Lovin' Spoonful

  • This is beautiful video of young Ronettes. The look so fresh; like the young goddesses they were. I still love Ronnie Spector & would love to hear more from all of them. I can't get over the wonderful contributions people make to U-Tube the collective his/her-stories of our lives! Sure do miss my younger days!

  • Wow !!!! This song blew me away. This was the best music and will always be the best. I was born in 1980, but I wish I was born during that time. Love this music and the ronettes.

  • hey andalusian 1980...the 50's&60's were the greatest time in rockNroll...i should know...i grew up during that generation and listened 2 all the greatest music and groups of that time...no other time can compare...it was awesome!!!!and the ronettes, they were HOT!!!!along w/many of the other girl groups...ROCK & ROLL LIVES ON!!!!!!!!

  • Like so many of their songs, wasted as an album cut. Find and listen to "I Wish I Never Saw The Sunshine" and "Everything Under The Sun". Two of their best songs ever!!

  • 45, i don't think that Phil Spector ever allowed those records to be released

  • Another great song by Fabulous Ronettes!! Man, I miss the 60's and 80's music. It was the best decades for music. This girls were hot too!! Yeah......nice!!

  • Jackie Trent used to sing this. Yes, thee Jackie Trent, who along with her husband Tony Hatch, wrote the theme tune to "Neighbours".
