The Sounds of Blackness are a blessed group of family and friends from our blessed Minneapolis community. Sounds of Blackness donated their time to a benefit for the victims of the tornado in north Minneapolis last June. We raised over $30,000 to help pay for motel rooms for those with no home - jobs for youth unemployed - transportation for those without a means. All made possible by the community based artists like Sounds of Blackness. With gratitude.

Thank you to sounds of Blackness and inparticular Dr Gary Dennis Hines, who sent this song to my brother John when he was diagnosed with advanced cancer at only 39. Unfortunately we lost John 3 months later,just before christmas, but Gary kept in touch, and I think it is only now that I understand that maybe this was really meant for us as family.. and for now when we cannot see how to live without John..

My cousin was 18 years old and she just died in a car accident because of a drunk driver. On the way to view her body, I heard this song on the radio. I was in the car saying to myself "She is not dead until I see her for myself." Then I heard this song and it was on the part that said "Stay encoruaged." I immedietly started crying and I found out what this song was called. :)
