  • Harry Belafonte must be proud that Sam Cook sang this song like this.

  • I love this...especially since its about JA. =)

  • Great song from Harry Belafonte !!

  • quality problem. stereo converted to mono but one Chanel is missing. Recommend a re-do, not a complaint.

  • I've always loved this song. I remember hearing it when I was a little girl. It sounds even better with Sam Cooke's beautiful voice. What a talented guy! Too bad he was taken away so soon and so tragically.

  • good

  • Requests: "Oh, Look At Me Now", "Someday", "Running Wild", "Today I Sing The Blues", "Solitude", "Under Paris Skies", "South Of The Border", "I'm Walking Behind You", "Pray", "You, You, You", "Arrivederci, Roma", "London By Night ", "Galway Bay", "Sweet Leilani", "Japanese Farewell Song", "The House I Live In", "The Song Is Ended"... I know these are a lot of songs, but I wanted to put it out there, since you asked. Thanks

  • @casullen Lol! Funny thing is that I have all of the songs listed above but YT has given me a hard time about the whole copyright jazz. They told me one more copyrighted post and they're gonna erase my account. So I'm kinda walkin' on thin ice.

  • Finest voice of his century.

  • I am a great fan of Sam Cooke. Beautiful.

  • we used to sing this in assembly at school in Leeds!

  • I have watched 3 versions and love them all. Harry Belefonte, Sam Cooke and Jimmy Buffett . They all bring everything they have and mean to each version. Beautifully done. : )

  • Beautiful song, I remember this one..Thanks for posting.

  • Wonderful song. Thank you for sharing.

  • I love Sam singing this classic Calypso song. He's so diverse. Just love his voice!! Thx 4 posting!

  • I have them. I'll try to post them, hopefully they don't get me again, last time they stripped my songs from my channel due to the whole copyright bull.

  • a true legend! simply the best!

  • god gave pele feet, god gave noah an arc , god gave sam a the most fabulous voice and he chose to share with us !

  • Sam could sing just about anything and make it sound great.

  • if they ever make the sam cooke movie,

densel should play the part. he and

sam look alike. good version, but when you

can saaaaaaaaaaaaaaang, that makes a difference.

  • Nah. No offense to Denzel, but he's been in enough biopics. Not sure if he can sing either.

  • I agree. He would have made a good Marvin Gaye too. He can't play every significant black man in history. For instance Leon has played David Ruffin, Little Richard, and Jackie Wilson. Besides Denzel is like 53, Sam and Marvin died at 33 and 44 respectively.

  • I heard this song before and I hated it but

when sam cooke sing this song it sound so

    perfect.

  • thanks for the comment.i'm glad that you like the song.

  • @belizeambushgal Three people do afirst class job of this one Sam Marty Robbins And Harry Belafonte and it don't get much better than that
