  • It's so sad they don't make movies like this anymore..

  • I love all the old Disney movies I'l never get bored of them ^_^

  • I don't like how they cleaned up certain lines... For example:

"Here's what you get when the races are diverse" instead of "Their whole disgusting race is like a curse." and "Dirty shrieking devils" instead of "Dirty Redskin devils."

Racist yes, but I feel like that was the point... the fullness of the mindless hate isn't as clearly shown...

  • I don't care how old I get. I love this movie <3

  • Why didnt pocahontas 2 be like this one?

  • I never realized the message in this movie. There's one in every Disney movie

  • I'VE FORGOTTEN HOW AWESOME THESE OLD MOVIES WERE! This song is inspirational!

  • I remember watching this movie when i was about 6 years old. I loved Pocahontas, it was my favorite, I saw it about 4 times a week. But everytime i saw this part, i always wondered why they were fighting each other. I knew it was wrong, i just didn't know why. Now i saw this part for the first time in years, and I was on the verge of tears. Racism is a terrible thing...

  • My kid will watch every Disney movie, and old TV show I can find. Why? Because they are the only shreds of humanity left in this world. Nothing else teaches life lessons anymore, except for maybe Glee....

  • i love Pocahontas

  • For only bringing one ship they sure do have a lot of weapons with them...

  • YEY NATURE WORSHIP, worship trees, like grandmother tree LMAO retards, id rather worship GOD. WHO MADE IT ALL

  • @Silentdarqfire They're not worshiping the tree- they're worshiping *by way of* the tree. The willow isn't their God- their conception of God is a multifaceted spiritual presence (not so different from our father who is also a son who is also a holy spirit), and this presence and its facets are present in everything. So, to claim they're worshiping a tree misses the point- it would be like claiming Christians worship bread, or wine, or crucifixes. They're worshiping an omnipresent grand spirit.

  • @FungalSheep

Thank you, for your explanation. So few people take the time to actually teach new things these days. They worry only about being better than someone else. I've never heard it put the way you did, and it was beautiful. I, myself, am half Native, and I still practice my faith that way. No one really understands it, because they do not see a need to thank the Earth for having us, just God for creating us. Thank you!

  • "They're different from us, which means they can't be trusted!"

There is obviously some jacked up about these people.

  • It looks like he hit Pocahontas.

  • sandwitches sandwitches this on needs some mustard

  • @estesoyojajaja how?

  • 0:45...Indias are so savages...

  • Comment removed

  • is this a tad sped up. im pretty sure this is not the right tempo haha, it sounds off

  • Goosebumps. I love this!!

  • "Remember your dream." I love how disney always reminds us never to give up on our dreams.

  • so good

  • "this is what you get when races are diverse!" Wow! Some way of thinking!

  • really missing my childhood right now.

  • I had this stuck in my head during History, it was hard trying to work while this song occupied my mind

  • 18 people are Savages

  • Comment removed

  • Even though I didn't like the Europeans in this part the song got stuck in my head but I liked Pocahontas part

  • This is in my opinion one of the most powerful scenes in the film ~

  • good song. good underlying message too

  • *Reads the comments on this video*

Not sure if "Sandwiches" or "Cabbages"...

  • @TallManVanitas why not both? White man: "Sammiches" Natives: "Cabbages" xD

  • No matter what you do, you will probably never end up as awesome a Pocahontas.

  • SANDWICHES SANDWICHES!

  • Thank you Disney, for that incredibly simplistic and generalized account of racism and intolerance.

  • @Piledriver86 Eh, it's basically what it boils down to, though.

  • Cabbages! Cabbages!

  • @nikkirock11 XD LOL

  • im getting tired of the SAMMICHES, SAMMCHES!!! jokes.

  • @robiking011 Cabbages, cabbages? ;D

  • Comment removed

  • @xcummyxmuffinsx im tired of the sammiches jokes , the carbbages jokes, or whatever you thought they were saying when you were little jokes.

  • "They're not like you and me, which means they must be evil."

    History in a nutshell.

  • @tigrrr7 my thoughts exactly

  • @tigrrr7

    True words. DAMN true.

  • @tigrrr7 Yeah, History of Liberalism!

  • I really liked 3:29-3:35

  • WOW!! That song really showed how much they DID have in common if you notice!

  • That's one shitty compass, randomly spinning around and all.

  • best climax EVER

  • 1:11 Ke$ha time

    1:13 Bieber hair flick

    <3<3<3

  • i , being inspired by the sandwhiches joke comments, have written and entire sandwhiches song parody of this. there were some people whos comments became lyrics for it and i would mention them except i wrote it ahwile ago and i cant remember their names, sorry guys.

  • The arrow pointed to John smith. Not north.

  • Wow I didn't know the sun could rise in the north!

  • @TenthChessMaster on the compas in that moment when it points to sunrise, the X which indicates north is to the arrows' left, so the arrow is pointed east.... i'm not sure if that's how it works but doesn't the arrow have to be on the little mark, or we have to "put fred in the shed" so to speak to get north?

  • @Katarasblueeyes No the arrow always points north. You'd use the X to orient the compass so that you know which way the rest of the directions are.

  • They're both as bad as each other

  • so freaking lucky that the indian camp was located north. lol

  • by the way, any one else see the compass and thing Jack Sparrow?

  • I was five when I first watched this. It made me so mad even then, but only about the white guys

  • When I was little I would say "Cabbages Cabbages!"

  • thank you disney for my 100% in social :) yay canadian history... just applications of this song and insights used from this movie ended me with 100... yay!

  • I remember my brother seeing this movie for the first time! When she jumped in to save John my brother was like safe!

  • how ironic. each calling the other savages. But in the end, they themselves are the savages.

  • Aargh!!! I hate this!! The song is too catchy even though the lyrics are horrible!!!

    Thanks alot Disney!!!

  • Two things first since when does a compass spin in circles with the wind second did anyone else notice how the fat guys dagger turned into a sword

  • u know if u replace the native american with anti gay people and the british with anti gay people i'm afraid u get what we see today :/ bare in mind i am gay myself

  • What's the moral of this movie anyway?

  • @NMbarrassment That though we are different, we are a lot alike. All because someone looks different doesn't mean they are.

  • This has always been my favorite song for this movie. I love the irony and what it says about humanity. I miss movies like this :/

  • This surely has been chanted in a soccer match.

  • didnt anyone ever tell that fat guy that throwing guns is dangerous

  • SAMMICHES, SAMMICHES!!!!

  • @RALAMA2992 - I laughed a little harder than I should have at that.

  • @RALAMA2992 Lmaoooooo I laughed too hard.

  • @RALAMA2992 BARELY EVEN HUMAN

  • @nevershoutshye NOW WE SOUND THE BELLS OF LUNCH!!!!

  • @RALAMA2992 bahahaha!! that just made my whole day.

  • @RALAMA2992 ... CAAAANNNN'TTT UNNNHHHEEEAARRR!

  • I dont know if anyone noticef but Cheif powatan (i dont know how to spell it ): ) and the medicine man are sung by the one and only talented! Jim Cummings!

  • loved the colors in this movie!

  • "I wonder if they even bleed." Well indians let me tell u something u guys are all humans and all humans bleed. Sure u guys are diffrent but u are all humans. lol

  • @Bugie78 im gonna give you the benefit of the doubt assuming that was sarcasm, but im gonna say this anyways. the point of that line is they dont even think theyre human because theyre so different

  • @AxeSurgeon Hmm good point. But don't u see they are all on two legs. lol. Love this song. so muiscal. lol

  • ahhh hatred no matter wat race u r humans r some dastardly beings n will always hate thats the human race for ya

  • sandviches! sandviches!

    Eaten by the humans

    sandviches! sandviches!

    cut them with ouer forrrrrks

  • But if the sandwiches are "barely" human, does that still make you a cannibal?

  • sandwiches sandwiches sandwiches

  • don't the two Indian men that sing at 0:54 sound like plankton from Spongebob Squarepants

  • You stopped it a the best part!

  • Is it sad I replace the word "savages" with "sandwiches"?

  • @NarutoRPCfan not at all!! then again...i went around singing "Sandwiches, sandwiches, killers at the core..." when i was like 5, so....

  • @Twilightescence5 I think it makes the film more entertaining and gets the controversy out of the song.

  • The really sad part of Disney of today, is in any of their disgusting movies they don't show what they did in the 90s. People killing other people for what to a child seem like silly reasons.

  • Did he say "filthy little heathens" ?!?!?! I TAKE OFFENSE TO THAT!

  • @Coolgal101100 the song is supposed to be offensive. in fact, the line where he says, "here's what you get when races are diverse" is supposed to be "their whole disgusting race is like a curse

    "

  • 2:08 when ifirst saw the compass, i thought it was an oreo...XD

  • "they're not like you and me, Which means they must be evil!!"

huh, accurate to most of the population until now.... i lol at the irony, sir!

  • this song shows so much if only some see it

  • 3:29 - 3:35 MY FAVE PART 3

  • When I was little I remember that me and my brother renacted this scene several times xD

  • It's a Disney song people. Please keep political debates and opinions off. It's ridiculous. I'm tired of it.

  • @AMxPunk, im not american, im canadian. when america crossed the border of iraq during operation "desert storm" it was a UN engagement, although american lead, no acts were commited that are againts the UN laws scince we are fighting for you so you dont get blown up by an I.E.D. when you go for a walk down the street. thats something the ANA and most of your other countries cant seem to handel, and we are not "using you for oil" we have our own oil that we can pump, we only buy from you to he

  • @theJNCsaga

Search for a video called "Why the world especially arabs hate the USA" here on youtube, Should give you a reality check. If you really think the U.S is not fighting for Oil,Then I honestly don't know what to tell you buddy. The USA are not fighting terrorists,They are rarely but most of the time they are fighting innocents who the U.S name as "terrorists".America is not as innocent as you think it is,They're no different than the Romans tbh

  • lol @ disney portraying this as, like, an even battle.

IRL the euros kicked native ass and piss on their ashes.

  • @IsaacH1273 Total disrespect! As a Native American I don't want my ancestors ashes to be pissed on!!

  • @navariel13 am Native as well, but this is candy coated for we all know what really happened but am happy they made this movie to show others what kind of happen, however you see they don't speak much on this film for that reason

  • When I was a kid I always wanted them to have a massive fight. It would have been an awesome fight too.

  • Gosh this song is awful. -__- im native american and people ask if i live like Pocohantas. Smh.

  • My last name is Savage! We aren't all bad people!

  • @WorldEndProductions LOL you funny

  • @WorldEndProductions savage? as in ADAM SAVAGE? srry watching mythbusters at the same time :P

  • @AMxPunk, ... dude wtf are you talking about, we let you fight a war by your selves, then iraq took controll of kuwait within 12hours so we had to step in and sent you back to your own country, btw its you who wants oil and land, thats the reason you took kuwait... face it, you loose this debaite

  • @theJNCsaga

I am not Iraqi,I'm Egyptian.I am talking about all arabs.Infact,Its not just arabs americans are taking advantage of its the muslim nations in asia like Pakistan & Afghanistan. No,I am not a muslim. Also,Kuwait didn't need you help arabic countries such as Egypt already were there trying to help Kuwait against Iraq.Americans just entered the fray to go "Well,We want some oil as our prize".America is the reason the arabic world today is horrible,The middle east used to be beautiful

  • woulda been a hell of a war

  • This is a song about human nature.

  • All I have to say is this country is going to shit and karma is a bitch!!!

  • This song is a true song to about Xenophobia

  • I havent watched this movies in at least 10 years but I still occasionally get this song in my head. It's my least favorite song in the movie yet I'm always getting the damn "Savages, Savages" chant going in my head. I wish it were an upbeat song like Around the River Bend, but no, my subconscious really likes the Savages song.

  • that's the kind of chick I want, just fall on top of me, no promise that he'd stop....

  • Theres no meaning in past nor future, the present is where the waves form.

  • @AMxPunk, NATO didnt cross middle eastern borders until post 9:11, therefore you started it, any engagement before that point was UN orientated and overseen by the UN, last time i checked people who commit genicides on their own populations, take a neighbouring country by force breaking a UN law, fly two freakin planes into two UN buildings killing thousands and attempt to overthrow theirown government are terrorists. i know i might sound like an american but im actually canadian, we wouldnt b

  • @theJNCsaga

Most of everything happening in the middle has happened because of western interference especially americans.Infact its just not the middle east but most of the world itself.Speaking of the west,Weren't the british and most of europe using Africa as their own "colony" and simply entering countries and taking them? I'm egyptian btw and no if you think I'm a muslim I am not,Atheist actually.

  • @theJNCsaga

America wants to do the same thing to the middle east and are "pretending" to help when they are making things worse in the middle east.Look at Egypt,We are going through tough times but not like Iraq and we're actually getting better and getting rid of our tyrants while look at Iraq and how the U.S entered it and ruined it.The west do not wish to "help" or "fight terrorists" that is a load of crap,They want oil and land

  • The First natons are NOT savages. Everytime I hear this song I get really angry because the British made the first nations out TO BE savages.

  • this is my power walking song

  • as doug walker often says "you know, for kids"

  • @mattbell543 omfg i love you haha

  • @AMxPunk, its not our fault, you guys started it, we let it slide until you directly attatcked the US, and it was a domino effect from there on

  • @theJNCsaga

Excuse me? We started it? Americans are the ones lying to the world saying they are "fighting terrorists" when in truth they are fighting for land and oil.Have you seen what marines do to arabs in captive? You rape,Urinate & do horrid things. Why do you think some arabs are this angry at americans? You think arabs fight for fun? They fight because america is destroying the middle east and killing many arabic innocents. The majority of americans are hypocritical or lairs.

  • Saw it when I was in 3rd grade. Loved it.

17 years later. I still love it. Best Disney movie ever made. Today's stuff is crap.

  • Whats sad is some people still think like this and trust me I know,I'm arabic. This is the exact same feeling some westerns and some arabs have towards each other.Put the westerns as the british and the arabs as the red indians,Everything matches =(

  • @AMxPunk If someone grows up being taught and hearing a certain thing, sometimes it can be difficult to change that...

  • @AMxPunk I'm Asian American I love my Arab friends if that makes any difference

  • @AMxPunk it makes me sad too. How a cultural difference, or a misunderstanding can cause so much racism and hatred... :/

  • @AMxPunk Maybe because you keep flying planes into our buildings and burning our flag and shouting "death to america". Oh sure, most Arabs are decent and hard working people. I've known quite a few. But you have to understand why the hostile sentiment is there.

  • @tidalwavedave305

Westerns and mostly americans have been abusing the middle east for years and some think it is their right to abuse us.Ask yourself,Why do you think arabic people burn the american flag or fly planes into your buildings,Do you think they do it for fun? Yeah,Ask yourself. And just to let you know,I'm an atheist NOT a muslim

  • @AMxPunk I'm an atheist too. And look, man, all I'm trying to do is take a detached look at why things are. Yeah, the US, the state, not the people, have been screwing most of the world for the last sixty years. So I don't blame some people in the mid-east to dislike Americans. But neither am I surprised by the antipathy americans have for moose slims.

  • @tidalwavedave305

Yeah I get what you mean,Both sides have done serious shit to each other. It has to stop,As its making people question humanity

  • @AMxPunk Absolutely. Thanks for understanding. And my first post was a bit barbed. Sorry.

  • @tidalwavedave305

Nah its ok,Both sides have done horrid things to the point where not one side is innocent anymore. And yeah not all arabs hate the west I mean I LOVE the west and not all westerns hate the middle east some love arabs and all. We're all human,We should learn to live together =)

  • @tidalwavedave305 just to see you apologize and not carry it on gives me hope for humanity... thank you

  • We're learning about this in social studies. This song has been stuck in my head all day

  • @smalltowngamers How do they all speak English? No one knows... Lol

  • How loud are the drums of war?...there too loud everyone will hear them eventually

  • How did they both know the same song?

  • @smalltowngamers Irony, because the song is how they are so different from each other. ... Or something.

  • I remember when I was really little I cried so much at that very last part. I was scared and did want john to die xD

  • Comment removed

  • John Smith would have been screwed if the cliff was south of Grandmother Willow.

  • Why did it have to stop there? I may have to find a dvd somewhere of phocohauntus or video if my video player works i love her

  • I cannot listen to this without hearing "They're cabbages, cabbages, barely even human.."

  • did somone say avatar?

  • @gogiya41195 no

  • @KeeperPeace Do you even know what I meant dumbass

  • @gogiya41195 no

  • @KeeperPeace Yeah, never mind than

  • @gogiya41195 I win

  • @KeeperPeace Ah-ha, you only think you won

    let's leave it at that

    good luck

  • @gogiya41195 Yes

  • I've heard somewhere that the original line was

"Their Whole disgusting race is like a curse," instead of,

"Here's what you get when races are diverse."

They cut it out because they figured it was to caustic, in direct context the scene itself, I think getting rid of one line didn't at all make it less shit-your-pants terrifying. Oh yeah, mock me all you want, this scene scared the living piss out of me as a kid, and even today it can still send shivers down my spine.

  • I like this song (:

  • Epic!
