Who's business is it what someone did last week, or last night for that matter? Why can't employers and insurance companies just be fair and make a just assessment of whether a person is actually impaired on the job, just like alcohol? Where's the proof that Marijuana kills brain cells?  check out the facts, you might be surprised at the diseases, such as alzheimer's, MJ is very effective at treating. A recent study suggests that THC actually stimulates the growth of new brain cells in laboratory mice. I don't mean to just be a jerk, but I wish people would get the facts and consider the rights of all human beings to put whatever they choose into their body. Maybe we should outlaw alcohol again, that sure went well.

I don't get you either. Marijuana has been scientifically proven to be the best alzheimer's medication available, without the side effects of the manufactured compounds currently pushed off on the public by our government.  I am not for children doing drugs or anything, but I am for personal privacy protection and am strictly opposed to drug testing in schools or anywhere else. What's next, cameras in the bathroom? Social education is the only way to combat drug use, not communism.

I don't really mean to assert that Russia is a strictly communist nation. If anything, you're right, the U.S. is even closer to being a fully communist run country. I guess that is what scares me about this story. I can remember 20 years ago when something like this would have been met with public outrage, even from Christians. I just think that parents need to teach their children the dangers of drugs (and alcohol) at home instead of giving up our rights, privacy and freedom to the state.

I just saw your comment on privatizing the school system and have to say that I completely agree. If the school system were in the private sector, we would have more competition among teachers for the jobs and it would have a self regulating pay scale, which would more than likely bring the cost down. This would also more than likely either cut down the number of years of schooling or we would see a dramatic improvement in the quality of education; much like universities

Very true, America's drug program is a waste. It has caused economic growth though. Solving the drug problem doesn't create economic growth, only in treating it and prolonging it does this cause more economic activity.

Yes, but first for all Russian politicians, from Medvedev to all members of the Duma and all other elected leaders. They should be the first ones to undergo drug testing, randomly and planned, for one year before they test schoolchildren.
