i am a true mashburn fan, and i agree with some of the statements made. in dallas they could have been something special but f>>k jim clemons, miami he was the third option behind hardaway and zo, but going to charlotte he got to be himself just ask zo and tim when he lit them up for 50 and a series win and can anyone say they scored 50 on pippen
Mashburn didn't led jackcrap....Jimmy Jackson was averaging 27 points a game before he broke his ankle. Jackson at the time was the 4th leading scorer in the NBA behind only David Robinson, Shaquille O'neal and Karl Malone. Mashburn was the 3rd fiddle on that team behind Jackson and Kidd.
My favorite player of all time...if it wasn't for injuries he would be a top 10 all time league scorer and maybe still playing...too bad for those knees and other freak injuries...still managed to have a pretty solid career...GO MASH GO...anyone still got his sneakers?
@Domini478 not that good? The boy had 6 seasons where he averaged over 20 points a game. He is also one of a few players to average over 20 points a game in his last season. An all star game is based on popularity with the fans. There are tons of great players who get omitted every year.
@CanvassBlack 5 of those 6 seasons he didn't play a full season. 3 of those seasons was injury years where he avg 20 points a game. His last season he had played 19 games. He didn't play a long time because of injuries. He was 31 when he had retired. He wasn't that good and I have proof. Btw, the fans vote the starters, not the whole damn team. The coaches vote for the reserves in the game. Mashburn made it one time and that isn't shit.
@Domini478 You're really fishing. Are we talking injuries or are we talking about skills as a player? You want proof(lol) Check out the vid on here titled Mashburn and Jackson score 88 vs Bulls.Mashburn scores 50 against Scottie Pippen who was a 10 time all defensive team. I think I have made my case.
@Domini478 And try watching the video I mentioned to assess his skills. Too many young people are more concerned with always being right rather than learning from others. Let that ego go and keep your mind open to new ideas even if you were in fact wrong.
@Domini478 and dont say that was his best game as a pro because there's another video on here where he drops 50 as a Hornet and the game winning shot. I'm sure you'll come up with some explanation though or now switch and say" He was ok when he was healthy"
@athletenva How that??? He went to one all star game and he never made first team anything. Hell, he wasn't even the best player on his teams dumbass.
every1 shut up he was w great player in the NBA and college the only reason he wasnt a legend in the NBA cuz every1 tried hurtin him cuz he is so good he was a legend at Kentucky he is my idol so shut up u haters
The Mavs are another team from the 90's that had all the makings of greatness and never realized it. They had all-stars at the 1, 2 and 3. All they needed was a legitimate 4 or 5 and they would've been a real force.

I didn't know Mashburn was this good. He must have been a major influence to Carmelo Anthony. I see a lot of similarities in their games.
