  • OK, what about Ephesians2: 8-10. Remember that the passage goes on upto V.10. Wjhat are the goodworks that God has prepared BEFOREHAND for us to walk in, in Christ? Christ did away with the ceremonial law of the Temple, but did He do away with the moral law which is summarized by Love the Lord your God with all ... and Love your neighbor as yourself?

  • So...some Christians are "Legalists" because they choose to follow ALL the New Testament? The words Legalism and Legalist are not even in the Bible! Paul did not warn against what we are calling Legalism today. He was warning Jewish Christians about following the OT Law and Gentile Christians to keep from the things they did as the heathen which included dressing immodestly, as well as sexual impurity, filthy speech, etc, etc., etc. If this is what a Legalist is I'm proud of it!!

  • This man teaches the truth.

  • This is a lie from the pit...a very subtle lie. First off he took the "lust" thing out of context...that is not for a new covenant believer since we are dead to the law (Rom 7:4-6). Many legalist simply use "religious rules" to try and win victory in the Christian life...Paul warned about it:

Col 2:23 {Religious rules} have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-made religion and asceticism and severity to the body, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh.

  • @promisedgrace This man is talking about a higher standard than the OT Law and because of

Grace WE CAN LIVE GODLY whereas no one could under the Law because it could not free us from the bondage of sin. The religious rules (as you call it) in Col 2:23 is not the same thing here. Its specifically is talking about ordinances of the Law (vs 15) like meat, drink, respect of an holyday, the new moon, the sabbath days (16) voluntary humility and worshiping of angels. Not what this guy is saying.

  • Jesus didn't want us to remove eyes or hands. When he said those things about adultery and murder, He was showing us that by trying to live under the law, we fail because it is impossible to never become angry and to never have sexual feelings for someone. He was showing us that living by the law is failing. He was showing us that we need Grace to save us from bondage under the law.

  • Fools. Obeying God's laws is not legalism. Legalism is when you add to those Laws. Remember the Jews had over 600 laws on how to live the 10 Laws given to us by God. That is legalism.

  • @seedsower207 The 600 laws are in the OT broken down into moral, cerimonial, and civil. But the real question is is God's law the eternal moral law, which existed before the giving of the law, or is it the law of Moses given at Sinai. Is Christ commandments the OT law of Moses or was it the new commandment, to love one another as he loved us. Sure we use the OT moral law to define sin. We are saved through grace and the just shall live by faith. The OT law cannot save anyone.

  • Ditto Peabean's comment. This video still leaves us with a million laws to obey--you can turn almost any verse in the Bible into a law. This guy uses weasel words--"guideline"--"ungodliness"--but he's promoting the same old shtik, beating us to death with impossible "standards" while he stands at the front looking cool.

Love is the whole of the law: Galatians 5:14, Matthew 22:39, Mark 12:31, Luke 10:27, Romans 13:8-10, James 2:8, 1 Peter 4:8.

  • This is so right on. Thank you

  • Love does no harm to a neighbour, therefore love is the fulfilment of the law.

  • although obeying the laws and the 10 commandments is legalism

  • I have a relationship with my Lord Jesus. And that is why I obey His Precepts, His Commands. Thanks for posting a good video my freind.
