Thanks a lot, your turorials are very useful. I just picked SSF 4 recently after playing Blazblue for a while. Feels like a complete different game style. Thanks for guiding me.
How in the HECK are we supposed to know when their about to throw us??? The throw movement is SOOO freakin fast. Its like a milla second lol. U have to have like the best reflexes
@Universal247 thats why he is stressing option select, you dont have to know when your oponent is going to switch it up into a grab every time. It allows you to either poke em away or tech out using the same command - the game chosing which is optimum.
@coldChicken I've found an solution (at least for now) I noticed they always would pull it off because I was ALWAYS crouching to block mid attacks (due to another of my friends nag for constant sweeping (smfh) when I block standing it seems they have more trouble trying to tick throw and whiff A LOT more than while im crouching
@coldChicken it's not online when me and my friends play at work during our lunch break (we have a ps3 and 360 at my job) online I hardly fight anyone who throws (kinda weird) I try the rhythm thing and it works every so often BUT
What button on say, a PS3 controller would be good to bind throw on? R1 + R2 right now for me are PPP+KKK, while L1+L2 are HP + HK. Thanks in advance!
Still having trouble with teching I practice and pull it of flawlessly but when I against my friends it just doesn't come out they abuse the shit outta me with throws and it posses me off be Use that's the only way they can beat me I do option select am I pressing it too early or something plz help the ONLY thing I suck at
I wonder if there is a Street Fighter summer camp somewhere. I bet the lectures would be something like this. Great tutorials Vesper. I;ll be watching them all, even if I know the techniques.
@YogzDaBeatChild Agreed. I am a bit tired of seeing these ungrateful spoiled people coming on here and trying to nitpick the way you do your videos. Personally I think you are a champion and are doing all those who care to get better at SSF4 an irreplaceable service! If it weren't for you I would never have fixed my laggy setup nor bought a massive RJ-45 cable so I can get the best latency possible online, and these 2 things alone have made me infinitely better at SSF4. Thanks so much!
I wish i'd have watched this series sooner...using a joystick since Vanilla, and so many concepts to playing are just sinking in....for example the throw Option Selects....wow you the man for putting this series together, nuff respect!!!
i dont know if this was mentioned but you cant always tech a throw for example if you whif a DP and your opponent punishes with throw you cant tech it because you are still recovering from the DP
Like watt I do I might jump n hp n if he blocks then grab him quicky cuz alot of people online be wryin about blocking but if u gud at known wen to throw ur be gud at tech throwing cuz I rarely get thown but yo thanks for them tips man
why don't you just say "jab"? it's more annoying hear you correct yourself rather than just hearing Jab; in fact, most people know what jab is already anyways.
@tigerex777 Since this is a SSF4 tutorial, the actual in game notation is "weak". Most people do not know what jab means. If they become accustomed to SRK then this tutorial is moot either way.
Nice tutorial. but you should really say "Jab" and "Short" or "Low Punch" or "Low Kick" rather than "Weak Punch" and "Weak Kick" because they are more common terms for street fighter.
Like, when people go to fighting game websites to learn combos and moves they will see terms like "Cr.Jab" or "J.LK" so the term "Weak Kick" might throw them off.
It might make sense to advanced players who already know how to play SF but new players could be confused by the different terms.
Haha... thanks for making an effort on the punch/kick notations. Also good to know on the teleport blocking thing... I'd never heard that you block the character or where he is rather. I'd actually heard the opposite (i.e. block whichever attack is going to hit you first, the fireball or the character).
Waaaait a minute! Dhalsim is the stretching guy from fantastic 4, Seth is Silver Surfer, M. Bison (Dictator) is Captain America, while half of Tekken guys are ripped of Fei Long :) #LOL
Balrog has no cross up attacks at all, however, you can do some cross over tricks by either jumping over them or timing a headbutt as your opponent is waking up from a knockdown. There not the best strategy to use at all times and generally Balrog has a lot of tools that doesn't require him to cross up.
Thanks a lot, your turorials are very useful. I just picked SSF 4 recently after playing Blazblue for a while. Feels like a complete different game style. Thanks for guiding me.
