  • I DONT LIKE THIS AT ALL, FUCKING RETARDED

  • fantastic!

  • this was actually featured at the closing credits of a simpsons episode!

  • @spaceriot Really? Sure you're not mixing it up with the Sonic Youth version?

  • @romeosdistress no not the Sonic youth version, the Yo la tengo version. see quote from simpson's theme wiki below and a quote to a vh1 story about it.

Other versions are performed by guest stars heard in an episode, such as a "Psychedelic rock" version performed by Yo La Tengo, "Indie-rockers Yo La Tengo have recorded a psychedelic version of the theme song to the long-running Fox-TV cartoon series "The Simpsons" for the Nov. 15 episode, "D'oh-in in the Wind."

  • @spaceriot well shut my mouth, you're absolutely right :)

  • Why YLT isn't selling out stadium concert halls and on the lips of anyone who likes music is beyond me, lucky us few then can enjoy the waves of joy and feedback.

  • Ira certainly gets some strange sounds from that acoustic.

  • nice this! really great band

  • Awesome but sounds like Tomorrow never knows by The Beatles

  • @justmikestevenson yes, maybe it's because of the episode in which it appears

  • I hope this piece meets the approval of Simpsonologist Lodo Grdzak.

  • another prime example of why YLT is my favorite band, fyi.

  • What effect/effects are being used on the acoustic?

  • Sounds like distortion/delay/trem...

  • Tremolo from his Fender amp and a fuzz pedal. Doesn't sound like a delay is involved, as his sputtering sounds aren't repeating themselves (especially audible towards the end) Possibly vibrato too?

I was at an SF freewheelin' show, just too cool.

  • aha, opening a show in Springfield with this, clever.

  • thank you for this video...

  • yo la tengo love the simpsons!!

  • its the base line to tomorrow never knows by the Beatles. Fucking fantastic! Turn off your mind, relax & flow down stream.......

  • nice find. i wouldn't have noticed by myself.

i love the way they made this cheerful tv theme their own.

  • Silly, but the lighting really makes it look as though Georgia is going bald (her bangs are just about invisible, and, with her hair pulled back, it just looks like baldness ;) ).

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • Psychadelicus!

  • That's a f***ing acoustic guitar for god's sake. You rock, Ira.

  • unique guitarist
