If you guys are worried about the noise that the Stora makes, don't be. It's near-silent, the only noise you can hear usually is the fan, the HDDs though can make a fair amount of noise.
One idea which is really, really effective is using 2.5" Laptop HDDs inside a noise reducing bracket. (look up the Scythe 2.5" Quiet Drive HDD Silencer)
@buran4ik2 - Yes, it's definiatley the HDDs you need to watch the sound level with. I've got two WD Caviar blues 640GBs and they're awful. They work badly (need reformatting a lot!) and vibrate like mad, there's no way of effectively silencing them, most NAS drives won't spin them down properly either - luckily the Stora does! Or I'd have to throw it out my room or get some new drives.
I have use the WD Caviar Green's in both of my NTGR NAS units and they are virtually silent. Very pleased.

in most cases the problem is not device noise but HDD noise :) so compare HDD drives ;)

Thanks for doing the noise comparison test. I've just ordered one to save myself 2.5% before the VAT increase:)
