I see no reason why Samuel Jackson can't be Nick Fury. I think it's obvious that these movies take place a different universe than the comics. And currently in the comics, there are two different Nick Furys, who exist in two different universes. Honestly, I had a bigger problem with Hugh Jackman, who's 6' 2", playing Wolverine, who is 5' 3". But Jackman is good in that role, and I'd rather see a good actor play a role than one who fit the physical appearance.
