Crit and mana pool is more importaint but i reccommend you to be @ like 1800 SP unbuffed

i have a newly level 80 prot warrior, i have 544 defense and 21831 HP. according to this vid i should be ready to tank easy stuff at least but I find myself being contently booted from raid and heroic groups. can anyone tell me if I am good enough to tank or is everyone right about my haveing too low health.

u need to have more health than ne1 who is not a tank, my ret pally has 21.7 k unbuffed, and to see a tank with 100 hp more than me really doesnt sit well, generally shoot for 25-26k unbuffed, and 28k unbuffed for the harder raids. work on ur heroism emblems and get ur hp up and u should be set. and if ur constantly getting booted, dont run with pug groups, run with guildies. don't have a guild? type /2 80 tank LF raiding Guild

tinyassjbs did say that they're being booted from heroics, so it's impossible to even get badge gear. As a resto shaman with 2236 +healing I'd heal you in heroics. I started healing heroics and raids when I hit 80 considering I have lots of healing experience in BC and I had by "standards" enough +healing to heal Naxxramas when I was level 70. To be honest it's really a matter of people QQing about having to work a little bit, though start with beginning heroics like UK.

but if he cant get in groupes how can he get badges u have 2 get gear 2 better his existing gear so i think u have 2 consider this and think is it that ure well geared and he may be a new 80but if he can keep agro then it should be fine as long aas the healer is decent

If you're going into heroics and raids that low, you haven't really gotten all the required gear first. Use Atlas (addon) and search for upgrades in the non-heroic 5mans, enchant your gear fully and gem it with rare gems. You should hit it pretty easy.

well to actually answer your question, you're def capped which at the moment is 540, and a safe comfortable and acceptable health for tanks is 23-24k+

For Legendaryplayer - My tank started at 20k hp unbuffed with 540 defense as OT, though I am now tanking 10mans as MT with 544 defense and 25k unbuffed. Be sure to get a good set of quality gear from dungeons/heroics + the badge vendor to start you off.
