  • @OP (jkjuker ) : Existence of worms does not mean the fish isn't fresh.

    LIVING fish have parasites.

All this proves is that you don't know how to properly prepare your fish.

  • They say when u cook the fish, the parasites should die....they lied

  • Bring it back get you money!

  • you know its fresh when the worms are still alive. take the worms back to dominions and get some money back, they charge per kilogram , that might get ya credit on your next purchase. if you only knew whats in your hamburger!

  • that fish isnt fresh fool:P

  • people thinks that worms are only on rotting piece of fish or meat. those worms are parasite, not like maggots which only eats dead tissues like a rotten piece of fish/meat.

  • fish get worms, that's nature. when you cook it you kill the worms. it happens. fish shit, so do chickens. that's life. you may eat a bit of shit sometimes, it happens.

  • That's what u get for eating catfish! Bottom feeders and disease supreme among fish. They stink, look gross feel gross and above all eat garbage! Get some real fish like Carp lol just kidding. But seriously why catfish they are so gross.

  • I have caught fish and cleaned them within ten minutes of catching and they have had worms in them. Parasites are not uncommon in a lot of fish. Just par for the course. Nothing to do with the grocer/vendor not having fresh fish.

  • I see you winning a lawsuit man.... :D

  • another reason fish sucks

  • @enkhuizenddg its better then mad cow or a colon cancer.

  • lol, catfish is a bottom feeder = higher chance.

  • wow, woos its all edible just eat it, its not like you havnt eaten a worm before, you just probable didnt know it

  • right a worm in a fish is good for you. considering tapeworms and other parasites can be carried by fish.

  • im never eating fish again.

  • it is fresh.

fresh doesn't mean it won't have any worms or parasites it means is straight from the source.

  • damm anyone who says its disgusting and will sue peoples.....BECOME A VEGETAIRAN!! ALL LIVING THINGS HAVE PARASITES!..i dont care if its good i will eat it even if its bee larvae(eaten before)

  • I dont know what the fuss is about. Most cod and other fish such as whiting have parasites. Its normal. Just flick them out with a knife tip and eat the fish.

  • If the worms are ALIVE it is VERY FRESH you idiot. Parasites in fish are extremely common. Freezing doesn't kill all types of worm. ALWAYS hold fish up to the light BEFORE you start prepping it. If you see any opaque spots, poke it with a knife and watch him jump out. Flounder, sole, catfish and tilapia be especially careful.

  • did you eat it

  • dude i wud have went bak n made dem eat at shyt bro

  • Normal, absolutely normal

I buy my fresh fish at the supermarket and often I see the worms wriggling in the meat or even the package if it works itself from the flesh. pick em out, rinse the fish in cold water, enjoy.

  • @geshtunga Doesn't work if that's all you do, as larvae can still remain in the meat. You're only safe if you cook the fish VERY well.

  • Gross, but now, I learn something new. I will freeze the fish and then cook it so well that the meat is falling apart. Then i will eat it.

  • thats fucking gross I would sue

  • I had the same thing with my monkfish. Apparently the worm is called anisakis and is quite a 'common' pesticide amongst fish, especially those that live on the ocean floor, but trust me, its fresh.

  • Can they infest people?

  • i believe the worse they can do is give you abdominal pain for 2 weeks (their life span in your stomach). That is, unless you ingest so much that they block your system, often your 'rear end'... So yea, cook it properly. And if you thinking why then the japanese seem fine (w. all the sashimi)... they aren't, infact they have the highest cases of the anisakis unless i am mistaken. This info is some right off my head from my reasearch a while ago, but i hope still correct.

  • heads up..im a chef and ill tell ya, you honestly should always freeze your fish before you cook it(defrost first of course) the reason is, you can only kill fish parasites by freezing, you cannot kill parasites by cooking unfortunatly. has nothing to do with the worms u had..but i thought youd like to know that!

  • @mikeadx

its the other way around dude

cold stops them from growing and multiplying

heat (enough heat of course) owns them

  • Obviously they are fresh obsessed or the worm would be dead retard. Live worms actually mean the fish is very fresh.

  • Maybe it was the worm they used to catch the fish LOL

  • Yum....Just think how many worms we all might have eaten from deep fried fish.

  • Aw man, makes me wonder if I should ever fill a cooler with white perch again
