  • Wonderful - I wish I had written this.

  • I'm a 48 year old male and every time I listen to this the tear ducts start... this song is perfection from the opening chords, Liz's voice and when Robin and Simon let go with the wonderful Cocteau's sound... I was lucky enough to see them a number of times including when the supported OMD, from the first Chord at Hammersmith Odeon I was hooked and have been ever since.

  • I'm 13. This is the first song I ever remember hearing, I was only one or two years old. I had never heard it again, but I always hum it. Now that I've found it, I love it. <3

  • @Herochanluver you luckey you love and peace from holland

  • I first heard the Cocteau Twins when I was about 14 yrs. Old. They would get played out of a public radio station in Detroit. I will be 40 next month and I still get lost in this enchanting music.

  • I review Cocteau Twins's whole discography on my channel for your information. Cheers.

  • This was the best ending track of any album ever.

  • I first bought Four Calendat Cafe around the time my daughter was born. Listened to it non stop throughout here first months. She is 15 now and has such an appreciation for this music, especially Elizabeth Fraser. Thank you so much for posting this. The lyrics are just as beautiful as the music.

  • What a way to close an album!

I mean this piece is just pretty much flawless! Not to mention that bass fill at 3:11, right after the solo. I mean that is just perfect.

  • . . . let's listen to it again . . . .

  • My fave track of the album. It's all good - this just shines!

  • Jeallosy, anger, confusion - you can't remember things now old - left alone to contineu in simplicity / beautiful song

  • One day i was reading some fan reviews on the CT official site and i remember one wich says something like this: " Pur is what happen when we fall in love, what we feel when we said " i do", what we taste when we divorce ... " It was kind of contest to win some CT cd's or DVD or something like that. Obviously this guy won. Amazing song, one of their best.

  • this song is eternal in voice of liz the compass and complexy Liz is the support the all, the back voice of liz ripper the same song this perfect, this song is perfect to ear went this alone, note the details this song step a step she is want repeat again non stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think she sings "not sure of what to do".rather than "more assured of what to do."

  • I would give my life to see them togheter again. I know it sounds sad, but is true.

  • As beautiful as her vocals always are, the best part of every Cocteaus song is when Robin lets rip with his guitar. The most underrated musician in rock history, and I'm not kidding!

  • what a song ive beem a fan for twenty five years since john peel who loved em so did i as soon as i heard em on his radio show i knew i was listening to something special and they never let me down years and years of musical bliss thank you so much robin and liz

  • la cancion mas hermosa que eh scuchado. amo a los cocteau twinsss

  • I love this song sooooo much,,amazing...

Can anyone tell me what its really about?

  • Although I have listened to them since The Tube and Cherry Dew Drops Drops, I had missed this. Possibly the first with fully recognizable words, it is beautiful and a must for any fella whose made an arse of himself and upset the woman.. This'll help and also instil in her the daft thought that you have an emotional side..

  • This is one of my all time favourites... thanks.

  • speechless what a song

  • simply beautiful, nothing more to adding. Music from Heaven

  • This is beautiful.

  • This is the best......!

  • i still listen to this song over and over again..its magical ..(i miss the cocteaus so much)

  • oh my!!! I can't hear this song without having some tears of joy, means a lot 4 me.

  • Best band ever by far!! Unique artists!

  • Truly amazing, their best.

  • Ditto as below but in English! One of the most original bands of the last 25 years, so many have been influenced but no one has even come a smidgen bit close. Liz and Roddy Frame are not not only best singers to come out of Scotland but whole of the UK.

  • wedding song 1998!...Pete and Diana Pedersen

    Thank you Liz and Robin!

    thank you everyone!

  • @PistolPete1965 Wow - perfect wedding song. Wishing you both continued love and happiness x

  • so so so great i will love that band till i die..

  • This is such a beautiful song. I've been listening ot this album obsessively lately. It's really nice the way you've laid out the the lyrics in subtitles, as the Cocteau Twins lyrics are obscurely delivered. Sweet.

  • Tamrah, if you get this, this is from me. " Reach and you won't lose me...I love you and you can figure it out"...

  • This song..... this amazing soul wrenching, but inspiring song. Still after all these years breaks my heart and makes me cry like a baby. I remember after I saw them in 95, at the Warfield, in San Francsico, my friend snuck us down to the fron row and it was incredible. I do admit to being on hallucinagetics and E at the time and later when taking a nitrous hit to this song I completley broke down....it was wonderful. Thank you Lisa you touch my soul and are a true diva and goddess.

  • una de las mas grandes bandas de poprock,de las 10 mas grandes para mi.

  • Beautiful. I love this song but my fav is Wolf in the Breast. I think the line "reach and you won't lose me" should read "rage and you won't lose me" it makes more sence with the rest of the lyrics

  • thanks for post this..thanks

  • * * * * *

  • These lyrics remind me of anime songs translated into English.

  • Please upload more stuff with subs, its very helpful for non-native eng users. So, 5 stars Thank You.

  • What comes to Cocteau Twins, this was their first album the native speakers could understand even a bit of - well at least most of them, that's what I've heard :D But it's interesting to see subs after listening many years without understanding a word. Doesn't matter though, CT is my fav, always and forever.

  • esta preciosa banda no parece ser de este planeta... los amo!

  • yes, they're so good it's like they're aliens! =]

  • Love love love T-T

  • my all time favorite of the cocteau twins

  • with subtitles on you realise how unique liz's singing is. it's like another language at times! ^^

  • god...

    =')

    is my inspiration...

  • god...

    =')

    is my inspiration...

  • brilliant

  • They saved the best track on Four Calendar Cafe for last - unbelievably beautiful, Liz's vocal on this is especially uplifting and heartwrenching at the same time.

  • Pur class.

  • I only discovered the Cocteau Twins properly a week ago and have since downloaded 4 albums. I thought nothing could beat Blue Bell Knoll but I was wrong - this song is the stuff that dreams are made of - just wonderful. Please get back together guys - for those of us who didn't get to appreciate you fully the first time around. Anth

  • @michaelspaul its great that new people are listening to this wonderful music .

  • Ah...the ol' memories... :-)

  • uwielbiam tę muzykę, UWIELBIAM :)

    simple but oh so poignant

  • Oh and it's been nice chatting with you Deb

    LOL!

  • Thank you for this lovely video davemun23...

I've never heard this song before, beautiful words...

  • these lyrics aren't accurate, but it doesn't matter... Cocteau Twins sing and reach to parts of us that nothing else can reach.

  • Hear the voice of Fraser in this music,is with fly one the cloud

  • so many memories awakened when i listened to this...thank you for sharing this beautiful song.

  • straight from the heart - pure love

  • I was listening to this song in my dream. Felt so good in my dreams. And then after I woke up, I listened to this song, and it was sooo good. It was just like reliving your beautiful dream.

  • Wow, this songs grows on you exponentially after the first 2 minutes of calm, and then it's like an avalanche; there's no turning back.

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. The lyrics have me in tears, esp. knowing what happened between Liz and her daughter. I have never seen CT lyrics before - I never understood a word until Heaven or Las Vegas, and I must admit I thought that they were a bit crass 'are you the right man for me, or are you toxic for me' - bit too pop for me.

  • i'm pleased to meet YOU , in this lifetime.

    thanks for expressing yourself E.F.

  • you can't cage a person like elizabeth, let her go, she will come back in her own way

  • bravo

  • I think it's "NO CHANCE, YOU WON'T LOSE ME," not "reach and..."

  • youre outta your bloody mind. id give every penny i have to see them once more or for just one more album

  • Pure poetry, pure dram pop...

Cocteau twins we miss you so, but please never reunite again, it just wouldn't be the same.

You must be forever timeless, forever...

  • One of my fav CC songs purely for the atmosphere and mood of the intro and then when you think it could,nt be any more perfect it takes off to that magic place only the cocteau twins can attain. Pure brilliance...

  • that kid has to well into her teens already this came out in the early 90's.. wonder if she know's her parents are SOME DIFFERENT KIND OF PEOPLE,.. you always her of rock star kids and what to expect of them to do in music,..this one would have some pretty big shoes to fill..

  • read robin's blog she seems to know full well her parents are old farts :-)

  • chills-inducing.

liz iz da best, nevah knew da werds :]

  • absolutely wonderful!! thanks

  • *she grew up with robin her father and not with her (liz)

  • this bloody beautiful song made my hair on the back stand on end...liz is just so intelligent..i dont know whatever happened but she obviously wrote this for her daughter lucy. i dont know how but she grew up with Robin her and not with her. its like liz already knew that robin would have custody andt his is her song for lucy when she grows up to be a rebel because mama is not around..but after hearing this? how can lucy ever think liz ever forgets her..im crying now

  • Goodness, I cannot stop listening to this! This is so beautiful!!
