Awesome Jeep ! Agreed on loosing that body lift. My 95 YJ had one when I bought it and I took it out right away when I did my SOA. I'm running Rubicon Express SOA Springs and Shackle reversal kit giving 7 to 8" of lift for the 35x12.50's.
You better set your bump stops down or you will tweek the springs. I went through 2 sets of stockers.
i just did a SOA on my 79 CJ7. did you replace any of your drive shafts? mine barley connect. nice ride but you should have kept the stock bumbers, the new red ones are ugly.
That is one of the best looking Jeeps I have seen, it looks a lot like mine actually. I got a 2 inch body lift with 32's. I have my jack on the hood also. It's a black 94 YJ. Did you do the SOA yourself. How much did it cost you? Did you have to buy a slip yoke elimator? I'm in love with your jeep man. Here's a video of mine youtube.com/watch?v=0FOeN_IF528
I have 92 jeep yj I want to do the spring over axle but I'm not sure if it is something I can do with me and a buddy our should I just hire someone to do it.
I did it by myself on a 94 YJ in my dad's driveway, at age 18. I had to take the axles to get the perches welded on professionally, very important. Make sure you understand all the pros and cons before you weld man. Pros: 1) Huge lift ~4.5-5" with stock springs 2) low cost 3) soft ride and great flex. Cons: 1) axle wrap unless you get track bar ($450) 2) bump steer unless you swap to high steer setup ($400)
I have been thinkin of spring over but I hear bad things about it I have 87 yj with 35x14.5 tires and I would love that height!!did you get new lines drive shafts?what else what about steering all that any problems?
Its very nice looking Im liking the black and orangish red color highlights people seem to be going with..Its very nice the flat black is tight..All around nice job and good video thanks..
@TheKtmrider118 no it rides great, it actually flexes a lot better sine the leaf springs are old and flexy, where as most lift kits are very stiff. The main potential problem with a SOA is bump steer, but u can easily correct the steering geometryby installing a high steer kit, which is what I did
The "ride" with a SOA conversion is mostly unchanged, a little softer due to the smaller contact area. However you'll get some axle wrap, especially with stock springs and larger tires like 35"
jsut curious to how it rides witht he springs on top.. does it want to be pulled all over the road now or is it not to bad do you have either your track bars or sway bars in.. jsut trying to get some info i did a soa myself but its not done yet

You will need all you listed. Slip yoke, pitman arm. Rear CV, mayb extended front drive shaft. Extended steel brake lines. & if you want to still drive on the highway, u will need some type of high steer kit. U don't need 2 drop the t case cuz of the CV shaft

Bare minimum SOA is about $300 with perches, pitman arm, brake lines, and u-bolts.
Plus shocks, prices range like crazy.
You should add $500 for high steer kit (real bad bump steer).
And you'll need some kind of anti-wrap bar (35" tires) or special springs (axle wrap will be a problem)
If you tilt the axles and lower the transmission, you can get away without the CV driveshaft with stock springs.

too much body lift in my opinion... and i would run bigger tires when u need a new set

i'd lose the body lift. Are you having any problems with axle wrap? Also, is that a high-steer setup?
