When I first saw, as it were seated in Monty Python's confy chair, what exactly the New Leather were, I could not stop laughing. To tthis day echoes reverberate away. That the form leading on from it goes really deep is like a lost highway that can keep ghost riders foreva.
My sister got mad that I got the hang of playing the synth bits. She's bad at making music and if she didn't want me to be a fan of this band too she should have worn earphones...
First thing I heard by The Fall- first tune they played first time I saw them. They were supporting Here & Now on a free tour in '78 I think. Played their set in a small annexe away from stage- audience of about 12 people. I was electrified and bought this asap- Then the first lp soon as I could. Saw them about 4 times since then- last time mid 80s.
This is one of the first records i ever bought.got it at the underground market in Manchester piccadilly on a rainy saturday afternoon and couldn't wait to get the bus back home so i could play it.
