  • I'd buy it

  • Thinking about getting a 70th anniversary gun just to dick around with.

  • =].  ={]=[]={}

  • Ok let's start with 1 it's a Christmas STORY

2 you'll SHOOT your eye out

3 the fireing mech was still there just not the mag or barrel

  • 411 69 l8 411#5+93:/

  • Awesome!!! :D

  • its its its

  • pres 7 and 8 for quick draw lmao

  • Looks like the actual barrel is missing. Kind of odd that your grandfather thought it was dangerous. Wonder what he did with it when he was a kid that made him feel that way.

BTW, there's a video on youtube about the airgun Lewis & Clark took on their famous expedition. It was basically a PCP. The Red Ryder's compared to modern airguns. It's more like an airsoft pistol that shoots steel BBs. Check out the big bore guns that are being made now, designed for taking down large game.

  • The Daisy Red Ryder isn't the only thing that's retro. Your hair is trapped in the 1980's.

  • Love the description "yep"

  • is the web sight just daisy.com?

  • chrismas story not tale

  • @westiehockey13 trooooooooooolllllllllllller

  • A Christmas story dumbass

  • its its its...what spit it out man!!!

  • its a 1938....

  • A christmas story not tale

  • I would be laughing if there was a bb in there.......

  • i have the very first daisy from 1800 something....poor thing looks rough but its really hard to cock the barrel down they must have put a big spring in those types back then i found a lead shot in it..i thought they were copper or steel..

  • a. it's "A Christmas STORY" And B. It's "You'll SHOOT your eye out."

  • hey i have one too its in my army video check it out!

  • Are you having a seizure at the end of the video? You should really get that looked at by a medical professional.

  • Hi I just saw a shot tub for these older red ryders on ebay. It's sitting at $20.50. I think you just stick that in there and you should be able to get to shooting that classic. I wish I had one of the older ones. Mine is a 60th anniversery from 1998, they just dont hit as hard as the old ones did.

  • Hello Friend I could say that so durable are parts of this rifle a friend tells me that the lever with which loads is very fragile and falls easily I can say about their resistance thanks

  • that stock is real nice

  • total internet loser....

  • @pressrolls Haha you're calling him an internet loser when you have videos that are just nothing but shit haha I think you need to get a life my friend :)

  • It's a Christmas STORY not a Christmas "tail".

  • @kencan98 its not tail......its tale;)

  • @OneTrickPony13 its story

  • @kencan98 the funny thing is u put tail and not tale hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

  • @XxOriOJoExX1 lol.

  • you look like my uncle :D

  • not an original i have an original 1940 not really original sorry to dissapoint i have an original

  • have u ever thought of having the firing mech replaced by a gunsmith? most gunsmith's could probably fix it , then it could stay in the family and be a working model . just a thought . i like the vid as well ....an informative trip down memory lane .

  • I have not seen a vantage one in ages, if you want to get it working you could get the parts it is not hard, they still use the same parts today as they did back then.

  • its called the christmas story not a christmas tale

  • I have 2 Red Ryder BB guns...how do I find out what year they are? Can you help me with that? Thank you & enjoyed your video.

  • @sk8erchik1015 There should be a model and lot number on the top rear of the barrel. Get those numbers, then go to the Daisy web site. They should be able to tell you. Hope this helps.

  • @robtran its missing the forearm

  • 1940 i just got the 70th aniversary today it has a 70th aniversary seal on it

  • its called a christmas story

  • I love the guns aged look.

  • I didnt know billy mays promoted bb guns.

  • @ririckyrickyracoon03

no billy mase has to anoy the gods with his ads now!

  • I Shot One Today At A Carnival,

    It's got excellent accuracy!

  • id pay 20 bucks for it lol

  • go get a crosman phantom 1000x 1000fps 300mps

  • were you like drunk at the end?

  • That thing is sick. If you find the firing Mechanism, that thing would be worth over a couple thousand bucks

  • Nice, a classic. Love those things.

I want the 1930's crosman BB gun.

  • I have one too, and my father got his when he was about 10-12! But his was a pump action, and you have to pump it x10

  • dag nab that grand father

  • i like storys :P

  • its called a christmas story and you'll SHOOT your eye out not put your eye out.

  • nice i got a brand new one today

  • Thank you Rob!

Is the stock plastic or wood?

  • i think they used to make them out of wood, but now they're made out of plastic :(

  • no their not. got mine in 09, made out of wood.

  • Still made of wood.

  • @JoshuaThompsonM3 lol not the ones from wally world, thats for damn sure.. xD

  • @iHaveHate4All nuh uhh

  • wood

  • wood

  • I have found one that was my Uncle's, it has everything on it, but it still wont fire the bbs. i have the right size and everything.

  • Christmas STORY...not tale

  • i just got one for christmass too

  • you don't know the title??????????

  • ur adopteed?

  • got that at a garage sale for 2 bucks exactle the same big hole in berrel

  • Its to bad you cant find the rest of it.

  • imagin if u shot it and there waz somthin in it lol!!!

  • my friend has that kind of gun

  • if your going to satruty anything then say the truth and he needs to watch the movie 100 more times because he doesnt have a clue about what he is talking about

  • This guy needs to watch the movie again.

  • thats a buck not a red ryder

  • has red ryder on the stock lol

  • You'd really have to lob it to get it anwhere near 100 yards. Shooting it straight ahead, the bb will hit the ground in 20 or 30 yards. Lawyers write those "maximum range" disclaimers on the box. Research some bullet ballistics, you'll learn a bunch. Oh and buy the bb gun too.

  • i am thinking of getting this and i saw AT WALLYWORLD that is can go up to 195 yard 350 fps i dont know if its acurate 100 yards in can yu tell me

  • I doubt it's accurate at that range. To my knowledge no pellet or bb gun is, even those using compressed air from cans.

  • @robtran My crossman Storm XT with 1000fps will send the bullet flying in one direction so its very accurate and the bullet will be innacurate after about 1000 yards (or so i was told not be a dick if im wrong)

P.S. commpressed air guns are the most inaccurate

  • @robtran no the right pellet guns can be accurate up to 200 yards i shoot my gamo big cat up to 170 yards and its not even that powerful of a rifle, a air gun like an airfoce condor has no problem be lethal to small game up to 200 yards, ill post a video of 170 yard shooting soon as i get a better camera

  • @robtran how much are they worth now??

my uncle is gonna give it to me and its the same one he said he got it at a swap meet and then he put custom engraving art on it

  • @robtran thats true i tested it out

  • Actually i think you can buy a firing mechanisim for the red ryder because my friend got one from walmart that had no firing mechanisim and then he went online and bought one. So i think you can if you manage to find one then it may be worth something.

  • its a christmas story not a christmas tale

  • ty robtran but also i will only be shooting at a maximum of 40 feet so this gun might be good for me ty rob

  • im thinking of getting one are they good guns??

  • Not sure, though other viewers have written in that they're pretty good for close range target shooting. When I was a boy this one could hit a target dead-on at about 30 feet, and it was only using a single cocks worth of air pressure.

  • @UToobInc Thing is they've been making this model for over 70 years. If it wasn't good, I don't think it would have lasted that long.

  • my dad has 1 thats from 1938 and it woks perfect

  • wow! that is genuine

  • do you mean an m16. an m14 is a rifle not an assault rifle

  • what the heck is wrong with you man?

  • What a way to end a video I thoought you were having a mental freak out

  • which model is that i have a model 103

  • I have two of these, an original and a reproduction.

  • the would have been funny if there was a bb in there, and it have the fire mechanism worked and it broke his camera when he fired

  • 1: ITS a CHRISTMAS STORY! and 2: ITS YOU'LL SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT get ur shit straight before u put these vids on youtube

  • Nice! An original! i have the newer one, quite fun for a first bb gun

  • great vid!!! :) nice shirt :)

  • He taught you gun safety? Like dry firing and shooting the gun with your hand in front of it?

  • Its broken u friggin asshole

  • it doesnt shoot dumbass.

  • Doesn't matter dumbass. You are a moron and should be eradicated from society.

  • it does matter, and dry firing doesnt count with a BB gun! it dont have a firing pin.

IF the rifle/BBgun dont fire it is no longer a rifler/gun... but yet a just a toy!!!

it doesnt even have a barrel in it you dumbass..

not even a barrel! watch the vid again. you could get a roll of quarters down the barrel.

arrogant fuck. no firing mechanism! no threat! yet just a toy..

and the BB rifle was made to be a toy anyway.

  • English major of course. What complete idiot moronic Mensa applicant reject believes if a gun don't fire it's not a gun. Go back to Nascar hillbilly pond scum.

  • first off i dislike nascar it is stupid,

i'm not a hill billy, im from NJ.

so please you liberal fuck. English major or w.e? here is websters defination of a gun.

1 a: a piece of ordnance usually with high muzzle velocity and comparatively flat trajectory b: a portable firearm (as a rifle or handgun) c: a device that throws a projectile

no projectile? no velocity? no gun!

its as useless as a baseball bat.

  • Jersey sucks man i live here and I always wanted an air gun but now i can't have one because a bb gun is considered a firearm here so i have to wait until I'm 18 to get a permit. Im 16 so almost there :P lol. ANYWAYS..... lol liberals fucked this state up !

  • A Christmas Story, not tale.

  • i have one =D

  • Cool!

  • pause at 6:27

  • ???

  • its, its, its the original thing

    XDXDXD

  • you could probly find the part on ebay

  • i got the second one not the new one i have the black back

  • ive got three of those

  • awesome!

  • hey , is that stronger than te current one they are selling in walmart right now? someone message me back

  • what is yours sighted at

  • Nice gun mate i love old shit. Build quality was much better back in the old days lol.

  • u shoot chip munks with it

  • yeah man don't sell that put it in a frame!...seriously =)

  • you mean the christmas story not a christmas tail

  • it is a christmas story

  • i have that same one, your missing a few parts tooo, mine is great it still works and everything

  • its a buck

  • no cause it says "Daisy Red Ryder" on the stock

  • Does that shoot 4.5 metal BBs/

  • If that's the standard size, then yes.

  • isnt that the buck daisy

  • Not sure.

  • I do have a orginal Red Ryder from the first year of manufacture (1940). Wood stock and forearm, gold barrel bands, adjustable sight and cast iron cocking leaver. Yours is from about 1953/54 Daisy now sells a commerative Christmas Story Red Ryder only 1,500 were made.

  • A wood stock and forearm?! That must have been pretty damn slick! Actually my dad got his in 1949, for his 8th birthday. Plastic stock, no wood forearm, and pot metal manufacture. But it does have the same model and lot number as the gun featured in "A Christmas Story", which is pretty cool (look up thread a ways and you'll see a nice comment from a gent who told me the numbers).

  • i got a Daisy Model 25 gun with no scratches or marks on it. Its in mint condition, how much is it worth?

  • Sorry, but I don't have that kind of expertise. If you read through all the comments, there are a couple of people who seem to know that sort of thing. You could contact one of them.

  • Arsenal553-

Check the barrel. Was it made in Plymouth Michigan, or Rodger's Arkansas?

If it's from Plymouth and in as good of condition as you say, it's worth anywhere from $100 to $500, depending upon the manufacturing date. If Rodgers, maybe $75-150, again depending upon date. But those are rough figures.

Once you have the serial number, contact either the Plymouth Historical Museum, Plymouth Michigan, or the Daisy Museum in Rodgers Arkansas and they should be able to help with the date.

  • Go to the Daisy web site, there you can find information on your gun.

  • Dude! That is NOT a toy. (You could put an eye out with that thing.)

  • True enough!!

  • it's a red ryder

  • the daisy powerline 900 rules

  • i got a old red rider don't know how to load it tho has only a small hole on the side no 2nd tube.

  • your was probably made after 1980. The shot tube was eliminated and replaced with a small loading door on the barrel

  • Actually, that looks like the Red Ryder that came with the Daisy Gun-n-Scope Target Outfit.

The only things missing are the forearm and the targeting scope. It is a great look into Daisy's history. Thank you for sharing it with us!

  • You're most welcome!

  • my dad gave me his, hes now 46, and im 15 so i think mine is newer then yours, but i might make a video of me shooting it. me and my friends play around with it all the time :)

  • i got the new one for christmas!ur a cool guy

  • i will buy that busted red ryder from you for 45 dollars man. i really want an original red ryder.

  • it a a daisy 105 buck not a red ryder

  • naw it even says red ryder on the stock

  • I think that's a 105 Buck.

  • yous looks like a buck 105

and thats the third gen of

those daisy's. i wanna get it

  • i just got one of those fro a present today

  • Congratulations!

  • a christmas TALE???

  • I know, I know...it's "A Christmas Story." I always get the two words confused.

  • how old are you do you have a wife or a girl

  • Sorry, dude, I don't give out personal information like that.

  • Ok good... that you have a girl and no problem i understand

  • wow you got alot of views on this vid

  • I added it as a reply to another, VERY popular video. Also, I think the word has spread about it. There are a lot of people out there who collect these old, toy bb guns.

  • did the classics come with a fore arm

  • Don't know what that is.

  • fore grip?

  • ya that the grip u put ur hands on for pumping

  • I think out-of-the-box when my dad got it for Christmas it had a stock for that purpose, yes.

  • O ok would u selll it

  • No, it's a family heirloom. My dad got it from my grandparents and played with it as a boy, as did I, and my son (if I ever have one) will play with it too.

  • o cool

  • The orginal 1940 had a all wood stock and forearm. The model shown in this vid is from about 1953/54

  • I got mine in the early 90's and it has a wood stock and forearm. It's some kind of anniversary one though, it came with a comic book and had some coin thing stamped into the stock but..... I sawed it off trying to be the terminator when I was little. Now it's covered in rust and has a sawed off stock but it's still extremely accurate.

  • awsome vid weres the fore arm

  • Not sure what you mean by a "fore arm."

  • forearm is the wood in your case plastic part that goes under the barrel

  • Enticing storyziz.

  • Glad you enjoyed them!

  • Its "a Christmas Story" not tale

  • I always get that confused. Thanks for correcting me.

  • cool!!!

  • It is, isn't it!!

  • 5 stars

  • Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
