Mecca in Saudi Arabia is the woman that rides the scarlet beast. Mecca sits on seven mountains. Five kings have fallen (Rev 17) and one is in Saudi Arabia today. One of the kings (Rev 13 and Rev 17) received a fatal wound; he is the king who was and is not and will come. He will ascend the bottomless pit and go to destruction. He, is not, because of the fatal wound. Mecca's port Jidda is the wealthiest port in the middle east and western asia.go to meccasevenmountains dot blogspot dot com
If I sat a young girl from the ghetto who had been raped by her father and beaten and abondoned by her crack-addict mother- how would she respond to this teaching?
I have been watching these videos all day. Its so refreshing to hear a man who speaks the truth!!! Thank You, LORD, for Paul Washer and his ministry!!! Thank You for Your Word
Carnal Christianity is most definitely not only rooted in grace at the expense of truth;it is also truth at the expense of grace. The Bible without the Spirit is a word that wounds, and it isnt the wound of a friend. Ear tickling is just as much about a truther's addiction to a masochistic, beat-me-up gospel that isnt the gospel at all.
@patriciacarrasco i think you'd want your husband to do the same... but he said that if there was a man who sat and watched his wife get raped he would handle him by the way.
Folks, its really not about the reformation of the mind but a regenartion of the Heart. (example: King Neb) Not a mere human decesion but truly an act of GOD! It was by the preaching and the hearing of the word, that I became born again. What comes from puplit should not always tickle the ears but it should also make one tremble. For if we understood the difficult doctrine of the love of GOD, then we
would understand the GOSPEL! Carnal Christianity is in abundance!
I feel like he is the only one that understands the Gospel exceptionally well. I'm so glad I found out about him. God has used brother Paul to really deepen my understanding and maturity. Sadly, as I learn more about these issues, I'm seeing how carnal and fake the Christianity is around me. I'm praying that God will use in some way to change that.
@ImSoPeeved I was in the same situation. The cristianity around me was fake. Until my family found a calvinist church whom the pastor preaches nothing but the word of god (and thought not as well known as paul) knows the Bible on the same level. I am truly blessed with the church I go to.
@ImSoPeeved I think a consistent Calvinist must believe in predestination. It is in Scripture. Study the Scriptures, though. Ask yourself how is God most glorified? If He does ALL or if He only does some. You should check out James white at Aomin(dot)org. He has some good resources on it.
@JohnMichaelMatta Well, I admit the Bible does seem like it has predestination teachings, 2 Peter 2:20 for example, I believe. However, I have the hardest time believe God would "choose" who goes to heaven or hell. This is particularly hard to stomach if it means everyone I witness to may be incapable of accepting the Gospel message. Does that make sense? Please reply if you know much about this. It's bothering me immensely.
@ImSoPeeved It was hard for me to accept it to. When I realize that all of us are unworthy and we all deserve hell, it becomes easier to accept. The fact that God, by His grace, has saved any is amazing.
The question should not be, "How could God send anyone to hell?" It should be, "How can a perfect and holy God accept a sinner like me?"
I hope that helps, give Romans 9 a look for more on God's sovereignty in salvation. All of Romans is great for this subject.
@JohnMichaelMatta I appreciate you helping. But then the question becomes why would God choose me. Certainly I have seen a supernaturally change in my life through Christ. But there are far more worldly people who are about as moral as me and nicer too. What about everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved? Granted the next verse says not all shall inherit heaven, but if God chose who should be saved, aren't we all robots with no free will?
@ImSoPeeved Honestly, why God chose us specifically is a mystery. It is certainly nothing within us, we didn't do anything.
As for robots, the issue is that apart from God's call, we are unable to do anything good. We are enslaved to sin until He frees us from it. We cannot choose to be saved because it is completely an act of God.
We are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, given faith by God, none of our salvation is of ourselves. If God didn't choose us then we would be lost.
@JohnMichaelMatta Well I certainly respect your view on it. And I understand. However, I don't fully accept it. I don't fully accept Armenianism either, though. If God chose indiscriminately no parent should ever even consider having a child. I could never take that risk of raising a kid to be damned from the beginning. God says he delays His coming so that none should perish. He so loved the "world". I do believe certain people are elected, but I can't except full Calvinism.
Great sermon! Honestly! But have been watching many of your videos here on You Tube and it seems like that "some" of people whom you have preached to, or have come to the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus and power of the Holy Spirit are in question? What's next? A lie detector test? And Yes! We should ALL be "sold out" unto the Lord Jesus Christ and His righteousness, but you might want to try some "Hopeful" type preaching. You just look upset and unrelenting on how people are not truly saved!
@gourmetmn lol He is upset and so is God. You think God likes it when you call on him and tell people you are saved and you live just as worldly if not more than people who openly say they are not into God like that? Ain't no hope if you can't serve God with all your heart. He is trying to get yall to see that because people are dying going to hell and think they are living right!!! Humans need to know how in danger they really are so they can start doing things the way God wants them too.
(John 3:5 KJV) "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
(John 3:6 KJV) "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."
(John 3:7 KJV) "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN OF WATER AND SPIRIT IS ADHERENCE AND OBEDIENCE TO ACTS 2:38 ,
I do not need a preacher, priest or reverend to lift my spirits or inspire me. I use the love I have for god in my heart, and the beauty of life he gives me each and every day he taps me awake to start a new day, as the inspiration I need to coninue to love god and stay within joy. I cannot and will not allow any man or woman on this earth to dictate to me wheher I will go to hell for doing or not doing something. Not your right or place to dictate to me how I worship. No christ like folks here
This never gets old. With each passing year it seems the church get weaker, the pastors more afraid to do anything but lull the congregation to sleep, and us sheep have to rely on the internet to find sermons that uplift us. Sadly, my church isn't that bad, just that the pastor seems like he doesn't want to rock the boat. I also find that the vast majority of people I've interacted with never mention their faith. You have to wonder why they even bother attending church!!
does it not say in the bible that we will know as we are fully known? where is the biblical proof that decides we will not comprehend the gospel after Christ's return? to me brother washer is one of the most accurate bible teachers, however he as all of us only knows in part and may take license in some of his statements.
Paul Washer teaches the TRUTH. We need more pastors like him these days. No nonsense, no joking around, fire and brimstone messages, and so on. We've gotten away from that and this is the reason we have seeker friendly and emergent churches out there. Let's go back to the cross and the message of Jesus Christ! Let's get back to telling the people the truth. You need to be saved by God from God because you can't save yourself and his judgement is on you if you don't accept Him because He is JUST
They can study pray sing fast. If one is not called then Understanding and Wisdom which are of the seven spirits of God are not given to that man to open and expound on in the scriptures, for they are not open unto that him.
I enjoy so much listening to Paul Washer. He is truly a man of God. Be blessed my brother ! Salutations from Romania ! I shall pray for you this night : ).
@NTNC- if you bash him as an opportunist, then please say what he has gained thru his work. Obviously the expensive suits, private jet, limos, and that new Lambo.....Oh wait, he has none of that.
I can say two things: One,you are not a Christian. Two: your heart is clouded.
If you do not like the message nor Christian, go listen to your non-believing associates. The bible says all are sinners and deserve punishment for unrepented sin. You seem to know enough about God to do everything to deny Him. I pray that you don't let your heart which is wicked deceive you much longer.
Opportunism need not be about $. PW enjoys a considerable following and is given a platform to lead a subservient audience. For some, this is plenty to live for. Jim Jones was not wealthy, his inner craving was the loyalty of his cult following. Not to say this is the extent of PW's ambitions, after all, Jim Jones went bezerk when he felt he was losing the cohesiveness of his flock. Many preachers are addicted to their status within the believing community.
Hm, paul washer's ambitions are to recruit followers.1.This statement applies to everyone, including you, in that you're trying to recruit me to believe what you're saying to be true and follow you. 2. Paul washer points to Jesus Christ which is not at all unbiblical. Paul(converted saul) told a church to follow him as long as he was like Christ and to abandon him when he was not. We're all opportunist. I doubt very much he's preaching for an alterior reason. If so, he knows his damnation.
what bible do you read the bible is in all ways pointing to Christ remember when he said(Jesus) I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father but through me
Your issue 42B seems to be a virulent lack of understanding. Looking at a woman and lusting over her, watching porno, or telling a lie, and even murder is sin. None worse than the other, the same. All punishable by hell. Its a choice you make, not God. You decide your fate. To live life eternal with Jesus, or an eternity wishing you had.
PW tells it straight forward, no icing or sugar coating. Yes it can be hard to digest, but we must. its not offensive bc he preaches truth.
ALL sin is punishable by hell. Your issue is you want to grade or categorize sin. Murder and suicide are on par with lust and lying. Its not the sin, it is against whom you are sinning. Thus yes...it is worthy of sever and eternal punishment.
The Bible says:REPENT, go and sin no more.
What I think is irrelevant. What God thinks is what is.
@nonthiestnc Although an unregerated person is punished for the deeds done in the body, they go to hell for what they are not, and that is holy. A regenerated person is being is being sanctified by Christ & will be made holy when glorified. Look into doctrine of substitutionary atonement and original sin.
The Christian under PW preaching is made to feel that something evil and disgusting is always at work in his soul. Ones relationship with self is defined by self-contempt, self punishment, and self-unraveling. Inner warfare results when every desire must be turned back on itself with shame and self loathing with the ever-present danger that one may slip and find himself in the clutches of the damned. In this, Paul Washer finds pornographic satisfaction.
@42- This is the real issue, turning EVERY thought, action, & deed over to God. Not self. Die to self, live for Jesus...not PW. PW is harsh, but again, most preachers want a "best life now" mentality. They dont deal with sin at its core and with truth. Most prefer to tell you God loves you and all will be fine in heaven bc you must be going bc you said a prayer. JMHO.
Bash PW if u finds satisfaction in it. It takes love and nerve to say what he does, 50+ years ago, thats the way it was.
I can only hope you PW enthusiasts will reclaim your minds. Here you all are sitting passively under the dictation of this lunatic. I invite you all to just turn off the sound and watch the body language of this self absorbed rouge. Where is your dignity as individuals? Wake up!!!
PW is not one dimensional, he is narrow minded. The narrow path that is spoken of in the Bible. Broad is the way to the 2nd death. I celebrate my "human spirit" everyday. Now I dont get drunk, do drugs, , live the hollywood lifestyle. I live a life that celebrates the gift I have been given, life. I don't look as God interfering in my life; for this life was given to me by Him, thus I must treat it as such. If I am wrong, we both go out OK. If I'm right, then what will you do. One day all will..
rmlrobl, I have a question for you. You seem to believe in God. Do you believe that the bible is the Word of God? Jesus Says none will come to the father except through me. What do you do with a message like that? Please read Hebrews 12, there the writer speaks about a God lovingly INTERFERRING and disciplining His childeren. THAT'S the God of the bible my friend...
hello hes: remember the bible was written 100's of years later by some 40-60 men. theres bound to be mistakes, exgarated, misunderstood story telling.
you're wrong. The Bible was written over a span of 1500 years, by 40 men. The whole new Testament was written by either eye witnesses of Jesus' life, or somebody who knew the eye witness. And all within 50 years of Christs' death. There are no mistakes, nothing is exaggerated, and they aren't stories, it's the history of the world, and why we're here, and how God's saving the world through Christ. History is His Story!
hello big. first part you agree with me. now give me compelling evidence that christ died 50 yrs after? i will take 3 reputable sources that are evidentual, scientific from real sources and email or mail them to me.. we are entering a post-christian era.
HIS children, not all are His children. If the reject Jesus, they reject Him and are not His. It would seem you may have misunderstood my point, forgive me. If you live for God,God is not interfering, He is loving, correcting, disciplining, and admonishing. Interfering has a negative connotation. There is no negative side with God.
not all churches, especially in the US are Christian. They may claim to be, but few are. They may have Christians in them, but not all in the congregation are. The Bible says the wheat will grow with the tares. God's people do live in this world and they are His. I have no guilt nor fear other than awesome fear of God. I have repented and confessed, so I have no guilt. If you refer to the church as some local body, then your eyes are not on Christ who loves you and died for you.
What measure do you use to determine who is Christian or not? If you say adequate faith for salvation is evidenced by deeds, then what deeds? Carry this to far and you become a Pharisee who demanded impossible actions worthy of God.
Enough of this "gun to the head" (you better shape up or else) crap. What kind of God do you serve how will sustain a person's life in hell just so he or she will forever feel torment (and for what?...going to a Britney Speer concert, enjoying a movie with a PG rating?) What's wrong with you people!!!!????
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
RML> You see, there was, nor ever will be a contradiction in the Bible. You can not take two indiv. lines and say they contradict. Compare the verses. Also, you will need a prog to get the Hebrew or Greek.
Again, how are works burned and not the person that did them? Also, if I am hearing you right, per your comments on Eph, how does a regenerated person (who does good works naturally in keeping with being saved) do the kind of things that will be burned once he gets to heaven. And how much of "heaven" can there be in the experience of just making it out alive after the burning of worthless deeds? How is one ever sure they are doing enough good to escape the flames?
You can never do enough to be "saved". THAT is a gift of God's grace and you believing on Jesus Christ and all He did as pertaining to the Gospel.
Apart from that, no one would make heaven, as far as those that heard the Gospel. Those that died w/o the Gospel, again, only God is the Judge. Our "good" works are a sign or symptom if you will of who lives in us. Apart from Christ, there is no holiness or righteousness that can be gained. Only by faith in believing on Christ can one be born again.
As for Paul Washer, the man is one dimensional, obsessively compulsive about the total depravity he perceives in his fellow believers; verbally scrubbing them till they bleed; while unable to celebrate anything of the human spirit. He seems like a very angry person, overly caught up in his creepy belief system. Alas, the man who's career it is to call sinners to account, fails to find sin in his ambition to superior sanctimony.
The message he preaches is harsh. It needs to be. If I may, somone like yourself, where I once was, who believes the Bible is not Truth, and it is "man-made", you must reject any thought of sin and judgement, and use cliches like " human spirit. The only reason you breathe and have life is thru God. The only reason your parents could have sex and produce you is by God's divine creation. This universe did not explode and we evolved. We were created, He is the Creator. As created, we live for Him.
1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. .....>
Rom 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. RML->If man does a work without the Spirit, it will produce nothing eternal. You can walk an elder across the road, and it seems good to you. However, we were created to be good, therefore it was expected of you. So if you do not do it, you were in error. When exergeting the Bible, it nust be done within the context of the true church, not in the world.
Eph2:8- says we are saved by faith, the gift of God. James 2:24 says they are justified by works. You see, if someone has tryly been regenerated, they will do good work simply because the Spirit lives in then, not because as man they are good.
Show me where, quote the sermon, and the time where he says salvation is not free. Thank you. (Remember tho, Paul is a man.)
Read the following. You could be CUT OFF from God.
Romans 11:20-22 -" But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off."
Again, OUT OF CONTEXT, read Rom11:16-Speaking of being grafted in then boasting. We can boast not, for it is God who did the work, not you or I. You can not use a set, it must be in context.
If you choose not to believe, then when that day comes, you will have the opportunity to explain to God why you rejected His beloved Son. My prayer is you see the error before it is too late. We are not promised tomorrow.
Apparently we are the only two debating this issue. I see no other responses. Any way, I think you are missing my points which confirms my belief that the written language is a poor vehicle for "god" to transmit messages through human history. My belief is that the bible is of human manufacture; so also, is the way it is received and modified over the centuries.
I will not disagree with you on that point. Man has constantly tried to modify the Bible. If they don't like something in it, they want to change it to suit their needs. If someone does not like the idea that God will one day send people to hell, they come up with thier own reason. Look at the evolution and homosexual agenda being mandated by law into public schools. Why, people want want what they want and naturally rebel against authority, especially when it is as personal as God is.
You believe written language is a poor vehicle for God to transmit language, yet you're using written language to condemn, well, written language. Had it been modified older copies would testify to this.
Words are all we have of god's so called 'revealed" truth. But these words are human. It is delusional to ascribe heavenly origin to these documents. What's more, they are interpreted by humans resulting in everything from snake handlers to Roman Catholic beliefs.
You're using words to show me that word's are useless to convey meaning. Which is a self refuting argument but lets digress. If not language, what would be an appropriate avenue for a divine being to express himself to his creation, outside of language. ??
Salvation is not free. I requires working out with fear and trembling. All believers are subject to losing their right standing with God. Don't get comfortable with God's grace; If you are saved your works will likely be burned and you will be spared but only ones who barely escape the flames. Even the great P. Washer may not be too sure if he has done enough for his god.
In what part of the Bible does it say salvation not free...Ephesians 2:8 says that it is a gift of God...
So does Romans 5...Have you ever worked for a gift? You must have got your doctrine of salvation from a Jehovah' witness book, because it is not from the Bible...
ALL works will be burned and tried by fire, for no work is worthy nor sufficient. Salvation(mercy & Grace) are free. Price paid accepting that gift, to accept it is to walk away from your flesh and die to self. Jesus paid the price on the cross that we should suffer for our sins. We pay a price by rejecting this world and all it stands for and living the life to be like Christ. The gift is free, the journey is not "free" it is a work and a walk, running the good race to the only worthy cause.
Your Bible is of two minds on this and other issues. Apart from theological contortions, you cannot resolve the Bible's contradictions, especially on this centerpiece of Christian beliefs. I offer you a sample that contradicts Eph: 2:8, and that is: James 2:24 showing that faith alone does not result in one's justification. Apart from works, this faith (or means to receive divine grace) is dead. Therefore, works legitimizes the faith that embraces grace. No works no salvation. You say?
How do you separate a person from their works? If I am not mistaken "works" by themselves do not go to prison nor are they given medals. It is the person who does the works that is either condemned or rewarded. How then does God burn works alone?
Powerful preaching! I prayed to the Lord to rise more preachers like Paul Washer. We need to hear more about the Truth and truths. The repentance for Christians is a daily living life. It is even more serious for God's servants because they have the resposibilities to preach the Truth. We need to seek for the narrow gate because that leads to life, and only a few find it..( Mat. 7:14)
Christianity in America is more diversified than Mr Washer projects in his statements. He speaks to a small faction of those "believers" who think like he does. Outside this cult following, Mr Washer's remarks are a joke.
I'm sorry to tell you this, but he is preaching the Truth... the WHOLE Truth! This is not a Cult, it is biblical preaching...maybe you ought to try reading your bible with an open and honest heart before God & pray for Him to open your eyes to truth. If you shrug this off, you may regret it for the rest of Eternity
Here in Japan the Seeker Sensitive movement is faaaar more extensive than in USA. Churches readily mix Christians and non-Christians in congregation.
Recently while evangelizing in Takadanobaba (one of the stations in Tokyo area) I ran into this homeless guy who was baptized at a local church - I even photocopied his baptism certificate. Yet, he said that he never read the bible and was a Buddhist in his heart.
He was what this preacher termed as a "goat acting like a sheep".
Why on earth would you think that??? I'm OBVIOUSLY talking about God's love shown through his son...we as christians have to try to deal with real people in a post modernist society...I tremble when I consider hell for people I love. but this type of preaching (in my part of the world anyway,) no-one will listen to...so how do I reach them?. It's distressing to hear how much preaching God's love seems to be scoffed at.
"but this type of preaching (in my part of the world anyway,) no-one will listen to..."
I disagree:
"25Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. ....., 26but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." John 10.
Sorry, but I know people who have had bad experiences with this type of approach, and are now not receptive to the gospel. I'm not saying it's not true, but there are other approaches, such as explaining God's love, to people who may not have anyone else ever loving them. I have led people to know God by doing that.
i think the gospel is a complete package and no part should be overemphasised to the detriment of another. It's talking about some part of the gospel and not others that leads to false views of who God is and thus liberalism or worse.
I agree!! BUT...the gospel should spread in LOVE, and carefully so as not to turn people away before they have heard. Look at some of the comments on some of the atheist clips on youtube...people now see Christians as judgemental and unloving, whether this is true or not. Not saying we should be 'liberal', but not as 'hard-faced' as this guy Washer...never seen him tell anyone that GOD LOVES THEM.
He does preach the gospel love of Christ, and is badly represented on youtube in that sense. In any case i do think his rebuke is a form of love (just not the hollow wishy washy love of our culture).
OK, sorry but Youtube stuff is all pretty harsh sounding. Don't think love is wishy washy tho'...can be pretty hard, and it is what Jesus said would be the mark of those who are his. Think we're also dealing with culture difference between UK and US. Think seeker-sensitive means different thing here. Anyway, God Bless, thanks for chat.
The difference in terminology is found in 'seeker sensitive' and 'seeker friendly'. A church should be 'seeker friendly', that is outwardly focused and evangelistic but uncompromising on what the gospel is. 'Seeker sensitive' is ultimately the view that the gospel needs to be tweaked to make it relevant to culture (to get people in the door and keep them) - this approach ultimately leads to heresy (the gospel is no longer the gospel) or at least liberalism (gospel is weak).
Well if you tell unconverted people that God loves them and leave out that they hate God thus the need for repentance. Most people don't realize this and say they believe in God and Christ because they don't want to go to Hell incase it's true and it sounds right living like Jesus. They don't really believe with their heart because they haven't been baptized with the Holy Spirit which shows you the truth.
So they live their lives trying to uphold the law themselves which is impossible.
Atheists are as hypocritical as we are, just because they are arrogant in their ignorance makes little difference ultimately. In these clips Washer is critical of weak gospel presentations and i think rightly so. I have seen more unbelievers burnt by such churches (because they have no depth) than strong bible based ones.
sorry, but you are not helping them or loving them if you don't share with them their true need for Jesus. It doesn't make sense to a pagan to follow Jesus if not for their desperate need of saving them from their sins. You must give the patient the diagnosis before the cure, or they will laugh in your face and throw out the cure.
That's not my experience. You can also appeal to people who feel 'is there more to life than this?' without trying to scare them into becoming Christian in case they burn in hell. If the Lord is raised up he will draw others to Him.
Alastairl, I am not talking about hellfire brimstone preaching, I am talking about using the Law, the 10 commandments as a mirror to show them their need for Christ. Paul said the Law was a schoolmaster to bring them to Christ. Hell doesn't seem reasonable until you use the Law to show them they are Lawbreakers. you can open the conv. anyway you want to, but you must eventually get to the issue of their desperate need of a saviour who paid their fine for them.
If they don't recognize their sin for what it is, they won't ever truly be saved. You can't be saved apart from a life of repentance which results in living more and more like Jesus & His teachings. I have been in churches where all they do is say, "we all sin" and "pray to be saved" and they assume the people are saved.. many show no indication of changed hearts/lives I don't think they need to be :"scared" , but they do need to understand seriousness of sin. too many believe in cheap Grace
How did you come up with that? I listen, many others have too. Washer is right. Inthis particular target audience who need to hear that. Who's Washer addressing? Those people need to hear it.
You are a Christian (thanks for your gracious apology btw) I'm talking about reaching the "unchurched" - millions of people in the uk who don't know anythingabout Jesus.if you present them with hellfire preaching, they may turn their back on God forever. I believe people are searching for that missing part in their life (which we know is the Lord). I think there is a huge difference in culture between uk and us. In US people may call themselves christian, and that may be who PW is preaching to.
"I think there is a huge difference in culture between uk and us."
Yeah, you're right, there is. I'm from the UK. There is less cultural Christianity there than in the US. I currently live in Canada and here in Canada it's like the UK. Les cultural Christianity than in the US also. Perhaps we should preach out of the Bible without any manmade spin?
If hellfire preaching is not a proper presentation as part of preaching the gospel then Christ himself had a flawed method. Sweetness of the gospel cannot be understood without a presentation of the true plight of man's wickedness and ultimate destiny. John 3:16 . . does not only promise everlasting life to those who believe, but perishing to those who don't. Bless you.
PVFellowship - the verb dialegomai's semantic range also includes address and speak, neither of which requires a dialogue or more than one person addressing or speaking. Basic meanings of words, especially Greek words, do not define them but rather provide a starting point for understanding their implications and connotations. Your translation and definition of the word is too loaded.
There is a marvelously liberating, wonderful Greek word that sometimes is not translated so hot. The word is ? (dialegomai). You are really gonna like this word. This is why. There is absolutely no way you can translate this word "to preach, teach, or sermonize." The basic meaning of this word is to "have a conversation." There has to be more than one person talking to have a conversation. Right? This could even be a "heated conversation," hence, a "controlled argument."
This guy constantly slags off other churches...I'm sure showing love to people and sharing what we know to be REAL about the new life Jesus has given us, may be labelled "seeker friendly" - why is that bad.? I've never yet heard this guy talk about LOVE...that's what we should preach.
If you love someone you tell them the truth, that they are going to Hell, not the "I'm ok you're ok" new age gospel that you hear in churches today! That's not ok.
the pulpit should be our means of discipleship? is that modeled after the bible? after how Jesus hung out with 12 guys for three years? i am not a huge fan of seeker sensitive churches, but really? we need deeper theological books and better preaching...then people will be saved? i don't read that ANYWHERE in the gospels
Evidently you missed the point of what he was saying, but the reason the Bible doesn't say that is because for the most part, large problems like we have today didn't occur the same. He tells Timothy and Titus how to combat the idea of what we have today by being bold with the gospel, but clearly he is giving a commentary on our society today, and how foul it is.
but the best is not for you... he will never call you to come to the altar and repent.asking Jesus into your heart that you may obtain Soul Salvation and live eternal life with Jesus..
Why? Sadly hes a Calvinist and believes you may be one of those God made for hell.
Calvinist believe God chose some for heaven and some for hell ... from the foundations of the world...
Imagine that... God making a man for hell fire. Jesus died for all men.. All CAN BE saved..
what's wrong with Calvinism? how is God evil or wrong for creating somebody for hell? why does a preacher have to call people to the altar to receive salvation?
i don't disagree with your statement, "ALL CAN BE saved." that is absolutely true if God wants to do that. The simple fact is that not all will be saved. Why do you think that is?
thats the problem with calvinism. It says that christ comes for some. The bible doesn't say that. Jesus says if he be lifted up he will draw all men to him. He even says the comes that all men may be saved. But its clear that there is no intention to build bridges between calvinist camps and armenian camps.
Can you please show me an example of Jesus, the apostles, the New Testament Church, or any church before the 1800s doing alter calls and advising people to ask Jesus into their hearts?
An alter call is simply a way to help people who are scared or confused about what they are feeling have it explained to them.
There isn't anything wrong with an "alter call". The problem is that pastors treat alter calls like a recruiting depot to obtain members and care nothing for the truth of salvation.
Even though, no, you don't find "alter calls" in the Bible, I wouldn't say that a real one is unbiblical at all in context.
Romans 9:21-23 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
On a serious note...I've heard no better truth ever on the face of this earth....
You know why I say that? Because he is preaching truths from the BIBLE! How I am sick of preachers preaching from personal experiences and dreams etc etc! Men like Paul Washer preach from the Bible...it's amazing that this is not the norm anymore...
Amen! We need JESUS around here. Jesus, not a washed out gospel. Also, he didn't say though he touched on it--its the pastor's job to feed the flock and its the evangelist's job to seek out the goats and tell them they're goats. Pastor's don't have to feed the sheep's food to the goats! It won't nourish the goats. Its the evangelist's job to go to the goats and the pastor's job to shepard the sheep, once brought in.
God bless you, Lane, for sharing these videos with us. I know sometimes you take a lot of heat for some of your videos but my brother, it is worth it in the end.
If it weren't for people like you uploading these videos, I would never have heard of Mr. Washer. And it's God's truth through clergy like him that sets the record straight. I second Karen's vote of support.
I sometimes have to come back and watch his videos. See the way he goes from talking about real vs. carnal church members then goes into a scenario about someone raping his wife in a parking lot? That is the Holy Spirit through Washer voicing His devotion for the true church--the bride, the wife, of Christ. And she is being raped by indifference, habit, and vainglorious competition between clergy where church membership has become more important than SALVATION.
Is this not so true? it breaks my heart. Jesus doesn't need to be made more "presentable". He is Lord! we are so busy making the Gospel into an entertainment circus that a lot of people don't even know the true Gospel.
Hi, shockingalternative! I agree. Jesus said to preach the Gospel, not "package it in an attractive and acceptable form". It's the Spirit's function to speak to the heart. If we speak the true Gospel, then He will convict our listeners' hearts of the Truth. Whether someone acts on that truth is their eternal choice, and is out of our hands. God doesn't need us to appeal to someone's self-centered desires.
Good word RobL2756...Mr. Washer preaches a sometimes hard word but if you are hungry for Jesus and to see His Kingdom on this earth I say "to him who is hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet"...in America the Gospel is about anything but denying yourself picking up your cross and following Jesus...I heard an Iranian pastor, who had gotten kicked out of Iran, telling us about the persecution they go through there. How they continue preaching the Gospel even though they maybe
Every word out of his mouth just carves me into--it is SO TRUE. Sheep starve and wander as the lukewarm multitudes lower the temperature of the Water. The goats get all the consideration, for all their groaning and destruction. And yet pastors bend over backward to please them to keep that money in the plate and their grumbling, put-upon participation. After all, the tables have to be decorated, right? Even though Christ would kick them over. The show must go on, at His expense.
oops they-the seeker sensitive churches-give you no convictions at all.I have been apart of this kind of a church and see how much they talk about the Gospel after the service is over-Never!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is why many people who are in bondage and trying to get out stay in it because these seeker sensitive churhes that say do not worry Jesus loves you and there is consequenses to this end no convictons in these abominations that they all churches. We need more Paul Washer sermonds about the gospel.

Paul Washer will beat up someone who rapes his wife? i know its his wife but..he might need to forgive instead....

please please correct me if i am wrong, i am a sophomore in highschool,
but in one of the other sermons of paul, he mentions that in his life, excluding the trinity,
his wife comes 1st, then his children, then his ministry. so... forgiveness i think is in ministry, so
maybe it makes sense that he is willing to fight for his wife and defend her feministic values in whatever way possible.

ImSoPeeved 1 year ago 6
@ImSoPeeved I was in the same situation. The cristianity around me was fake. Until my family found a calvinist church whom the pastor preaches nothing but the word of god (and thought not as well known as paul) knows the Bible on the same level. I am truly blessed with the church I go to.

@3BALL4 Do all Calvinists believe in predestination, or was that just John Calvin himself? Pardon my ignorance, but I am curious.
ImSoPeeved 2 weeks ago
@ImSoPeeved as far as I know.
3BALL4 2 weeks ago
@ImSoPeeved I think a consistent Calvinist must believe in predestination. It is in Scripture. Study the Scriptures, though. Ask yourself how is God most glorified? If He does ALL or if He only does some. You should check out James white at Aomin(dot)org. He has some good resources on it.
Blessings.
JohnMichaelMatta 2 weeks ago
@JohnMichaelMatta Well, I admit the Bible does seem like it has predestination teachings, 2 Peter 2:20 for example, I believe. However, I have the hardest time believe God would "choose" who goes to heaven or hell. This is particularly hard to stomach if it means everyone I witness to may be incapable of accepting the Gospel message. Does that make sense? Please reply if you know much about this. It's bothering me immensely.
ImSoPeeved 1 week ago
@ImSoPeeved It was hard for me to accept it to. When I realize that all of us are unworthy and we all deserve hell, it becomes easier to accept. The fact that God, by His grace, has saved any is amazing.
The question should not be, "How could God send anyone to hell?" It should be, "How can a perfect and holy God accept a sinner like me?"
I hope that helps, give Romans 9 a look for more on God's sovereignty in salvation. All of Romans is great for this subject.
JohnMichaelMatta 1 week ago
@JohnMichaelMatta I appreciate you helping. But then the question becomes why would God choose me. Certainly I have seen a supernaturally change in my life through Christ. But there are far more worldly people who are about as moral as me and nicer too. What about everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved? Granted the next verse says not all shall inherit heaven, but if God chose who should be saved, aren't we all robots with no free will?
ImSoPeeved 1 week ago
@ImSoPeeved Honestly, why God chose us specifically is a mystery. It is certainly nothing within us, we didn't do anything.
As for robots, the issue is that apart from God's call, we are unable to do anything good. We are enslaved to sin until He frees us from it. We cannot choose to be saved because it is completely an act of God.
We are regenerated by the Holy Spirit, given faith by God, none of our salvation is of ourselves. If God didn't choose us then we would be lost.
JohnMichaelMatta 1 week ago

This never gets old. With each passing year it seems the church get weaker, the pastors more afraid to do anything but lull the congregation to sleep, and us sheep have to rely on the internet to find sermons that uplift us. Sadly, my church isn't that bad, just that the pastor seems like he doesn't want to rock the boat. I also find that the vast majority of people I've interacted with never mention their faith. I can say two things: One,you are not a Christian. Two: your heart is clouded.
If you do not like the message nor Christian, go listen to your non-believing associates. The bible says all are sinners and deserve punishment for unrepented sin. You seem to know enough about God to do everything to deny Him. I pray that you don't let your heart which is wicked deceive you much longer.
rmlrobl 2 years ago
@rmlrobl
42BETWO 2 years ago
Hm, paul washer's ambitions are to recruit followers.1.This statement applies to everyone, including you, in that you're trying to recruit me to believe what you're saying to be true and follow you. 2. Paul washer points to Jesus Christ which is not at all unbiblical. Paul(converted saul) told a church to follow him as long as he was like Christ and to abandon him when he was not. We're all opportunist. I doubt very much he's preaching for an alterior reason. If so, he knows his damnation.

Yes it can be hard to digest, but we must. its not offensive bc he preaches truth.
rmlrobl 2 years ago
hello mlr: question do you think if i saw you looking at a lady (other than wife) is punishable by hell?

looking or lusting? What was in your mind and heart when you glanced or stared? Then you have your answer.
rmlrobl 2 years ago
hello mlr: lusting. do u think you deserve hell for this ?
nonthiestnc 2 years ago
ALL sin is punishable by hell. Your issue is you want to grade or categorize sin. Murder and suicide are on par with lust and lying. Its not the sin, it is against whom you are sinning. Thus yes...it is worthy of sever and eternal punishment.
The Bible says:REPENT, go and sin no more.
What I think is irrelevant. What God thinks is what is.
rmlrobl 2 years ago
@nonthiestnc Although an unregerated person is punished for the deeds done in the body, they go to hell for what they are not, and that is holy. A regenerated person is being is being sanctified by Christ & will be made holy when glorified. Look into doctrine of substitutionary atonement and original sin.

WASHER BATTERING THE SHEEP
The Christian under PW preaching is made to feel that something evil and disgusting is always at work in his soul. Ones relationship with self is defined by self-contempt, self punishment, and self-unraveling. Inner warfare results when every desire must be turned back on itself with shame and self loathing with the ever-present danger that one may slip and find himself in the clutches of the damned. In this, Paul Washer finds pornographic satisfaction.
42BETWO 2 years ago
@42- This is the real issue, turning EVERY thought, action, & deed over to God. Not self. Die to self, live for Jesus...not PW. PW is harsh, but again, most preachers want a "best life now" mentality. They dont deal with sin at its core and with truth. Most prefer to tell you God loves you and all will be fine in heaven bc you must be going bc you said a prayer. JMHO.
Bash PW if u finds satisfaction in it. It takes love and nerve to say what he does, 50+ years ago, thats the way it was.

One day all will..

you're wrong.

HIS children, not all are His children. If the reject Jesus, they reject Him and are not His. It would seem you may have misunderstood my point, forgive me. not all churches, especially in the US are Christian.

Also, you will need a prog to get the Hebrew or Greek.
rmlrobl 2 years ago
Again, how are works burned and not the person that did them? Also, if I am hearing you right, per your comments on Eph, how does a regenerated person (who does good works naturally in keeping with being saved) do the kind of things that will be burned once he gets to heaven. And how much of "heaven" can there be in the experience of just making it out alive after the burning of worthless deeds? How is one ever sure they are doing enough good to escape the flames?
42BETWO 2 years ago
You can never do enough to be "saved". THAT is a gift of God's grace and you believing on Jesus Christ and all He did as pertaining to the Gospel.
Apart from that, no one would make heaven, as far as those that heard the Gospel. Those that died w/o the Gospel, again, only God is the Judge. Our "good" works are a sign or symptom if you will of who lives in us. Apart from Christ, there is no holiness or righteousness that can be gained. Only by faith in believing on Christ can one be born again.
rmlrobl 2 years ago 2
As for Paul Washer, the man is one dimensional, obsessively compulsive about the total depravity he perceives in his fellow believers; verbally scrubbing them till they bleed; while unable to celebrate anything of the human spirit. He seems like a very angry person, overly caught up in his creepy belief system. Alas, the man who's career it is to call sinners to account, fails to find sin in his ambition to superior sanctimony.
42BETWO 2 years ago
The message he preaches is harsh. It needs to be. If I may, somone like yourself, where I once was, who believes the Bible is not Truth, and it is "man-made", you must reject any thought of sin and judgement, and use cliches like " human spirit. The only reason you breathe and have life is thru God. The only reason your parents could have sex and produce you is by God's divine creation. This universe did not explode and we evolved. We were created, He is the Creator. As created, we live for Him.

When exergeting the Bible, it nust be done within the context of the true church, not in the world.
rmlrobl 2 years ago
Eph2:8- says we are saved by faith, the gift of God. James 2:24 says they are justified by works. You see, if someone has tryly been regenerated, they will do good work simply because the Spirit lives in then, not because as man they are good.
Show me where, quote the sermon, and the time where he says salvation is not free. Thank you. (Remember tho, Paul is a man.)
rmlrobl 2 years ago

We are not promised tomorrow.
rmlrobl 2 years ago
Apparently we are the only two debating this issue. I see no other responses. Any way, I think you are missing my points which confirms my belief that the written language is a poor vehicle for "god" to transmit messages through human history. My belief is that the bible is of human manufacture; so also, is the way it is received and modified over the centuries.
42BETWO 2 years ago
I will not disagree with you on that point. Man has constantly tried to modify the Bible. If they don't like something in it, they want to change it to suit their needs. If someone does not like the idea that God will one day send people to hell, they come up with thier own reason. Look at the evolution and homosexual agenda being mandated by law into public schools. Why, people want want what they want and naturally rebel against authority, especially when it is as personal as God is.
rmlrobl 2 years ago
You believe written language is a poor vehicle for God to transmit language, yet you're using written language to condemn, well, written language. Had it been modified older copies would testify to this.

Words are all we have of god's so called 'revealed" truth. But these words are human. It is delusional to ascribe heavenly origin to these documents. What's more, they are interpreted by humans resulting in everything from snake handlers to Roman Catholic beliefs.
42BETWO 2 years ago
You're using words to show me that word's are useless to convey meaning. Which is a self refuting argument but lets digress. If not language, what would be an appropriate avenue for a divine being to express himself to his creation, outside of language. ??

Creation.

Dear viewers,
According to Paul Washer sermons, your salvation is NOT free.
42BETWO 2 years ago
Salvation is not free. I requires working out with fear and trembling. All believers are subject to losing their right standing with God. Don't get comfortable with God's grace; If you are saved your works will likely be burned and you will be spared but only ones who barely escape the flames. Even the great P. Washer may not be too sure if he has done enough for his god.
42BETWO 2 years ago
In what part of the Bible does it say salvation not free...Ephesians 2:8 says that it is a gift of God...
So does Romans 5...Have you ever worked for a gift? You must have got your doctrine of salvation from a Jehovah' witness book, because it is not from the Bible...
Soldier7of7Christ 2 years ago
ALL works will be burned and tried by fire, for no work is worthy nor sufficient. Salvation(mercy & Grace) are free. Price paid accepting that gift, to accept it is to walk away from your flesh and die to self. Jesus paid the price on the cross that we should suffer for our sins. We pay a price by rejecting this world and all it stands for and living the life to be like Christ. The gift is free, the journey is not "free" it is a work and a walk, running the good race to the only worthy cause.
rmlrobl 2 years ago
Your Bible is of two minds on this and other issues. Apart from theological contortions, you cannot resolve the Bible's contradictions, especially on this centerpiece of Christian beliefs. I offer you a sample that contradicts Eph: 2:8, and that is: James 2:24 showing that faith alone does not result in one's justification. Apart from works, this faith (or means to receive divine grace) is dead. Therefore, works legitimizes the faith that embraces grace. No works no salvation. You say?
42BETWO 2 years ago

42BETWO 2 years ago

It's distressing to hear how much preaching God's love seems to be scoffed at.
alastairI 2 years ago
"but this type of preaching (in my part of the world anyway,) no-one will listen to..."
I disagree:
"25Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. ....., 26but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." John 10.
Those who are His WILL listen.

Sorry, but I know people who have had bad experiences with this type of approach, and are now not receptive to the gospel. I'm not saying it's not true, but there are other approaches, such as explaining God's love, to people who may not have anyone else ever loving them. I have led people to know God by doing that.
alastairI 2 years ago
Agreed, but people need to know exactly what they are being saved from and for.
You have to be honest and tell them that they are in sin and they are sinners in the eyes of God. Then tell them the good news.
JimmyTheKirkie 2 years ago
I agree (hallelujah!)
alastairI 2 years ago
i think the gospel is a complete package and no part should be overemphasised to the detriment of another. It's talking about some part of the gospel and not others that leads to false views of who God is and thus liberalism or worse.
Revinius 2 years ago
I agree!! BUT...the gospel should spread in LOVE, and carefully so as not to turn people away before they have heard. Look at some of the comments on some of the atheist clips on youtube...people now see Christians as judgemental and unloving, whether this is true or not. Not saying we should be 'liberal', but not as 'hard-faced' as this guy Washer...never seen him tell anyone that GOD LOVES THEM.
alastairI 2 years ago
He does preach the gospel love of Christ, and is badly represented on youtube in that sense. In any case i do think his rebuke is a form of love (just not the hollow wishy washy love of our culture).
Revinius 2 years ago
OK, sorry but Youtube stuff is all pretty harsh sounding. Don't think love is wishy washy tho'...can be pretty hard, and it is what Jesus said would be the mark of those who are his. Think we're also dealing with culture difference between UK and US. Think seeker-sensitive means different thing here. Anyway, God Bless, thanks for chat.
alastairI 2 years ago
I am Australian...
Revinius 2 years ago
Well if you tell unconverted people that God loves them and leave out that they hate God thus the need for repentance. Most people don't realize this and say they believe in God and Christ because they don't want to go to Hell incase it's true and it sounds right living like Jesus. They don't really believe with their heart because they haven't been baptized with the Holy Spirit which shows you the truth.
So they live their lives trying to uphold the law themselves which is impossible.
DinoDillinger 2 years ago 9
Atheists are as hypocritical as we are, just because they are arrogant in their ignorance makes little difference ultimately. In these clips Washer is critical of weak gospel presentations and i think rightly so. I have seen more unbelievers burnt by such churches (because they have no depth) than strong bible based ones.
Revinius 2 years ago
look up Paul Washer loved. Very Powerful
DinoDillinger 2 years ago
sorry, but you are not helping them or loving them if you don't share with them their true need for Jesus. It doesn't make sense to a pagan to follow Jesus if not for their desperate need of saving them from their sins. You must give the patient the diagnosis before the cure, or they will laugh in your face and throw out the cure.
ptherapy1 2 years ago
That's not my experience. You can also appeal to people who feel 'is there more to life than this?' without trying to scare them into becoming Christian in case they burn in hell. If the Lord is raised up he will draw others to Him.
alastairI 2 years ago
Alastairl, I am not talking about hellfire brimstone preaching, I am talking about using the Law, the 10 commandments as a mirror to show them their need for Christ. Paul said the Law was a schoolmaster to bring them to Christ. Hell doesn't seem reasonable until you use the Law to show them they are Lawbreakers. you can open the conv. anyway you want to, but you must eventually get to the issue of their desperate need of a saviour who paid their fine for them.
ptherapy1 2 years ago
If they don't recognize their sin for what it is, they won't ever truly be saved. You can't be saved apart from a life of repentance which results in living more and more like Jesus & His teachings. I have been in churches where all they do is say, "we all sin" and "pray to be saved" and they assume the people are saved.. many show no indication of changed hearts/lives I don't think they need to be :"scared" , but they do need to understand seriousness of sin. too many believe in cheap Grace

"no-one will listen to..."
How did you come up with that? I listen, many others have too. Washer is right. Inthis particular target audience who need to hear that. Who's Washer addressing? Those people need to hear it.
JimmyTheKirkie 2 years ago
You are a Christian (thanks for your gracious apology btw) I'm talking about reaching the "unchurched" - millions of people in the uk who don't know anythingabout Jesus.if you present them with hellfire preaching, they may turn their back on God forever. I believe people are searching for that missing part in their life (which we know is the Lord). I think there is a huge difference in culture between uk and us. In US people may call themselves christian, and that may be who PW is preaching to.
alastairI 2 years ago
"I think there is a huge difference in culture between uk and us."
Yeah, you're right, there is. I'm from the UK. There is less cultural Christianity there than in the US. I currently live in Canada and here in Canada it's like the UK. Les cultural Christianity than in the US also. Perhaps we should preach out of the Bible without any manmade spin?
JimmyTheKirkie 2 years ago

Right? This could even be a "heated conversation," hence, a "controlled argument."

denmead7 2 years ago
Evidently you missed the point of what he was saying, but the reason the Bible doesn't say that is because for the most part, large problems like we have today didn't occur the same. He tells Timothy and Titus how to combat the idea of what we have today by being bold with the gospel, but clearly he is giving a commentary on our society today, and how foul it is.

Wow, this brother is on fire. Amen to all of this.

Yep he has a powerful message...
but the best is not for you... he will never call you to come to the altar and repent.asking Jesus into your heart that you may obtain Soul Salvation and live eternal life with Jesus..
Why? Sadly hes a Calvinist and believes you may be one of those God made for hell.
Calvinist believe God chose some for heaven and some for hell ... from the foundations of the world...
Imagine that... God making a man for hell fire. Jesus died for all men.. All CAN BE saved..
Terri3210 2 years ago
what's wrong with Calvinism? how is God evil or wrong for creating somebody for hell? why does a preacher have to call people to the altar to receive salvation?
i don't disagree with your statement, "ALL CAN BE saved." that is absolutely true if God wants to do that. The simple fact is that not all will be saved. Why do you think that is?
crashxthexsky 2 years ago
thats the problem with calvinism. It says that christ comes for some. The bible doesn't say that. Jesus says if he be lifted up he will draw all men to him. He even says the comes that all men may be saved. But its clear that there is no intention to build bridges between calvinist camps and armenian camps.

Can you please show me an example of Jesus, the apostles, the New Testament Church, or any church before the 1800s doing alter calls and advising people to ask Jesus into their hearts?
bikerdisciple 2 years ago 3
An alter call is simply a way to help people who are scared or confused about what they are feeling have it explained to them.
There isn't anything wrong with an "alter call". The problem is that pastors treat alter calls like a recruiting depot to obtain members and care nothing for the truth of salvation.
Even though, no, you don't find "alter calls" in the Bible, I wouldn't say that a real one is unbiblical at all in context.

I sometimes have to come back and watch his videos. See the way he goes from talking about real vs. carnal church members then goes into a scenario about someone raping his wife in a parking lot? That is the Holy Spirit through Washer voicing His devotion for the true church--the bride, the wife, of Christ. And she is being raped by indifference, habit, and vainglorious competition between clergy where church membership has become more important than SALVATION.
fruitofspirit 3 years ago 4
Is this not so true? it breaks my heart. Jesus doesn't need to be made more "presentable". He is Lord! we are so busy making the Gospel into an entertainment circus that a lot of people don't even know the true Gospel.
shockingalternative 3 years ago 2
Hi, shockingalternative! I agree. Jesus said to preach the Gospel, not "package it in an attractive and acceptable form". It's the Spirit's function to speak to the heart. If we speak the true Gospel, then He will convict our listeners' hearts of the Truth. Whether someone acts on that truth is their eternal choice, and is out of our hands. God doesn't need us to appeal to someone's self-centered desires.
