Donkey Kong Stage 9-9 (FINAL!)

finally beat this after 15 years. had this game as a boy, but never got far. downloaded it onto my 3DS and finished it tonight. it's long!!

you use a different strategy than me. you can hop up on kong's mouth and right as he pounds his fist you can super-jump onto his fist and then jump to the next level. from there you can get barrels but you have to throw it as you dropping back down to the ground to hit kong and prevent the barrel from smashing on the ground.

This game is so fun I've been able to play through the whole game in one sitting without getting bored or tired.

I used to get so excited after beating a level when I was a kid. Good times. :D

i do love the fact that whenever DK (or could have been Cranky Kong) smashed the tower, items fell from the sky even though nothing could be up there.

My memory's pretty shabby a lot of the time, but I do believe I had a LOT of trouble with this boss. I didn't know you could just jump through his fist like that. So I clocked a lot of hours on jumping on top of his fist getting the second barrel. >.>

But yeah, I loved this game.

This is quite possibly the best game ever. I remember this game taking up so much of my time. I played this for hours on end, several hour long drives to the beach for vacation flew by with this game in my hands. The gameplay is solid on every level, and it is such a shame that this game is so obscure. I would love a re-release of this game on DS, or maybe even as WiiWare. I must play this again... Godly game!

I remember this boss made me cry as a kid. Cause after like 100 levels I couldn't beat this guy. I finally did though.

I have to say the whole unexpected segment is interesting from a storyline perspective. Since it would suggest Mario accidently found the Mushroom Kingdom after chasing DK to here. An his first experience with the Super Mushroom was having to fight a giant ape lol.

Actually, MVSDK was a sequel, just very similar. There was going to be a remake, but it was cancelled. They made this instead.

I love this game. The handstand jump manuver was one of the most awesome parts. It almost made it too easy. I wish Nintendo would release another game like this. It was so much fun. I may have to pick up my old gameboy again.

I noticed that you stayed on ground level most of the time. I think you could probably get a better run if you hopped up to the top platforms and stopped the barrels there. This run does make for a better display though.

Is it just me or does the "The End" text look the same as the "The End" text from Super Mario Bros. 2?

QUality was great, it was the game quality that sucked. Never heard of this game but looked funny watching Mario do a handstand to catch barrels.
