Man people kept dwelling on that silly grappling match Mir and Nelson had, it was like 8 freaking years ago!!!! And it was a grappling exhibition, not an MMA fight! Nelson is more and more just looking like a fat slob in the cage. He can hold his own against middle of the road HWs, but we see what happens when he fights the elite. The whole lovable, mullet toting, fat guy gimmick has kind of run it's course.

hamill keeps his hands way too low...almost everyone has the same gameplan for rampage which is to take him down. Hasnt worked too often. Dont think hamill will be too successful. Rampage KO's Hamill 2nd round shold left hook just like silva

this will be interesting i beleive roy would win the standing battle, he has shown to have ko power, and a good chin. before anyone states mir has power should take into consideration nog isn't the zombie he used to be, his chin is fading, and kongo's standup is overated. the interesting battle will be on the ground, mir has a good bottom gaurd, but no one has been able to get nelson off when he is in their guard.

@Naffini I know, but the reason I mentioned it, is because Frank Mir's strength is normally his ground game, so knowing that, Mir might wanna keep it standing, which will also be tough, because Dos Santos couldn't even finish him...so either way, Frank is gonna have a tough time.

I would rate Mir's stand up over Nelson's, though Nelson almost always seems to find a way to land that overhand right. To be honest I see Mir trying to put the pressure on early, take the centre, wear him down in the clinch against the cage, take him down and work from the top. Whereas I wouldn't be surprised if Nelson tries to keep the fight standing and take Mir out early.

I think Rampage has too good TDD for a Div 3 wrestler like Hamill. Hamill also drops his head forward when he throws his overhand right and uppercuts. I say Rampage via lead uppercut, followed up by strikes for a tko.

Hamil is a slow puncher w/no KO ability who also plods far more than Rampage. QJ is truly a heavy handed elite MMA boxer, with deadly hooks, upper cuts, crosses and straights (lacks a LH jab).

Rampage w/his elite defensive MMA wrestling (good TDs too, displayed vs Machida's strong TDD) will keep it standing vs. Matt. Also, despite work ethic reputations, QJ has a proven 5 rnd gas tank, unlike Matt who always tires.

I cant see Nelson losing to MIR. Nelson has the advantage in standup: In his fight against Dos Santos it became apparent that its almost impossible to knock Nelson out, and Nelson has very good power (certainly more power than Mir) as he has won frequently by knockout. Nelson has superior wrestling (Mir has very poor wrestling) and he has beaten Mir in a grappling contest.

Arguably the best aspect of Rampage's game is his underrated defensive wrestling. Even if Quinton shows up at 50%, he's probably going to stuff the vast majority of Hamill's slow takedown attempts.

I think the longer the fight goes on with Hamil and Rampage the better the fight looks for Hamil. But, if Rampage comes out gate and hurts and or tires Hamil quickly then it'll look good for him in the end. I'm leaning towards Rampage on this one.
