  • Pure genius...

  • Bosses? LOL! Shes talking about initiation in occultism, but very few would know.

  • o lindeboom lol :P

  • kate always likes to send messages, she needs to be inturped, this is much more then music, let me open it up a bit, heavey people are bosses, they gamble on people to make money for them , the ball is what they gamble in the case ov a star the gamble is big big big. rolling the ball to her means she must carry the load ov the production. any questions just think. WOW (walk on water).

  • this is so very very amusing, it s almost addictive.....

  • Rollin the ball (Rollin), Rollin the ball (Rollin), Rollin the ball to me.....Join in!

  • didn t michael jackson put kates moves into his thriller video, looks like a copy cat thing to me

  • Them 'heavy' people were all of the people instrumental (sorry) in opening and broadening her mind and body. 'Heavy' - think of 'hippy' 'heavy' (heavy, man!), as in deep, serious, intelligent, complex, whatever words you want to use! Not about music industry. About KATE and her loves and influences.

  • Kate bush is hot. I would love to married to a freaky babe like her!

  • And she's was 19!!!!

    LOL

  • Dooo the creeeeep!

  • oh kate,what a waste.

  • @legiteblogger Sorry man, incurable.

  • anybody know a psych who can deal with kate addiction?

  • @legiteblogger learn how to manage it, it is incurable

  • @legiteblogger Not me.

  • I saw her perform this on Saturday Night Live in the U.S. in 1978. It was strange and unforgettable. I didn't think about her much until I saw the Live at the Hammersmith Odeon performance on t.v. in the mid 80s. I became a fan then.

    BTW, planking at 02:13.

  • She is the queen of pisstake!!!! I love the pouting and posing at the end!!!! Where are the people like this today? I think you would hit Australia before finding this quality? I dont need to dig its here!

  • I don't really like Kate's videos, but this one is really amusing. :D

  • @narred Is this seriously about the cut-throat nature of the music industry? I always thought it was about paying attention to the lessons you can learn from people telling you hard truths. I guess it goes to show how a song can mean different things to different people. I often think the words are less important than the feeling. You take the emotion of a song and attach it to relevant experiences in your own life, and hang the words off that however they fit.

  • אני כל כך אוהבת את השיר הזה!

  • do the creep dance

  • simply delicious .talented/sexy what more can you say about this women .

  • Nuffin' like flutterin' dem big Kate eyes when the dem heavy people come round...failing that.. a crowbar helps lol

  • I've seriously watched this 50 times since first seeing it on Monday. I just can't stop watching the graceful genius of this woman.

  • @seymourbeetle Yeh , me too.N

  • as she'd say herself, ''amazing''

  • Love Kate!

  • All of Kate's videos are so theatrical and dramatic, and a PERFECT compliment to her music, which is also dramatic and full of emotion and heart. I feel like every Kate song/album could be its own Broadway show!

  • OH THEM HEAVY PPL

  • Sometimes Kate looks like she's crazy as hell-lol But we love her for it!

  • computers are very bad judges of character

  • a totally unrelated advert, why would they think i want to hear that?

  • the advert came on and i thought - that's really dreadful...

  • I love Kate cause shes crazy

  • Goddamn this lady takes me to heaven and i become a lusty devil...

  • Happy B-Day Kate

  • Man, that video must have been SO much fun to make. Especially the whole hitting-the-random-guy-who-offends-you-over-the-head-with-a-chair part! Haha. Just kiddin'. But what is with all the kicking and hitting each other with various objects and the weird guys who gape at Kate and are all weird? Wait. Are they gaping? Or are they doing some sort of weird face exercise?

  • My personal favorite song* sigh*

  • I want ... that hat.

  • i like her top, i had one like that

  • if...

  • this is one of her scariest vids for me. she is singing about the cut throat natur of record compnaies and agensts, right? the kinda ppl that smile when they wanna scream at u but won't cos u may be woth a lot of money in a contract?

  • @narred

This song is about having people like artists, authors, scientists, etc. giving you inspiration on a deeply personal level. I think.

  • @narred Please don't be scared. No, she is singing about the experience of reading books by heavyweight philosophers such as Gurdjieff and others. Ms. Bush is a deep thinker. And it's an optimistic song. And the video is funny! Let's just enjoy it.

  • @flo15jo i've never even heard of gurdjieff!!! i can only make out so many lyrics and was told by somebody that that was what the song was about [ie, the cut throat nature of the entertainment industry]. still, thisd video is nowhere nr as scary as 'sat in your lap'!!

  • I love Kate Bush, but if the creepy dudes aren't over animated, I don't know what is.

  • talent, beauty, grace, style, the list goes on

  • o lindenboom

  • the best and most pleasant display of society criticism EVER PERIOD

  • the best and greatest display of society criticism EVER PERIOD

  • Fantastic! Can't wait for the new album!

  • God...I wish I sounded like Kate Bush! And my dad told me he used to have a huge crush on her. :D

  • @raintalonwindclan my dad still does!! embarrasing!! (but i do havea slight girl crush ;))

  • wow, just look at her- she was no heavy person at all and those lyrics are timeless. I just love that foxy kate <3 xx

  • wow, just look at her- she was no heavy person at all and those lyrics are timeless. I just love that foxy kate <3 xx

  • GAHHHH A fucking advert????

  • most beautiful wife ever...

  • I dont understand the female artist debate .....just listen to the evidence....i guess their is only one conclusion....

  • Why are youtube comments so focused on bringing other artists down? Does it /really/ make you a better Kate Bush fan?

    I doubt it.

I like Kate Bush, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Tracy Chapman, Nina Simone, Robyn, Queen, Adele, Sneaky Sound System, Alicia Keys, Anne Murray, Patti Smith, Seal, Santana, and Tori Amos.

    Don't hate, appreciate.

  • @akipler.Don't a Kate Bush fan have the right to think she's really better than other female artists?

  • @akipler You like some good stuff mate. Kate bush is better than all of the above though. : )

  • I'm actually fed up of seeing comments on every music video about the same thing, about new music being crap and talentless. There IS good music still out there, you just have to dig deeper to find it. Be more open minded people!

  • @TheEpicMusicChannel I agree. There will always be bad music There will always be people trying to prostitute their music. Its just reality. Human beings are imperfect. But the great thing about this world is YOU get to choose what you look at and listen to. However...there is no denying this worlds shrouded in darkness. But the brave will search for the lights.

  • I love her.

  • I like this version better :)

  • I was at one of the Bham shows and still remember what a triumph it was. Kate deservedly gets the credit but i'd like to congratulate her band aswell. They have never put a foot wrong, when it really mattered, and have made an unmeasurable contribution to the Kate phenomenon.

  • @bigmagic96 Yes she has had good musicians who have contributed to Kates success.

  • REAL talent yes, but she wouldn't have been as popular if she was 25 stone with a beard, just saying...

  • @gorseydog Pavarotti did ok with that.

  • She looks like she could have come from a 20s-30s movie in this video - gorgeous!

  • haven't seen this for years - I think this is the routine from her 1979 tour - I was lucky to see one of the concerts

  • Its a shame with c*nts like Simon Cowell constantly churning out shitty manufactured pop bands and solo singers that the younger generation are now so used to seeing, so they can line their own pockets, we will never see talent like this again.

  • @jrb1802uk the ironic thing is Cowell will probably turn his nose up at this because it wont sell mainstream.. Which is incredibly shallow

  • English eccentricity at her best, I love ther first album best but all her stuff is great, mad as a hatter but so what.,

  • @Murrdock71 Sometimes her mouth looks like it's having it's own stroke?

  • hypnotised>> her face and body are awesome

  • You cannot watch this video and be unhappy at the same time, it is impossible

  • She's so weird, her songs are so weird. I love it.

  • i heard shes touring??? this true?

  • @bungalownigel there was something in the paper recently saying she wishes to tour again before she needs a zimmer aid....what a history trip that would be

  • she's so British ! such a woman but not % of SHOW (to show herself I mean, she is naturally beautifull and she doesn't play with it) such an artist, please Kate

  • Kate's unique style is ageless and her songs are enchanting, she has to be without any doubt in my mind one of the most talented musicians I have ever had the pleasure to listen to, period.

  • great song......

  • Not much comes close to her in the 'music industry' . How dull it would be without her. Genius.

  • So funny, so talented and so fucking HOT!!!

  • oh Kate Bush.. impressive...still smashing ! Wow...Full of respect for you..!!

  • beautiful more than words

  • Great singer, song-writer, dancer, producer, choreographer, non-publicity seeking and an all round wonderful entertainer. Truly one of a rare breed that makes her so special.

  • @nijmegen1964 Trouble is lack of airplay on tv for any of Kates music.

  • @ggarlick46 Unfortunately Kate will never fit into the limelight-hogging glammed-up so-called clelebrity category that seems mandatory for any artist featured on our screens/radio. They wouldn't know talent if it bit them in the derriere.

  • @nijmegen1964 True thats what you get with the dumb down of tv and radio now.

  • Kate is endlessly fascinating!

  • OMFG this video is absofuckinglutely fantastic what a concept!!! what a performance!!!

  • jammy dancer on the left,,,he got to fondle her bosom

  • boob grab 2:13.

  • @Heartflowergirl: You are so right, because Kate Bush is so original and she is just herself, no pretending.

  • Madonna is talentless tart ... espesh when compared to talented musicians like Kate

  • @dweagle02 Madonna is a talented show girl,not a musician

  • @dweagle02 The only thing Madonna had going for her was that people seem entertained by seeing some skanky looking whore with no other talent on stage. Kate will be famous for years. Madonna is finished. Look at her current photos. Grotesque.

  • @dweagle02 Please, Madogga the Queen of flashy slutdom & fame for fame's sake is a talent-dead-zone compared to the lightest musical fulff (Bananarama, Five Star), nevermind all those underappreciated females we were lucky enough to have throughtout the 80s-Kim Wilde, Kirsty MacColl, Cyndi Lauper, Aimee Mann, Bangles. As for a true original with the truly specialist scope that our Kate Bush has, how anyone can bring up that sexless old whore I'll never know. Crap, thieving old bags do not apply!

  • She's such a ham! This video actually made me laugh.

  • Why is it necessary for some people to compare one artist to another, and not take them on it's own merits? Comparing any of the so-called "modern musicians" to anything from the past is redundant. The flash in the pan fanatics seem to think a few current "performers" are so talented and ground breaking, yet they need to bring up who they consider their influences.

Most of today's music is industry fodder, It's all smoke and mirrors to deflect a lack of talent and creativity.

  • Always loved KB - strange, beautiful

  • @TheWindowBeside Indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rolling the ball (Rolling)!

Im sorry I cant stop thinking of Alan Partridge bahaha

  • SO beautiful!

  • Took me a a while to find Kate. Not much play in U.S. Heard that voice on a desolate journey via car radio. Ladies, not everyone can sing like Kate but I will repeat the advice of a much wiser man than myself, Randy Newman, "You can leave your hat on".

  • nobody at the time was doing what she was doing, her music could hold its own with todays so called stars! plus she was a genuine beauty, still is! you cant compere her with anyone else, shes head and shoulders above everyone so there!....babooshka!.....

  • it's about her period ha ha ha

  • Before Kate's ground breaking the state of music for female "pop" singers was dire. Her lead gave record company bosses and producers the courage to let their vocalists loose.

  • ok ok musical genius but f*** she's hot!!

  • Beautiful, from before my time, when REAL talent became famous through hard graft and grit, unlike todays pussy-tuck boob-job brigade x

  • @Vasilouxx you r 100% right. those days are long gone.

  • @Vasilouxx i totally agree with you!!!!!

  • @Vasilouxx YOURE SO RIGHT!!!! My thoughts exaclty. Shes PURE talent.

  • @Vasilouxx i agree man!

  • @Vasilouxx

    i don't know ..

the bush videos look very synthetic 2 me ..

    the asynchroni.city

  • she scares me

  • Clearly I am missing something. You all seem to Love her but I don't even understand what she was singing about. And her facial expressions were very I Love Lucy-esque.

  • @YellowMiss1

That's aright, you go on listening to what you understand.

  • @cree8vision Most condescending comment ever.

  • @YellowMiss1 You're either on the Kate Bush bus or off it. Looks like your off it or missed it all together.

  • my brains elecricity fires in all direction when viewing a kate bush video :D

  • To see her doing this song on Saturday Night Live in1979... I bought her album the next day!

  • watching Kate Bush video compilation. Just noticed that for every KB video, the top-rated comment is something along the lines of "I don't mind Lady Gaga, but comparing Lady Gaga to Kate Bush is like comparing (something quite small) to (something really quite massive)".

Well, at least I suppose all the Gaga comparisons are introducing new people to KB's genius...

  • mad as a box of frogs, but one fit lady

  • I wonder what would happen if those top zips ware pulled down, lol

  • Very funny and sexy performance !

  • Just wondering..the 25 dislikes..hmm..what exactly you did not like? A gorgeous, sexy , British musical genius at the top of her game doing some magic....

  • @dorot222 some people don't like weird songs. not me, i love kate bush. but she's weird, let's face it. genius, or excentric, but weird...

  • I love her moves! xD She's a GREAT singer! Divine! *-*

  • Kate Bush was a superstar in the muso set when I was young. All the people I knew, who knew music, had Kate Bush records. When she played live, she sold out. Word of mouth, no big hits on radio. She sold records on pure talent. And her big 'hits' came later.

  • This video is a mimed version of the arrangement captured during her performance at the Hammersmith. Once you've seen the stage production in all its glory you will recognize the minimalist treatment shown here. Still, it's a worthy souvenir. The lass has class.

  • super...pozdrawiam

  • No one could come within a country mile, Talent, Imagination, Beauty, She had the lot!! No one will ever better this!! :)

  • Kate was is and will be one of the most brilliant musical artists Ever.

  • when was this video produced?

  • @smallGatsby 1979,its from The Tour Of Life concert in Hammersmith. The full concert was on tv a couple of months later ,I can remember it.Thats the only time its ever been on tv.

  • She is gorgeous and wonderful. She is Queen Kate.

  • Kate Bush is beautiful, Lady Gaga is U-G-L-Y!!!

  • there is so much substance to just the music and lyric that everything else is secondary - so unlike many artists who are all schtick.

  • Lost for words watching this video, CLASSIC, doesn't even come close. Can't think of any other superlatives good enough, dam my feeble brain

  • @filsgreen And a song written by a teenager....

  • Music peaked in the 70 s.

Apart from trash like punk, disco and rap that is.

Early 70 s was the peak for rock but after 1975 there was alot to cherish too.

    Rainbow, Thin Lizzy, UFO.

House and grunge were just the axe at the root of refined music.

  • Does Lady Gaga even have a sense of humour, this video is very funny, with very clever lyrics.

  • No way could Lady Gaga ever write lyrics like this..."I was hiding in a room in my mind"....She is beautiful too. Lady Gaga is not.

  • I'm love with this woman!

  • lovely, a real english rose

  • This is real talent

  • Whoa. Great performer for sure. Also one of the prettiest women I've ever seen.

  • Kate is the ultimate performer...true genius.

  • Marina and the Diamonds have certainly been influenced by this lady.

  • Does anyone hapen to know who the dancers are in this utterly fantastic, entertaining video? The purple skirt she's wearing is stunning. Those tight, split skirts were the fashion in 1979.

  • People who mention Lady Gaga and Kate Bush in the same sentence must be heavily intoxicated. There is absolutely no comparison. Gaga being an talentless attention seeker, and Kate being someone who probably invented heaven.

  • @Mrcor916 Bush is art, Gaga is entertainment. Bush is an artist, Gaga's a celebrity. Some ppl can't tell the difference between disposable pop music and something that will last forever, like KB.

  • @Mrcor916 Plus Kate Bush was 19 when she realised this song, which is funny, intelligent and mature beyond her years....And Kate Bush is beautiful..as someone that had bushy hair and was called Kate Bush in the playground, I look at her and I know women are expected to have straight hair or slick curls. Now I can see she was beautiful and should have seen it as compliment to look like her and have her like hers. Despite the teasing I secretly loved her music. Lady Gaga is more like Madonna.

  • 24 people are HEAVY

  • 1978... I wasn't even born yet. But this music was waiting for me all that time :)

  • Who wouldn't kill for those arms.......The rest is not bad either !!!

  • Most amazing musician of all time.

  • Kate's obviously having fun in this video, I don't know what Lady Gaga is all about, and I don't care! I only listen to songs I like!

  • Every. Single. Kate Bush video. Full of Lady Gaga discussions/comparisons. STOP IT!

  • Lucky bastard on the left.

  • Kim Wilde? Are you for real man? Your opinion and your opinion only my friend, nothing more :)

  • @Defn28 I'd hate to think what yours is as you've clearly never heard her to state that-or you're just being a wind-up. Kim may not be to your so-called 'taste' but she's done more original and melodic songs than many overrated females (and males) of many past era and certainly all today's crap. Remember there are those that think Kate is a gimmicky nutjob with an overly high-voice who doesn't make sense and is too weird for the mainstream.

  • She wasn't shagging Dave Gilmour you fucking dickhead!

  • As much as I love Kate, I have to admit... this video is F****ING HILARIOUS!!! =')

  • @BluEKiddLD I'm pretty sure it's meant to be : ) she has such a sweet, kooky sense of humour, and you can just see in her eyes that she's having a bit of a laugh. The choreography's amazing, though! No joke there!

  • The comparison thing sucks, but worst thing of all is that the world's suckiest person-Madonna the talent-free slaghag from hell had the absolute nerve to appear in the 80s & be crowned a queen! WTF! She shouldn't even be considered competition to the worst, nevermind the best & people are always considering that sad cow superior over the REAL talent then-Kim Wilde (my Queen of Music), Toyah, Kirsty MacColl, Stevie Nicks, Cyndi Lauper & yes Kate too. Madogga knowing how to fuck equals royalty?!
