That is why there is a move back to RWD vehicles after the failed experiment in FWD that started in the late 1970's. I have had both with plenty of snow experience so I know what I am talking about. Also RWD with chains is better in snow than AWD without chains.

It takes very little acceleration almost none as a matter of fact to transfer that weight to the rear.
