@utubesuperstation Yes people sill today want a tv series about Excelsior. I guess the thing about Excelsior is that its an intresting ship. From its introduction in the search for spock people were so intrested in ti especially when they heard of new speed transwarp drive people has expected a very cool effect when Excelsior was suppose to go follow the Enterprise but where suprise when it lost power. It also had a scene in the Voyage Home and we cannot forget it in Undiscovered Country

Also I had heard George Takei wanted to make his own series I think it was suppose to be called Star Trek: Excelsior. I think this would had been a great idea and it was almost going to happen but unfortunently at the last minute Paramount Pictures backed out. Many people today who had heard of this thought of the series about Sulu's adventures on Excelsior a great show they do not know it not happen.

They were exhanging fire until Excelsior retreated back to Federation space I belive the Excelsior was not at its best when it got if it was I am sure its shield would have held more stron gly either that or Chang's Bird of Prey has very powerful torpedoes the Enterprise had its shields up also and was completely torn apart by Chang's torpedoes.

@orkneymist Hard to say the Enterprise A is an updated Constituion class ship but Excelsior is a brand new powerful ship. Very evenly matched maybe Excelsior would win but it would be hard I think both ships would beat up each other so much they would both be destroyed at the same time.

@utubesuperstation When Excelsior arrived to help the Enterprise in Undiscovered Country I believe they did not raise their shields up fast enough and that is why the bulkheads closed either that or I had read somewhere Excelsior has bulkheads with a special type of sensor in it although. I belive both ships are evenly matched Enterprise-A vs. Excelsior is very close Excelsior brand new powerful ships Enterprise A however is an updated consitution class.
