It depends on the weather, the condition my skin is in, or what effect I'm going for. For dry weather, if my skin is normal or dry, or if I want a dewy look, I use liquid or cream foundation. If the weather is humid, if my skin is oily, or if I want a matte look, I use powder foundation.
emsy you need to stop being so modest about your gorgeous skin ok. I understand using a little to even things out but your skin looks pretty flawless to me pre foundation.
Really, I'm not being modest, and my skin is not gorgeous. It's just that after going from raw footage, through the save on the video editor, then through YouTube, lots of detail is lost, including my skin's flaws.
I'm going to post my collection on my blog, but I don't think I will do another video. As soon as it's complete, I'll put the link on my channel page.
I feel ya. For many looks, I prefer a colored base. I'm looking forward to the summer to see if my paints, paint pots, shadesticks, and HiP crayons will crease when my lids are oily. I have only had all of those a short time, so I don't know how they perform in the heat.
I do prefer colored bases, but anything remotely creamy creases on me unless I use UDPP, Prep& Prime, concealer, etc., first to dry my lids a bit. *sigh* I wish it wasn't so.
As side note, I don't know anyone who likes the M.A.C Prep & Prime for eyes. It works fine for me except I have a teeny tiny dry patch or 2 on my otherwise oily lids and it dries them up too much. I'm hanging onto the P&P to see if it works better for me in the summer.
I like the color of the Smashbox better; it's less yellow. Both have similar, buildable coverage. The finish of the Smashbox looks more natural and dewy to me, which may be due to the fact that it's a liquid, while Studio Tech is a cream. Plus, the Smashbox has SPF, but Studio Tech doesn't (I think).
that's right, studio tech doesn't have SPF, which really sucks..it's my regular foundation and favorite to date. i also wish it wasn't in a compact because even though i obsessively clean my brushes, i still feel like the whole compact thing is unsanitary. it is a cream foundation though, so i suppose there isn't any other way to contain it.
i just noticed that you switch up your foundations so i was compelled to ask.
i think you are beautiful without makeup.

yay! you're talking! i like this style of tutorial.

I like that it's much quicker to edit, but I still like being able to use music when I don't talk. Thanks for watching, peeech!
EmsyJay 3 years ago
Well...you can still put music low in the background and still talk! Compromise! :o)

I totally agree about the UDPP. It's okay, but it's definitely not my "holy grail" primer.

YAY! She speaks! Ive never tried liquid foundation but that coverage was great
DivinelyInspired 3 years ago
Yes, the coverage builds very well, but you can also apply it with a damp foundation brush for sheer, dewy coverage.
