@queenqueen0918 i took the video down unfortunately... cause i thought no one liked it...ha ha ha...u're the second person that asked after i took it down..
A few years ago two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to see if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said "Get the kids and get out of the house, we'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue". The "clown statue" was actually a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this on 10 videos tonight the clown will be in your bed at 3:00am with a chainsaw in his hand. Sorry don't want this to happen to me
@DessertzHouse Marsala is actually an italian sweet white wine, not a liquor. You can substitute it with any sweet white wine, like Monbazillac, white port, Sauternes, Baume-de-Venise or muscat.
why do you not want to soak the sponge fingers? a quick soak will allow the sponge to be softer and absorb more of the coffee taste. I understand the base will be too soggy to move the cake around but what about the layers on top?
@RareJadeForest06 hahaha, I like french nails...but I can't have them anymore until August....cause I teach little kids and if i have french nails, it can easily scratch them... :P
you only put sugar in the mixture for soaking the sponge ladyfingers, but you didn't put any sugar in the mascarpone?? won't it taste completely bland? since you only dipped the ladyfingers, there won't be much taste of the mixture on them?
@TheWendy1981 the syrup itself is already very yummy...with the coffee and marsala. I like it without any sugar in the mascarpone. If you like it more sweet, you're welcome to put sugar into it. I just really like the taste of coffee and marsala. Also, the sponge fingers are covered in sugar so that is why I didn't put any sugar into the mascarpone. Hope this helps! :D
@kimphuong12345 could it be under the international foods section in your local supermarket? Or...you can go to some specialty stores...if not...then i guess you can use sponge cake...
I'm back! I made this cake for my in-laws. I decorated it with strawberries, dipped the ladyfingers in chocolate ganache, and tied it all together with red string licorice. You can see the results at my blog which is called
" Linda is Loquacious and blog, blog, blog." My mother -in -law raved about how light it tasted. There is not a lot of sugar in this recipe which was fine by me, and everyone else. The light soft texture is heavenly. Thank you so much for the demo and the inspiration!
@tubetop70 oh hey thanks for your nice compliments!!! :) I'm so happy for you that it turned out great. In fact, I'm making a tiramisu today since the last time i made it was a year ago...and I have spare ladyfingers at home...LOL...I checked out your blog too...it seems like u're an excellent baker!!! I'm going to post one of your photos onto my blog and on fb to share with others, hope its alright with u...thanks so much again!!! I'm glad that u liked the cake :D
I plan to make a tiramisu cake very soon for my mommy & daddy in law. I didn't catch what type of pan you are using to hold the lady fingers. What size pan is it and is it a large ring or does it actually have a bottom. Forgive me if I sound silly. I was just wondering how you lift the pan without disturbing the lady fingers.
@tubetop70 i used a 20cm TALL tin...and the bottom is not attached. So to get the tiramisu out, i had to push the bottom of the pan. It is fine if you use a ring and put some baking paper at the bottom. It might be easier. :D Hope this helps.
your tiramisu cake looked absolutely amazing, i make my tiramisu a bit different but i love how it looks as a cake. i am definatly going to try it like that.
@headbangerchick666 thanks for your compliments. If you're not ok with raw eggs, don't use this recipe, i just don't have problems with raw eggs. I'm so glad u liked it :D
@Helios89Zg for not deflating egg whites or whipped cream, you always add them to the heavier ingredients. so she should combine the egg yolks and cheese first, then add the whipped cream, then the egg whites. then just gently fold the egg whites in. also, the whipped cream is over whipped.
@Helios89Zg no problem. the only reason that you dont want to deflate the whipped cream and egg whites is because you still want to keep the air so it will be light and fluffy. always add the lighter mixture into the heavier mixture.
@XxTeeyuhxX oh thank you for the nice compliment. I'm sorry but I don't know how to make it. But, i drink it every now and then cause its cheap in Hong Kong haha
Tiramisu is one of my favourite desserts...but it is hard to find a place where they make it good...I once had an awesome Tiramisu, it was on a birthday party of an italian friend who is from sicilia....his mom made the best I´ve ever had ^^
I bet, this version of Tiramisu is extremely tasty, too.
@TSpancer80 i have no problems with raw eggs but some people do so quite a few people dun like this recipe. haha...and I whipped up the cream in a very rough texture....but that was how I was taught to make it...but anyways...it tastes very good and i receive many good compliments for it.
@DessertzHouse Yes, you´re right...but if you don´t people that there are some raw eggs in it...they won´t even realize ^^ I once ate fried calamari rings as I was a kid...I was on vacation in Turkey...I ate the whole plate and then I was asking: wow, this is so tasty...what is it? They told me it is squid...and I was like...aaaahhhh...hehe because I surely didn´t ate them if I knew before...but now I love them ^^ I can imagine that you get compliments for your tiramisu...want have want have ^^
Instead of mixing the soft peaks, fold them until they're well blended. You lose the air in the mixture when you just mix it normally. =) You want that air in there!
@540977 yepyep, i know. In Hong Kong, I don't have an espresso coffee machine and getting coffee in Hong Kong is expensive hence i didn't use it. I use it when I'm at home in New Zealand. :)
@inbarshema I do it anyways. (xD) It's not the healthiest admittedly but hey, its a dessert. It's not meant to be eaten in large quantities You aren't going to die by having a little.
@inbarshema You can, but it's not recommended. The eggs are unpasteurized, which means that you can get sick from the bacteria that wasn't killed by heating up the eggs.
this is a really easy recipe...there are no tricks...u dun hv to have the sponge fingers as edges...u can just use a bowl for it...YEA...i love this t-shirt too...its totoro :D
