Can you install a compression valve on a galvanized metal/iron pipe? My old angle shut-off valve is leaky. I need to remove it, but it has been soldered on. Could I saw/cut it off (there is about 4 in sticking out of wall if i cut off old angle valve) and replace it with a compression joint as in video? I can only find DIY instructions on compression valve and COPPER pipes. But no instructions for iron pipes.
