I baked egg pie po today, I followed every step and procedure, after 40 mins po, yung Egg Pie ko watery pa rin pa-tanggal ko from oven, pero creamy sya, natural lng po ba un o may mali ako? titigas din po ba un after ko palamigin?
Ingredients: Pie Crust 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cut into cubes 1/4 to 1/2 cup cold water 2 tablespoon granulated sugar Filling 1 3/4 cups evaporated milk 3 pieces raw eggs 1 piece egg, white separated from the yolk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup granulated sugar

1) On broiler setting for 10 min to cook the top layer of the (custard) pie. As you take it out of the oven be careful as the middle part is not yet done. It will wobble like jello.
2) Set oven to 350 deg then cook for 1 hour. Take it out let it cool down. And there you'll get the perfect custard consistency.

@DianeHee either there's something wrong with your oven or you're using it incorrectly. does your oven have a grill function? if the top part is burnt while the inside is uncooked, it's probably because the heat is coming from the heating element (hot rods on the oven's ceiling). that's for grilling meat. so direkta yung init doon sa pagkain, imbis na galing sa ilalim ng oven. don't use that for baking. turn it off, and use gas. also, invest in an oven thermometer.

@voen16, for me. he doesnt mean to destroy the filipino way of cooking but instead he was trying to make ways how to make cooking very practical specially to those who are outside the country. if you were outside our country, it is not so easy to cook in our traditional way. walang ingredients, kulang sa time and everything. so little things like this, helps a lot of people outside pinas to prepare pinoy dishes without complications. hope u understand....
