@DarthJones55 strider vs spiderman comic wise is stupid. it depends on the author.. in terms of the game, spiderman looses straight to strider 10 out of 10. Stider was god tier in mvc1, and top tier in mvc2. Strider hiryu's fierces destroy all of spidermans and strider gives greater damage in his combos.
It's a fight between a ninja-like mercenary and a man with greatly enhanced super human and spider powers.
Spider-Man wins easily, considering he was able to take down almost any type of foe in the past. Including mercenaries, ninjas, giants and omnipotent super villains.
Maybe a normal skrull, but the Super Skrull would destroy him in a mere of seconds. Same goes for Spidey, since he could easily knock-out Strider with little as a tap to the head (done and proven in the Amazing Spider-Man comics).
It's kinda obvious that Capcom had to overpower their characters just so they can compete with Marvel's. Hulk vs Sangief, Iron Man vs Megaman? Are serious? XD
@JumpmanYTP I agree capcom does overpower their characters in games like this...............(I'm looking at you Capcom vs SNK 1). But honestly strider actually is that powerful. Strider wins vs an army that controls the entire earth...........TWICE! His entire life is that of a ninja, Spidey doesn't have that kind of focus. And his sword cuts through ANYTHING. If anything strider would only take a few his of punches from spidey before KO......if he could ever hit him.
Maybe, but Spider-Man defeated many villains capable of destroying worlds. You also have to take in account that besides having super human strength and spider powers, he also possesses super human speed, durability, stamina, agility, reflexes (capable of dodging bullets), and even a regenerative healing factor (not as effective as Wolverine's though).
And if he combines all of his powers and his famous wise-cracks in a fight, he's practically invincible (proven in comics).
@JumpmanYTP I agree that Zangief, even in his "Mecha" or "evil" version, can not beat Hulk -who can stand a match against Superman. But hey, i really think Megaman has a chance, since he is a rational, super armed robot.

@glorbax Spiderman is actually quite the ninja considering his fighting style. His ability to enter a scene using stealth and deceit, with more of a strategic approach to combat makes him quite qualified for the name.
