As a Gay Veteran and a former Company Commander (Drill Instructor) in Navy Boot-camp, I'm qualified to say that this video would have been funnier and completely un-creepy if the actors were allowed to say that they are both gay and Marines. The description leaves out that they're gay being uploaded before DADT-Repeal of course. Campy humor is funnier if it's known that the actors are also gay. Or a humor-laden disclaimer pre-apologizing to "all 16,000 gay Marines out there" would be perfect.

When I was in the Navy I saw a gay guy (pending discharge) who was so unwanted that he was intentionally set up by the command and NIS (now NCIS on "tv") to be cuaght in a compromising situation. He was harassed on a daily basis. He wanted to serve his country, but I told him hey, they got rules here and that's one of them. I was nearly assualted just for talking to him. When I was in the Navy I saw a gay guy (pending discharge) who was so unwanted that he was intentionally set up by the command and NIS (now NCIS on "tv") to be cuaght in a compromising situation. He was harassed on a daily basis. He wanted to serve his country, but I told him hey, they got rules here and that's one of them. I was nearly assualted just for talking to him. And that, Tankgirl21, is what makes this disrespectful. Unfunny.

If we were saying "this is what marines are like" or "this is how the drill instructors act" or something of that nature, then it would be disrespectful, but we are not and it is not. If you take it that way it is your own misconception. And its still ncis in the real world not just on tv.

well if u really think about it, that type of flamboyance wouldn't survive in the marine corps. mainly because the lack of intensity would either get worked over till you either end up hardening up, or you get dropped from recruit training. no problem with gays, but the flamboyance and lack of intensity has no place in the corps

YEAH AND TO ADD MY 2 CENTS IN, sure dont ask dont tell should stay in effect it has been working for years, but honestly if they are going to let people "come out of the closet" they should really be careful about how they do it I am an 11 and if someone came out of the closet they would probably kill themselves the next week, plus i dont wanna have to go to CAX or bridgeport or hell if i was back in boot camp with them and be showering with them fuck that man!
