  • I wish I had the 7 stars button! Loved it

  • on my opinion nobody, plays this piece as good as segovia did, those ornaments and tones not even bream did it as good,is my opinion.

  • Lovely control and tone, I have uploaded a 'Bouree' too, I think it may well be the first transcription for guitar since the piece was composed? not sure, please have a listen.....

  • Jethro Tull sent me here

  • i personally love this version. Especially 0:43 - 0:48 where he goes loud to soft slightly.

    Love it!

  • what grade would this be? Because I'm learning it and I want to know which level I'm at.

  • @bibhuna it is a grade 6 song.

  • @HazelTheKlanger And Asturias which grade is? Regards from Costa Rica!

  • I really don't believe he actually transcibed any of the suites in its entirety. He often transposed movements of the suites to different keys - such as the Allemande - to A minor - from this very same suite as the Bourree, which is in E minor. Also, as evidenced by this Bourree, Segovia would fill in chords and whatnot.

  • my father listened him in live...at people called "bis, plz, bis" he said :"the guitarist would play, but the guitar is tired"...lol...he was old at the time...

  • segovia paso a guitarra este tema

  • I have a question: Did Segovia ever record a complete Bach Lute Suite? Or just bits of them?

    Regards

  • @goyroyni I know that he transcribed several enitre Bach lute suites for guitar but I'm not aware of any recordings as such. In Segovia's day I don't think the recording industry had much interest in entire lute suite recordings - they only wanted the "catchy" pieces.

  • i can tell is segovia no mistake, the best, along with bream versions.

  • na und ?

    lern erstma gitta!

  • haha i'm glad he doesn't jack up the tempo like a lot of others do

  • Well played, but I don't think this is Segovia playing-too inexpressive, too cold :(

  • "Segovia Gold" Cd n. 1

    Track n. 2

recorded by Deutsche Grammophon in 1952

What do un think it in't acceptable

  • Sorry, my mistake. You are right. But this sounds so untypical-compared to the recording from 1947. No offence meant.

    Juergen

  • This is Segovia, I have this same recording on two different commercial CDs.

  • It was my mistake, this is a Segovia recording I never heard before, but it is quite untypical compared to the recording of this piece from 1947.

  • @JuergenSchenk Barroque music is different and more quadriculated and exact. That is the reason. This is a good song to start playing guitar. Also tremolo is different and shorter inconcert halls is difficult to hear so he shortens it.

  • @JuergenSchenk at 0:56 and 1:24 showed Segovia lay back ending note and tone color, also his unique ornaments, phrasing and rubato, i think this one is pretty sure is his interpretation and i will follow this for my playing on this song , thank transalp1983 for posting

  • Segovia will be missed!

  • ESTE SEÑOR ES DIOS!!!!

  • Realmente único!

  • Stupendo!
