i would forshore rebuild this track i lastr went there when i was like 4 it was the 1993 or 4 v8 supercars and dick johnson won and dont remember much and id like to race there for the tasco sallon car series
I had the pleasure of racing on the resurfaced track a few weeks ago. What an exhilarating experience! It is amazing to think that this incredible track lay idle for so long, right on Brisbane's doorstep.
Check out the Qld Racing Drivers Championship round at Lakeside on July 4/5. it will be a cracker!
Great vid, I use to race motorcycles here about 8 years ago , I have often popped in to have a look and it brings back many fond memories.I hope to one day race here again at some level, I hear they are resurfacing the track as we speak.
We drove Lakeside today with the timeattack team & had a blast. It is still very run down but there has been alot of work done since these pics. It's a real driver's track and so much fun to drive. So sad to see it run down and a bit thumbs up to everyone working on getting it back up to scratch. Can't wait to drive it again after the resurfacing ....
Up until I moved to WA, I was part of the group that tried to save Lakeside, the LMRE. It's good to see that they are starting to do it up again, and hopefully I can go have a look at it when I go back on holidays. But anyway, great video. As run down as the track is today, it is still one of the best circuits in Australia. Loved the pictures.
i was at lakeside today and it is the bast track i have raced on, it should be the home of the v8s not qld raceway!

Remember Doohan racing there on Yamahas, about 20 years ago, Rob Phillis etc.
