'uzun ince bir yoldayim' is a kind of song that is called türkü and written by asik veysel.. it is so emotional.. and to hear such a türkü with a person who is american touched me.. congrulations..

Thank you so much! Yes, I was in Istanbul for a year (I meant bir yil) and love the culture and language. Thanks for the information about Veysel-- I had looked him up but still wasn't really clear on whether he was a myth or a real person.

as i know, Asik Veysel was a man who went blind when he was 7 years old (i'm not really sure) but never gave up playing saz (turkish guitar).

most of his songs deal about equality of human beings, peace and tolerance to each other whatever their religion or race is.

This song "Uzun Ince Bir Yoldayim" (Being on a long, tight way) means the life (my interpretation)...

everyone walks through without looking behind, always confronting decisions ("iki kapili bir handa..." -> room with two doors, maybe right and wrong decision, heaven or hell)...

you know, our decisions make us to what we will become...
