It is indeed amazing how much they used to set up the stories back then. A story could have a build up of over a year. And then the story could last twice that long and you STILL weren't bored of it. Boy do I miss that.
I miss it too. The writers seemed to take such pride in there work back then. They really thought about the story and characters and where they were going. Re-watching, it's like seeing all the puzzle pieces click together. The first time I saw these scenes, I was thinking one thing, but after they finished the story, it completely turned around, so re-watching those earlier scenes is like, wow.
