and in fact, people on the anarcho-capitalist side are actually far closer to chomsky... than anarcho capitalism is to, say, conservatism.

For more on this see Dr Linebarger's book 'Psychological Warfare' which talks about specific techniques. He wrote this book as a textbook for a high school course on propaganda which, amazingly enough, never materialised. Another interesting view is a vid called 'Propaganda Techniques'. It's an old (1950s) educational film aimed at high school students. The techniques are presented and explained rather crudely but they're still widely used in political and economic (advertising) discourse.

@GanzLONDON Over 2 billion people speak English, and the majority of web pages are in English. It's the most spoken language in the world. Look at videos in English that have millions of views...most don't require as much thinking as this one. People are comfortable with their heads in the sand, regardless of the language. The fact that this video is in English has nothing to do with it having so few views. Any other language, and it would have LESS views.

@chinopisces yes its mandarin since china makes up like 1/5 of the world population so it is mostly spoken in china but english is the most spoken when it comes to communication between people from different origins & i think its the language that lumps together the most countries

@GanzLONDON English is (arguably) between first and third in number of speakers in the world. In toto, almost 2 billion (thousand millions) of people speak English on the globe. China is trying mightily to change this balance - brilliantly I might say - for example by subsidizing Mandarin native speakers going abroad (right here in River City) to teach Mandarin to grade school aged children (when children learn another language effortlessly and perfectly).

For all I care ESPERANTO should be MANDATORY in the whole WORLD as a second language !

Spanish, English, Mandarin, Japanese, Russian, Portuguese are all great languages.

But internationaly should be ESPERANTO !

But as long as there is inequality doesn't much matter. We are far from civilization still !

@librophile Almost all "Japanese" cars today are assembled in the United States by AMERICAN workers. Many "American" cars are assembled in Mexico or Canada, many times with parts manufactured in Mexico. To call someone out on their patriotism based on their automobile preferences is an idea that's out-of-date, back when "foreign" automakers actually manufactured their cars overseas, then shipped them to the U.S.
