  • Who played the original? Could someone explain to me (in a nice way if I may ask) why this band is 'doom metal'? I get confused with all of the genres, sub-genre, and sub-sub-genre. I was under the impression that doom has more growling vocals and is more slow than this sound. This sound is what we have been calling 'heavy metal' for like 40 years or so...

  • @DancesWithJoy Pentagram, the guitarist Victor Griffin, the founder of Death Row and Place Of Skulls is a former member of Pentagram. He composed this piece

  • @DancesWithJoy well if your not a troll, then this is real doom metal. "doom" metal with growled vocals is fag doom, poser doom and has nothing to do with real doom whatsoever. The only exception would be sludge, as it is a mix of black flag era punk and master of reality style doom and sometimes is really fast rather than slow.

  • @Nick992 so you calling Swallow The Sun, Draconian, Doom:VS, Thergorthon, Virgin Black and Skepticism "poser"? what the hell man.

  • @Vdrum1010 no matter how good greenday get they will always remain posers, same with those bands.

  • @Nick992 I am not a troll. I have never lived under a bridge in my life. :-P LOL Now I have two more sub-sub-genre to add to the list!! I never thought that there could be such a thing as 'poseur doom'. Learn something new every day. Thanks for the input. Peace.

  • @Nick992 i agree with you man. Bands like Pentagram, Candlemass, Reverend Bizarre!, that is true DOOM METAL

  • @DancesWithJoy Pentagram are 'Traditional Doom Metal' along with Saint Vitus, Reverend Bizarre, Pagan Altar, Black Sabbath and many others. These were mostly the first bands to incorporate slow riffs and coin the genre. Check out Pentagram's song Burning Saviour and you will hear a difference. These bands are also very different to epic doom/death doom/funeral doom/stoner doom bands, the different sub genres of doom.

  • This is one of the best covers I have ever heard in my life!
