I would like to ask if it has it been possible to see this film in USA? I mean outside NY? is Quebec the only place to see it in America?
Yes, when she was living, she used to bring peaches to her husband when he was repeating his music, and these moments were full of intense love between them.
I love this movie!!! The Golden Age of Foreign movies! I most of all like its message of what the meaning of music is. Music is not created for execs, corporations and critics who tell us what we can and can't listen to. But rather it is created to reach our hearts to not be influenced by commerce and hype... Plus the soundtrack is killer!!!!.....
@slopoke2112 Thats not the 'message' of this film at all. It is simply a story of how a cranky old fiddling codger influenced a famous musician from the Baroque period while the ingrate had hot sex with his two daughters.
And stop running down the 'execs', they know whats good for you. What, you think some homeless person will have better judgement, taste and understanding of music than a successful well paid exec?
the music is exquisite; perfect for a clear morning. the only bit that annoys me in this scene is the woman chosen to play madame saint-colombe. i think they made her too sexy - red dress and heaving bosom and all that. someone plainer, simpler, would have made the scene more affecting than it already is.

"I am at a loss for words, Madame. Twelve years have elapsed but but our sheets aren't cold yet."
Magnifique.

One of my favorite movies. ♥

riccard789 2 years ago

Was she talking about peaches in the carriage?
Is that a metaphor for something?

françois couperin: leçons de tenèbres: piece about the destruction of jerusalem
idrzzzyyy 2 years ago
The Roman destruction of Jerusalem? Or the Crusader destruction of Jersusalem in 1097? Which one?
peymaania 2 years ago

Tu estrechez me sorprende.
