I was actually wondering, can the Kelleners be installed WITH X-pipe left on? If so that would explain why some peoples exhaust dont sound as mean as ours. I dont have the X-pipe either.

M5 clutches are not the best. it does not take alot to fry them. with a couple of launches like that they start slipping on 2nd and 3rd gears at WOT. if you keep that up, they fry up easy

This is true, they are undersized at 240MM clutch. Clutch drops wont necessarily cause them to slip, but poor shifting/riding of the clutch will destroy them.

Anyways most people understand that clutch drops like that cause lots of stress so no point on going on about it. Upgrade to the CNS Racing clutch/UUC V12 and never worry about the clutch slipping again.

indeed got an e39 myself and you realy gotta let go the clutch first and then give throttle. Best thing to do is lighten the flywheel en get a sport clutch, not race clutch cause thats like a everyday workout 4 ya leftleg :p

CNS clutch setup is the best for the E39 M5. Pedal feel is like stock, although the break in sucks because of chatter, that kinda break in is expected with the materials used in the friction disk. They bite hard but are easy to drive. Pricey but worth it.

@hrach559 - as an E39 M5 lover, I can easily say that the clutch on this car is not the best. You have to really understand how to launch them correctly or you're going to start experiencing slip in higher gears quickly. Not that the M5 was meant to be a "racing off the line" car anyway. Fortunately, you can "upgrade" them to the clutch from the M70 V12, and that helps fortify it a bit.
