Geopolitically speaking: the US has already won the U.S.-Islamist War.

Like I said some of the execution (thanks to bureaucratic inertia in D.C. primarily) was sloppy. However, it's a testament to our fighting men & women to have been able to pull it out of the fire despite the bureaucracy's inefficiency. Hopefully, the next time we engage in a Counterinsurgency War, we learn from our mistakes here (like not committing enough troops to Iraq from day one). If we commit enough troops & treasure upfront, we'll not have to pay the butcher's bill w/ interest at the end.
